Thoughts on last night's game
My buddy used his hook-up to score us tickets 5 rows behind the Pacers bench. NBA basketball will never be the same for me again! I normally hate players and spectators yelling "AND 1" after a basket, but there I was being "that guy" after Hill made that steal and bucket with 1.8 left. The crowd was going crazy during the last 22 seconds and became silent after that play. I'm sure at that point I made myself heard amongst the Warrior fans in our section!
Some of my thoughts and observations after the jump.
Dahntay Jones dunks on Monta Ellis. This was when the game was in favor of the Pacers. Bad loss, but a HUGE dunk nonetheless...
Media Day Photos
Don't know if this was posted yet or not, but it's cool to see three four (forgot bout T-Brough) new members of the team in their Pacers uni's.
UPDATE: Looks like they added 30 new photos, rounding out the team. Some good shots here!
"It’s something that I think was orchestrated even before Earl was waived," Ramasar said.
Earl Watson agent Todd Ramasar talking about the Pacers making moves for Watson knowing they were losing Jack. Always cool to hear a little behind the scenes talk.
My radical Tinsley solution
In my opinion, the biggest thorn in our side is our non-expiring big contract of a player who we don't even invite into the gym. I am know I am not exactly breaking any new ground here by saying Tinsley is more trouble then he is worth. What i am getting around to saying is that he needs to rejoin the team.
Yes, rejoin the Pacers.
We are getting nowhere keeping him and his ability hidden. We sure did teach him a lesson by keeping him off the floor last year, one which I did not argue with. Our team chemistry was better and guys looked like they were willing to give their all even through injuries, something that cannot be said for Tinsley. However, I am going to assume that he did learn his lesson and that he will want to play again for the Pacers. Give him a chance to come back, just like the Colts gave Ed Johnson a chance. Heck, Tinsley did even less than Ed did. Give him his chance to earn a trade to another team. It won't hurt the Pacers, we will have a full playing roster, be able to showcase a potential starting point guard to another team, and be able to get at least a minimal return on his contract. The longer we keep him off the court, the harder it is going to be to trade him. No question. Lets give him a chance to show what he can do. Lets get him traded!
