The Rockets played with their usual heart, energy and unselfishness. Those things may be their trademark.
They can beat almost any team when they're perfect. That is, when the perimeter shots are falling, everyone contributes and the lack of size isn't exposed.
This was one of those nights that reminded the Rockets what they don't have and that there are going to be occasions when teamwork and passion can't overcome size and strength.

Solomon thinks Brooks needs to be the new leader
He makes a decent attempt in his case for Aaron Brooks to be the new leader for the Rockets, however I think this is a little far-fetched. Maybe Solomon is thinking about putting Brooks in his fantasy league, who knows. Nothing will replace Battier in the locker room as a leader until he either gets traded or retires.

Justice on Yao: Is he worth it?
I just noticed an article that Richard Justice posted after the end of draft night. He basically reinforces his ultimate distaste for Yao - not because of his talent, but because of his injuries.
Honestly, I must say that I about 80% agree with Justice on this one. And here is why:

Les Alexander makes SI's Top 5 NBA Owners
I was kind of surprised that this hasn't made the rounds on here yet, but SI just did an quick little write-up on the Top 5 NBA Owners and the Worst 5 NBA Owners.
The worst owner shouldn't be a surprise to anyone.
Brief summary after the jump.

Yao is hurt guys
As Rocket fans we now have to decide how we want to root for him.
Ever since his Game 1 knee-knock he's been pretty bothered. Don't forget that he will be playing in China this off-season and will have *very* limited time to recuperate on any surgery / medical attention his knee needs.
I feel so ... conflicted. And used. We, as the Houston Rockets, do not have sole say over what happens to Yao - that all comes down to the Chinese government. If Yao's knee is truly busted we might not see him until midway through next season around the time McGrady comes back due to his obligations in the Chinese league.
If any of this site's bloggers can provide some more insight that would rock.
However, Yao is hurt. His knee is definitely botherhing him.

Spurs fans want us to lose
According to a recent poll over at poundingtherock.com, more Spurs fans want us to lose to Portland - or at least want Portland to win the Championship (laughable).
That's kind of messed up. When the Rox get knocked out of the playoffs I usually cheer on the Spurs.
If any Spurs fans here are reading this, you must explain yourselves.
Oh well, hopefully we will smack those poll results around tonight when we take Game 6 with a score of 95-87.

Why I want the Rockets to face Utah in Round 2
I know we will probably face the Lakers. They are about to start their game in Los Angeles. It upsets me.
Not only because I think we could take Utah this year in a 7 game series, but because I still want vengeance for this, the last time we ever passed the 1st round in the playoffs:
I demand vengeance!
Utah has also knocked us out of no less than the last 4 / 7 of our playoff series.
If this were the NFL, I would demand blood. However, this is just the NBA, something which apparently only I and those of you that I converse with online find relevant, which is sad.
As such, I find it a sad duty tonight to cheer on Utah. I find if very difficult.
On a positive note, Boozer is a great player, however Utah will suffer greatly when they lose him next year. And at least I can get some giddiness out of that outcome.
F*CK YOU UTAH

WHAT was up with the outside shooting vs. Memphis?
With 4 minutes left and down as much as we were, why were we opting to shoot outside 3's? WHY? We have the best center in the damn league. We have the best chances for offensive shots in the paint. We were down by what, 6 with 3-4 minutes left?
WHY were we shooting from the outside???? Why weren't we utilizing the top center in the league?
And to top it all off, WHY did we lose to yet another mediocre team??
I'm thinking if we don't get out of the first round this season it is time for Adleman to go. He's been making piss-poor decisions from the coaching bench all season (pulling Wafer out against the Lakers when he's red-hot??)
Sorry, I'm just really pissed after tonights loss to Memphis. There was no reason for this loss.
