I had tickets to 2nd row behind the Rockets bench for the Kings game. Is it bad that when I saw Robert Horry I immediately thought of grungedave? Any way, just sharing.

NBA.com: Aldridge: McGrady, Pistons agree to one-year deal

Tracy McGrady has just signed a one year, veteran's minimum deal to play for the Detroit Pistons in a back-up role.

Potential Chris Paul Destinations - At The Hive

Brian Ball over at sister site At The Hive has a nice write-up of potential Chris Paul destinations around the NBA as seen by the entire SBNation community. Pretty nice write-up, give it a read if you have the time.

Yao out for the first two months?

Yao Ming to miss the first two months? Or should it be: Source: Yao Ming to miss the first two months because random internet NBA rumors are where its at

Chris Paul to Rockets

Make it happen, Morey. Ok, maybe not really. Still, I can dream, dammit. Update: Corrected the trade machine scenario

Chris Paul Trade Rumors Could Be the Next Talk of the Town -- NBA FanHouse

8

Chris Paul and Emeka Okafor to Houston? Who would be on the chopping block for such a trade, and how would this affect the overall financial situation of the team? It's not a rumored trade, however CP3 might still be on the market and it looks like any deal for CP3 would have to include Okafor, similar to Jeffries from NY.

Rockets mull pursuit of Joe Johnson as enticement for Bosh

I have a love / hate relationship with this time of year. While I think we're all fairly certain that the LeBron rumors are ridiculous to even think about, this one seems just about as absurd. It would mean essentially gutting the entire team, removing most of our established bench players in exchange for a nice starting lineup.

Eddy Rivera (Magic Basketball): To be frank, Aaron Brooks doesn’t deserve to be considered. Durant is the clear winner but it seems like he’s going to get unfairly penalized because some voters think he’s too good to take home the hardware. The point is, improvement is improvement and this year, Durant has improved the most out of any player in the NBA. End of story.

Ricky Rubio vs. Sergio Llull!

Just something goofy to check out if you have the time on this holiday.

Forget Battier - has Yao Ming played his last game as a Rocket? Yao considering opting out next year.

Well this I can't believe. It's becoming real, real hard to root for the good guys. Though I guess the silver lining would be our sudden ability to become a decent player in the 2010 Free Agent market, possibly for a big center spot that isn't always injured.

The fight is on in the West - TrueHoop Blog - ESPN

+

Henry Abbott of TrueHoop discusses the Rockets' chances at the playoffs. Basically, we rock and we're doing great, but the teams that are ahead of us are simply doing better.

The Blazers act fast - TrueHoop Blog - ESPN

+

Henry Abbott of TrueHoop comments on BlazersEdge's whimsical post about the hiring of the ESPN Trade Machine as their new Assistant GM. Why care here? Because at the bottom of the article it reminds everyone that the Rockets really DID hire the trade machine back in 2008. Rather, the creator, as Morey's assistant genius in crime.

West playoff field already set?

+

John Hollinger from ESPN's TrueHoop blog makes note that the Rockets are virtually the only team in the West that has a chance of making the playoffs - at an astounding 17.8% chance. Of course, 89.75% of statistics are made-up.

Tracy McGrady still set to start the All-Star game

+

Tracy McGrady is just a couple thousand votes ahead of Steve Nash in voting, however he is still on track to start in Dallas in the latest All-Star Voting results released today.

The Rockets played with their usual heart, energy and unselfishness. Those things may be their trademark. They can beat almost any team when they're perfect. That is, when the perimeter shots are falling, everyone contributes and the lack of size isn't exposed. This was one of those nights that reminded the Rockets what they don't have and that there are going to be occasions when teamwork and passion can't overcome size and strength.

Solomon thinks Brooks needs to be the new leader

3

He makes a decent attempt in his case for Aaron Brooks to be the new leader for the Rockets, however I think this is a little far-fetched. Maybe Solomon is thinking about putting Brooks in his fantasy league, who knows. Nothing will replace Battier in the locker room as a leader until he either gets traded or retires.

Justice on Yao: Is he worth it?

I just noticed an article that Richard Justice posted after the end of draft night.  He basically reinforces his ultimate distaste for Yao - not because of his talent, but because of his injuries. ...

Why I want the Rockets to face Utah in Round 2

I know we will probably face the Lakers.  They are about to start their game in Los Angeles.  It upsets me. Not only because I think we could take Utah this year in a 7 game series, but because I...

WHAT was up with the outside shooting vs. Memphis?

With 4 minutes left and down as much as we were, why were we opting to shoot outside 3's?  WHY?  We have the best center in the damn league.  We have the best chances for offensive shots in the...
