NetsDaily Question for Nets fans

Not trying to start a knicks/nets flame war, but I had an idea that would seem to benefit both franchises (posted it at posting and toasting here), and wanted to see what the Nets fans thought.

Would you agree to a trade for Amare Stoudemire if it meant D-Will would agree to resign with the Nets? While everyone knows Amare has one of the worst contracts in the league, and is a horrible defender, he and D-Will would be an incredible P&R tandem (D-Will even made Carlos Boozer look like a star!).

So would you trade something like the Houston pick and Gerald Wallace for Amare if it was the only way that D-Will would stay, and the only way to enter Brooklyn with a playoff-caliber team?

The Knicks would love to rid themselves of Amare's contract, giving them some flexibility in the summer, and Wallace would be a great way solidify their front-court as either a starting 4 or backup for Melo at the 3. On the other hand, the Nets are desperate going into Brooklyn and I think woulud do just about anything to hold onto D-Will and have a playoff team the first year in Brooklyn.

Let me know what you think.

Posting and Toasting Amare to the Nets? Hear me out.

I hate when people post ridiculous trade ideas, but I really feel this makes sense for both teams. This would be a draft day trade as the Nets wouldn't be able to take on Amare's money until some of their contracts expire.

The Nets are crazy desperate. They are on the brink of losing D-Will in free agency, and entering Brooklyn with a team that rivals their 12-70 team from a couple years back. This would be incredibly embarrassing for the franchise.

As for the Knicks, while Amare has looked better as of late, he is injury-prone and not worth 3 more years at $60M. The Knicks are MUCH better defensively without Amare, and this year Amare has not made up for that with his offense. Some cap flexibility and more well-rounded players would benefit the Knicks more the Amare does.

Assumptions:

D-Will agrees to stay with Nets if they should acquire Amare, forming a pretty amazing P&R tandem. Nets go into Brooklyn with a playoff-caliber team, as opposed to another potential 12-70 embarrassment.

Trade:

Nets Get:

Amare Stoudmire (3 yrs / $60M)

Knicks Get:

Im not sure, but maybe something like...

Gerald Wallace (1 yr / $10M)

Nets 1st rounder via Houston (probably in the 15-20 range), or a 2013 pick.

Knicks would clear $10M in cap space as well, allowing them to pursue some FA's as well as hold onto Lin.

Posting and Toasting I RAN INTO MOZGOV IN NYC

So me and my friend were walking around getting food after the game tonight, and I see the tallest man I've ever seen walking around near Penn Station, and we suddenly realized it was Timo Mosgov. So we go up, tell him were big fans, get his autograph, say hi, etc. My friend says "You should get more minutes man!" Timo responded "I play like the shit" and walked away.

That's my story.

Gang Green Nation Woody says no progress in Revis talks

Woody Johnson told NFL Network at league meeting in Atlanta today that there's nothing new in Revis talks. "Status quo," he said. #Jets

That's not good news. I doubt Woody would straight-up deny that's there is progress if Revis is about to sign a deal. Unless all the sources lately have been from Revis's side and Revis has privately decided that he is going take take the best offer in the next couple days.. that's the only way both sides could be telling the truth.

Gang Green Nation Bill Daughtry says Revis deal will be done Thursday

Bill Daughtry is reporting on ESPN 1050 that Darelle Revis will sign his deal on Thursday.  Daughtry said he was golfing with someone who has contact with a person who is "in business with" Revis' agents. That person told Daughtry that a deal would be done Thursday.

Where there's smoke, there's fire. If he signs now he could still play in the last pre-season game and get a few practices in before the Ravens game.

Posting and Toasting Knicks offer Danilo, Curry, 1st rounder for Melo

Michael Kay is reporting right now on ESPN 1050 that the Knicks have offered Danilo Gallinari, Eddy Curry, and a 1st round pick for Carmelo.

I'm OK with offering Danilo since having him and Carmelo would be redundant. In any other trade I would rather offer Anthony Randolph but when trading for an elite SF there's no reason not to offer Danilo.

Also, it's looking like we will never have a first round pick again. But a team with Amare/Melo/Felton/Randolph is right up there with the other east teams besides the Heat.

Posting and Toasting 2010-11 Salary Cap Set to $56M !!

Huge news for the knicks. According to tweets from multiple sources, the 2010-11 salary cap is set at $56.1 Million, as opposed to doomsday estimate of $50M predicted earlier this year.

NBA Board of Governors Meeting Recap: Salary cap for 2010-1011 season will be $56.1 million

Good news for the Knicks as they have much more cap space than anticipated, and may now be able to sign 2 max free agents, and still have enough money to fill out the 12-man roster.

The bad news is the Heat are now in great position to resign D-Wade as they now can entice him by signing another big name.

Posting and Toasting HILARIOUS - Bulls vs Kings comment thread

Check out the Blog-a-Bull comment thread from the bulls vs kings game when they just blew a 35 point lead. Makes me feel so much better about the knicks. Vinney Del Negro might be fired before the knick game tomorrow night.

And then they had an overflow thread here:

Awesome. This made my night.
