Charley Casserly out, Jason La Canfora in at CBS | ProFootballTalk
Not directly Chiefs related, but Jason La Canfora (NFL's official "Insider" who replaced Adam Schefter when he went to ESPN 2-3 years ago) is going to CBS. Not sure if that means he's leaving the NFL, or not. Just kind of interesting.

Kind of interesting.
For those disappointed that the new Nike uniforms weren't radical enough -- with the exception of the Seattle Seahawks, of course -- have no fear. Alternate uniforms for the other 31 NFL teams could eventually be on the horizon.

Here's a better shot. Not too different. Which is good, as far as I'm concerned.

Just got a letter from the Texans trying to get me to buy a suite for next year. Guess somebody didn't get the memo...

Filed to ESPN: Matt Flynn has agreed to terms witj Seattle on a 3-yr contract worth up to $26M w/$10M guaranteed.
Adam Schefter (adamschefter) on Twitter
Not Chiefs news, but I know a few were interested in him. Also, Seattle is my NFC team, so I'm happy for them.
For those asking for Eric Winston update; remains in KC and the Chiefs still in contract talks. Other visits planned if no deal #freeagency
For those asking about Eric Winston news, I haven't heard any. Very possible they're still meeting. Tolbert left last night late evening.
"@abedominguez: Why so many one and two year contracts?" - a new TV contract is coming and it will infuse more $ into the player's pot
Peyton Hillis is as close to a lock in Kansas City as it gets, especially with Brian Daboll (his former OC in Cleveland) as the OC.
Omar Kelly (omarkelly) on Twitter
There's one guys' opinion.
I'm not saying that that is definitely the case, but a lot of people believe there is a personal angle here between Condon and Pioli.
nick wright (getnickwright) on Twitter
Interesting if true. I was thinking maybe between Clark and Condon...
"I do wish him the best in whatever the Manning family decides," Smith said in a manner that was almost certainly facetious. "I don't know why you would ask me. And I don't know why anyone is asking Peyton. If you really want to know what's going on -- what trips he's making and where he's going to play -- call Archie."
Filed to ESPN: Colts are fielding telephone calls from teams interested in trading for perennial Pro Bowl defensive end Dwight Freeney.
Adam Schefter (adamschefter) on Twitter
Lost in the mix of other Colts news.
...no big deal, not complaining...just a thought I had...
I just now noticed that as of RIGHT now, if you go to the front page of Arrowhead Pride and scroll from top-to-bottom, it is literally a picture of Peyton Manning on EVERY single article (that has a picture attached, at least). Who'd have thought you'd ever see something like that here?
Ah, the NFL offseason: When some fans think their team can fool other teams into trading top picks/stars for players probably leaving anyway
Rob Lowe has broken the news that Peyton Manning will not return to the NFL. Yes, Peyton Manning is retiring. Yes, Rob Lowe broke the story. Chris Traeger from ‘Parks and Recreation’. Sodapop from The Outsiders. The guy who pioneered sex tapes and sit-humped Demi Moore in a bathtub in 1986. God only knows if it’ll turn out to be true, but here you go, straight from his herb belt:
As part of NFL.com’s ridiculously early mock draft party on Tuesday, Steve Wyche projects the Browns will trade up with the Rams for the No. 2 overall pick to take Griffin.
"Cleveland needs Griffin — and wants him, according to league sources," Wyche writes.
Kansas City Chiefs: We have learned that receivers coach Richie Anderson and assistant offensive line coach Pat Perles will not return.

An infuriating #Chiefs coaching search update coming your way right at 2pm...
Twitter / @getnickwright
Can't wait...
The Dolphins have denied reports that Peterson was taking a Parcells-like role in the organization. But his presence in this meeting, along with his close friendship and business relationship with Dolphins owner Steven Ross, shows that Peterson is very much a factor inside the Dolphins building.
Former Chiefs coach Todd Haley, fired on Monday after the team’s 37-10 loss to the New York Jets, will be a guest analyst tomorrow on the ESPN show "Audibles," which will air from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Haley will serve as guest analyst on ESPN show | Red Zone
Looks like he's found some work.
Also, I've got some GREAT news for #Chiefs fans on the coaching search... and some disheartening news. Gotta save that for 2pm, though.
Twitter / @getnickwright: Also, I've got some GREAT ...
My guess? "RAC is showing great competency, but we're probably still hiring McD."
#Chiefs Romeo Crennel: "I would like to be a head coach again and show I can get it done."
NO NFL coach has ever won Super Bowls with 2 different teams. Can we remember that before we suggest Cowher, Dungy, Billick, Gruden etc...?
Twitter / @AdamWestcave: NO NFL coach has ever won ...
Not saying it's impossible, but this info is worth keeping in mind when considering Haley's successor.
You know, I just think that Norv Turner teams never have an identity. It’s just a collection of good talent, and it just feels businesslike and soul-less.
Kansas City, you know what they are. They’re a team missing their best starter on both sides of the ball, playing out of their minds and over their heads for Todd Haley. That roster shouldn’t be 4-3. No way. But they know who they are, who they aren’t, and they just grind. It’s a likeable group.
Can’t say the same about the Chargers…
This was simply a fan comment over at PFT, but I couldn't have said it any better.

Cassel goes up against a Dolphins defense that has allowed more fantasy points to quarterbacks than any other team in the league. So if you need to add a field general, consider the Southern California product in this AFC contest.
