The Royals will be hosting the Cardinals, Giants, and Rockies in 2008, but have not put any information about road games on the team website. From glancing at other schedules, it appears the Royals will travel to Phoenix. Do we know what in what other NL cities the Royals will play next year? Thanks!

With the Royals now 3 1/2 games ahead of Chicago following the Game 1 win today at the Metrodome, perhaps it's time to start thinking about the magic number to avoid the basement.

Through Game 1, any combination of 26 Royals wins and Chicago losses will clinch fourth place. Then everybody can talk about the lowly White Sox!

Besides, after their fan behavior several years ago, what would be better than the Cubs winning the Series and the White Sox finishing last?

Cardinal fans--they're worse than I thought

Losing 2 of the 3 to the Evil Empire was bad enough, but what caused me to not sleep at all this morning was the behavior of their self-proclaimed "baseball's best fans" following the game.

Instead of their celebrations, they spent the evening taunting Royals fans. I was taunted no fewer than 6 times on the way to the parking garage when I had zero desire to talk to anybody. One person even called me an MFer and there were women and children present.

Somebody on this board two days ago called St. Louis "the armpit of Missouri". I want to clarify that should refer strictly to the city of St. Louis. There are decent suburbs, particularly in Jefferson and St. Charles Counties, but the city is a disaster and was ranked last fall as the most violent city in the country.

I used to think the city of St. Louis deserved a team the caliber of the Washington Nationals, but I have come to the conclusion that St. Louis does not deserve MLB at all. They fleeced the taxpayers of Missouri for an ugly new ballpark and the state slashed $150-$200 million in education spending along with earmarking $12 million of already-short highway funds to pay for the stadium.

Is there any team less deserving of a world championship than the Cardinals? They have a manager who won't eat meat, but thinks nothing of driving while drunk. Their pitcher is killed in a drunk driving crash of his causing and his parents sue the innocent driver of a tow truck. Their lack of class is truly amazing.

If there is any justice, the Cardinals will begin a Cubs-like World Series drought! We certainly learned this week that they are not baseball's finest!

At tonight's Royals game in St. Louis, it was announced that Prince Fielder leads Albert Pujols by 21,000 AS votes at 1B. Let's do our online voting and stuff the box for Fielder and keep the Cardinal out of the starting lineup!

You can go to royals.mlb.com and vote; I have also seen ballots available at Wal-Mart stores.

Wouldn't be a nice gift to baseball's self-proclaimed best fans if we worked to elect Prince Fielder?
