JaJuan Johnson = Michael Smith
When the Celtics drafted Michael Smith in the lat 80's, he was talked up as the next Larry Bird. His shooting was phenomenal, he could beat anyone at horse. Worked out Great! This year, the C's draft the next Garnett. They'll let him play minutes against the Nets & Cavs to pump up his trade value for the February trade deadline. A la Al Jefferson. Anything more will definitely be a pleasant surprise.
Chris Sheridan is Insane
He Lists Mark Blount as a veteran the C's are looking at as a potential fit. Sounds like a great idea!!!.:
Chris Sheridan of ESPN.com writes that the Celtics could add a veteran player to their roster over the next month.
Boston could wait for a veteran to be bought out by his current team and Sheridan listed Keyon Dooling, T.J. Ford, Mark Blount, Tony Battie, Jarvis Hayes, Trenton Hassell as potential fits.
Gravy Season
Going into last season, the dream was a championship. Realistic expectations were conference finals. With Garnett & Allen coming in, consensus was that we had a window of 3 years to win a championship. Year two was supposed to be the 'Championship' year. After all, no reconstituted team in NBA history ever won a championship in their first year playing together. There was just too much of a learning curve in the Playoffs.
Flash forward to this year. The C's already have a championship under their belt with the possibility of a second one this year. If we can get Starbury for nothing, it will solidify the second unit & give rivers more options in crunch time for times when Rondo looks tentative. Like the Pats adding Dillon for championship #2. If the C's can lock up homecourt throughout, it's their championship to lose.
All the pressure is on LA to win. C's are playing with house money.
Boycott OKC
I set up a site to Organize a Boycott of the Oklahoma City Thunder. Seattle was robbed by Clay Bennett and David Stern!!!
The url is at www (dot) boycottokc (dot) com.
It's simple, if your team is playing OKC, don't go, don't pay for those tickets. Don't buy any OKC merchandise.
David Stern has lost all credibility as NBA commissioner with the ref scandal and the Seattle debacle. He should have graciously stepped down years ago.
