Pass Rushing Prospects

We all have our opinions about what to take with our first round pick this upcoming spring. I personally am in heavy favor of a pass rusher. I remember how we talked about how terrible our pass rush was in 07 (26 sacks) and our numbers actually went down this season fellas (24). Thats horrific. Teams are doubling our sack total. For all of those that want some pass rushing entertainment, here is 2 defensive ends that I am very interested in. I hope the bills take either one with their first pick.

Brian Orakpo: age 22 / University of Texas / 6-4 260lbs

Season stats: 40 tackles, 11 sacks, 0 FFs

This guy is an animal. He missed 3 of 13 games this season and still put up 11 sacks. He is a freak of nature and he reminds me alot of Demarcus Ware. He has alot of moves and is not just a bill rush guy. In this video, espn profiles him and can bench ridiculous amounts. He looks like he has the potential to be a dominant, game changing, pass rusher.

Everette Brown: age 21 / Florida State / 6-4 248lbs

Season Stats: 32 tackles, 13 sacks, 3 FFs

This guy is good. really good. I have been watching highlights and vids of him as well as other defensive ends and when you watch him play its not hard to see that this guy has alot of talent. He has a plethora of moves and his spin move is lightning fast. he's really athletic, and he has really really good QB awareness. By that I mean he sees if the QB steps up in the pocket or rolls out and he makes the right move to get to him. He also reminds me of a Julius Peppers/Demarcus ware type. Freakishly athletic. I would be happy with either of these guys. For God's sake Buffalo please make the right choice. Defensive end!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila released by Packers?

Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila, the Pack's all-time sack leader(74.5 in 124 games) was released today. Just throwing it out there as a discussion topic, but i wonder if the Bills organization is taking any kind of interest in kabeer given the Bill's anemic pass rush. Kabeer is 31 and it may be a question of whether or not he can produce but although he only has 1/2 a sack this season, he's only started one game. Apparently there were no hard feelings whatsoever about being released as he was quoted saying: "I don’t know what my football future holds, but one thing I've realized is that football is more than a game -- it's about building relationships and changing lives. One of the commitments I've had throughout my career has been to share the gospel of Jesus Christ and that is something that I intend on doing whether on the field or not. God bless the Green Bay Packers!". I don't think the Bills would be very interested in signing him but who knows, he had 9.5 sacks last season and I don't think a player can go from 9.5 sacks to completely ineffective in one season. I attacthed a little poll for fun.

Good article about how important Evans is to the Bills. Very positive about the money he is getting payed.

Hey guys its my first year being in a fantasy football league and I'm not sure which quarterback I want to play this week. The funny thing is my two quarterbacks are Matt Hassleback and Trent Edwards. Purely thinking about point potential I would go with Matt Hassleback but the thing is his two best recievers are injured, his tight end is nothing special and I just don't know who hes going to throw it too. I mean the guy is a pro bowler but the bills secondary should be pretty good this year and I cant see Nate Burleson carrying the team in catches and yards. I like Trent Edwards in this game too though because he has a full stock of wide recievers, Josh reed has been playing well as of late, in the Indianapolis game Evans was getting separation like it was routine, and the bills running game should take some of the pressure off Edwards which I cant say the same for Hassleback. Im still leaning towards hassleback though and the main reason is because of a man who happened to go to the local public school not 5 minutes from my home and happened to have his number retired and his name is Patrick Kerney. I would love some input from some knowegeable fantasy players. Thanks
