Hey guys, what's going on? I am very interested to see what you moves y'all make in the offseason. As most NBA folks know, New Orleans is way over the cap next year and we'll probably be trading Tyson Chandler for peanuts. My question is this, does a move of Peja and a 2010 first for Foster and Tinsley make sense to you? Do you think it is a fair deal?

Our bench has been horrid this year, and getting a quality big and pg would really help out in my opinion. Peja would work in O Brien's sytstem much like Dunleavy who will be gone at the beginning of the year. The contracts also last for the same amount of time. The problem is that this move obviously does not help you defensively.

As for the Hornets, besides helping our bench, this would allow us to use Antonio Daniels, along with some other 2010 contracts as a bargaining chip for a solid starting center. I'm thinking Dalembert will be available with somethiong like that.

Anyway what do you guys think? Am I crazy? Also, what do y'all think you are shooting for in the draft? Thanks and good luck next season.

Trade Idea/ Question

Whatup Philly fans. I'm a relatively recent transplant to the area from Louisiana. The Hornets are my team, but I still root for the sixers to do well. Anyways, as you already know, the Hornets are in cap trouble and we need to make some moves. I keep talking this idea over with my law school buddies, and they seem to like ,soI figured I try it here and see if it sticks.

Dalembert and Reggie Evans for Peja Stojackovic. Assuming that we trade Chandler, a terrible but realistic assumption, we will need to find a player that replaces his defensive ability. Sammy would get enough lobs and open looks from CP3 to fulfill the meager offensive output that we need from the 5 spot. We also have a glaring hole at the backup 4 position, and I really believe that Reggie Evans is a championship quality backup (I know, I know all of my Philly buddies laugh in my face when I say that to them). But he would really shore up our bench rebounding and D.

In return you guys get Peja, who is arguably still one of the best 3 point shooters in the game (he's had a rough spot post all star break, but he'll be back at it this spring, trust me). He is exactly the kind of floor spacer that you need, and I think he would be fine with limited minutes (20-25) a game. You could use him whenever you go "big" with Speights and Brand in the middle and Iggy at the 2. This would really free up some space for Iggy's drives, and for post moves for Elton and Speights. I think the main reason that this didnt work out at the start of the season is that you never had the requisite 3 point shooter for that personnel.

Some folks think Speights is a little undersized at the 5, but people forget that Brand is a great weakside defender with shot blocking ability, and I think that he could do a good job of making up for Speights. In this scenario I could also see Elton playing a little bit of 5 as Hollinger has suggested.

Even though he is pillow soft, I still think Peja is an underrated defender because of his length and his intelligence on rotations. He knows exactly where to be. Just don't put him on LeBron.

Anyways, what do you guys think? Thanks and good luck for the season.

Whatup Wolves fans? I am currently mourning the salary cap move that Hornets made to day, and in the attemplt to chear myself up I started to think of trade ideas. The Hornets could still afford to make a few more moves to get below the cap and I wanted to run an idea by y'all so here it goes:

Antonio Daniel, Hilton Armstrong, and Julian Wright for

Jason Collins, Bassy, and Shaddy.

I have always had a thing for the t wolves role players, and this would allow us to get some cap relief and stock up on a scorer and a good backup. For you guys, I think Antonio is good but he's getting old. I think he'd be a good veteran presence in a locker room that lacks them. Also, I have alwyas maintained that Hilton is the perfect guy to put next to Keniv Love and Al Jeff. He's quick enough to switch on to guard, and he knows how to handle bodying bigs even though he's skinny. He's also become a good team defender. He can't score and he can't rebound, but you guys don't need that from any extra bigs anyway. Juju still has the potential to be agood player but honestly he does alot ofthe same things that Corey does. Maybe it would give you the chance to just dump Corey and save yourself the extra 4 million. So lt me know if this is a pipe dream, or if the deal sounds fair. Thanks.

Amare trade idea

Whatup Suns fans? I'm not too sure how serious folks are about trading Amare but I havean idea that I think might work for both teams. Here it goes:

Amare and Leandro for David West and Peja Stojackovic and a first and/or Julian Wright.

If the Suns are serious, I think this is a pretty valuable package of vets and a good prospect. David West is a 20 point a game scorer and Peja is still one of the best three point shooters. Financially this deal also makes sense because D West's contract gets smaller every year. I think Nash has really been affected by the lack of two three point shooters on the court at a time. I love Grant Hill but he doesn't spread the floor as well as a sniper like Peja would. Julian Wright hasn't been getting alot of playing time this year, but I think he would give you a super athletic stopper and energy guy. If you wanted the contracts to match we could throw in a second and get Duflye in return. Also, David West is much more used to 2nd banana status then Amare. His game is predicated on the high post game. Amare has a sweet jumper, but I don't think he is really used to relying on catch and shoot oppurtunities from Shaq. He has never really had to share the post with another big, and its tough for him to get comfortable in that role. David is much more used to operating in open spaces and merely taking with the defense gives him. He doesn't need to dominate the ball to be effective.

The deal obviously works for the Hornets. We get one of the best low post scorers in the game and an excellent instant offense 6th man which we really need. I love David, but Amare is more efficient, and having him would both force us to pick up our pace (which is when we are most effective) and allow CP to defer more, which is the role in he is most comfortable and effectivein. Losing Peja would also force us to start Posey which will help us defensively. We'd have two big defensive wings who can shoot the three, and Leandro would get about 30 minutes of the bench.

Thoughts?

The game against the Lakers last night was incredible, but we still have to make some moves in order to compete for a chip. Here are a few players who Ithink could work well for us, and a trade at the end that I think would be incredible but would never happen.

Trade 1 is Reggie Evans for MoPete. The sixers are in desperate need of a three point shooter and reggie only gets 13 minutes a game, so he's just a role player. Reggie has no offensive output but he is quite simply one of the top rebounders in the association. He is also an excellent, tough defender who would give our bench even more toughness. I have been really impressed with Hilton's play as of late, but he is just not a rebounder. The problem is even worse when Hilton is guarding a post player with the ball, because our other bigs are even worse in this area. It would also be nice to have another post defender so that Hilton could roam a bit and pick up more blocks. Reggie is undersized but he has some bulk that prevents him from being pushed around and he is a good post defender. He also doesn't blow defensive asignments. This trade would necessitate us getting anouther wing, preferably a score which brings me to...

Trade #2 Julian Wright for Rashad McCants. I likemost everyone else love Juju, but he just isn't getting any burn. Shaddy gives us a wing who can score from outside, drive, and post up. He also has learned to increase his foul drawing rate as well. Unforutnately scoring is his main assett and he still has to learn some things on the defensive end. I argue though that this kid is in a Corey Dillon/ Randy Moss mold. Its funny to me how many players with attitude problems all of a sudden become model citizens when they get traded to a winner. Also, Byron realizes that he needs a 2 who can score points, and he got acclimated to Bonzi, and gave Mike James a chance, neother known for their defense or their character. Shaddy has also had a rough year, but I think he will get out of the slump, and even if he doesnt his numbers are on par with Jannerro's but with fewer turnovers. Also his defensive shortcomings would be covered by having 4 other good defenders on the court, much like what happens with Peja. Also, people don't say this often but Shaddy is really smart. He understands the game which you can tell by hiis cuts and angles, and the many ways he knows how to score, so I think he would pick things up relatively quickly given his age and the complexity of the system. Bonzi did, and I think Shaddy would be even better at it.

These trades also work well because we could re sign Shaddy who is a free agent next year with the extra money saved by trading Mo. Reggie is a million bucks cheaper, so we'd be able to offer Shaddy a starting salary of 3.7 which isn't alot but giving the economy probably the best he'll get. Also, (and this is stupid but still) Shaddy dates Kim Kardaishian's sister, and I'm sure his ole lady would like to escape the frozen north and chill with her sister in the big easy.

Trade 3 I also think Juju or a first and MoPete would allow us to go after Nick Collison or Joe Smith. Nick would be able to play the 4 or 5 though hes a natural 4. Joe is a good vet who alot of teams should be after. Nick might be more gettable because I doubt that OKC would trade a 3 year contract for a 1 year contract. Also, both of these guys have had down years this year.

Trade 4 Rasual for Willie Green. Rasual has played well this year, but he duplicates services we already have. Willie Green is as scrappy slasher with a scorer's mentality. Something we don't have.

Trade 5 These next two won't happen but they are my favorite. Trade 5 Samuel Dalembert for Peja Stojackovic. This goes back to the sixers desperately needing a 3 point shooter. Meet the best 3 point shooter in the game. And he would be surrounded by athletic defenders who would mask his flaws. Two of our biggest changes between this is versus last is our cut in rebounding rate, and dip in defense. Dalembert is also one of the best rebounder in the league and he would gives us a great shot blocking, defending presence on the bench. We could get away with giving him and tyson time together for about 5 minutes a game, just enough time to give him 20 minutes a game. His presence would also allow us to let Tyson play more single man to man coverage on post scorers. It also relieves him of pressure and just lets him go out and play because he doesn't have to worry about getting the team in trouble if he gets early fouls. Dalembert is also cheaper then Peja.

Trade 6 Mo Pete, and Julian or Hilt and maybe a first for Corey Maggette. I know I know, Corey is a selfish player who doesnt play d and who gets injured often. But the guy is an amazing scorer who draws fouls, something we don't do. He also would be masked by 4 defenders. He would slow down the game which is what we like anyway, and it would give the starters even more rest, (slower game means more real minutes go by during gametime) keeping CP fresh for the fourth. It would also allow us to start Posey with Rasual, which I really like the idea of. That is an amazing defensive squad which would give alot of teams problems.

I know these last two are impossible, but the others are doable. Also the big trades would mess the rotation too much, and would probably take too long for everyone to get comfortable this year. But the other moves wouldn't effect us in the same way, because our scoring wing would probably run alot of iso (like Bonzi did) and our backup post play has been so atrocious that any change wiht a compitent vet would be an improvement. Thoughts?

Whatup G State. I know that my juju and mike james deal was pretty popular, but as the Horents are currently enjoying the expolits of Mr. Antonio Daniels (who btw is an instant hit. D oyu think that is because he is really good, or because Mike James was really bad, but I digress), we no longer have any sizable 2010 contracts. The only one we have of some value is linked to Rasual Butler, who I think would work with you guys, but currently he is helping our squad out alot.

So here's my trade idea, and Iwill try to make it long so as to not be banned from this site as my prior attempt to post this was rebuked. Peja and a first for Azubuike and Maggette. We needBuike's contract for the deal to go through, and the Hornets still need a backup big, which Ithink we could get with Buike's contract in a three way deal. Josh Boon in particular comes to mind, and it would be interesting to see the old UConn front court back togeother giving us some youth and length. I know Peja is old and this does nothing for your hopes of getting down under the red for 2010,but I was wondering how unpoular Maggs is.

I guess it goes without saying that Peja, like Juju is just about perfect for Nellie Ball as he is still the best 3 point shooter in the game and he would instantly become your best, most consisten perimeter threat. He also is amazing as a zone busterand would really help keepdefendersfrom colapsing on Monta or Jax, or or any of the other drivers that you will still have. It would be really interesting for me to see Peja playing in a game with the pace that Nellie's club would have. But like I said, he's old and expensive, and his D is as bad as Maggs if not worse, as is his proclivity for being injured.

Not that you are interested but I really think a Maggs trade would make the Hornets conteners for the next three years. We would start Pose and Sual on the wings, and essentially play a defense first efficient shot, smart occasional fast break game predicated on the pick and roll, three pointer, and excellent team d. Then we bring Maggette in to anihilate the second string scrubs. Just constantly feed him the ball till his chucker's heart is content. He'd be surrounded by a facilitaror (Daniels) and adequate and active defenders and rebounders who would be happy to let him take all of the shots. Not a player on the Hornets bench likes to shoot other then Devin Brown. This would slow the game down for the starters to catch a breath and would also put opposing teams in fear of losing their starters to foul trouble should they risk putting any of theim against Maggs. Something I have noticed is that most all championship teams draw fouls at a high rate, something we don't do. Problem solved with Corey.

Anyway I hope that is long enough. Thoughts?

Whatup Mavs fans? I know most teams don't do inter divisional trades, but I had an idea and I was wondering what your thoughts were.

MoPete, Hilton, and a first for Desagna Diop and Wright.

Our biggest hole right now is at the backup 5, and I think Diop is arguably the best backup center in the association. You get a veteran who can defend and stroke the 3 (Rasual Butler has returned to his better days which makes Mo expendable). I threw in Hilton as a addition just so you don't lose any hieght. Hilton is a good defender, but that's about it. And he fouls too much, which kind of negates his good d. Picture one of the Collins brothers minus 25 pounds, or Chris Bosh, if Chirs Bosh could rebound or score.

There ya go. I'm not sure if this sounds ridiculous. Thoughts?

Whatup Suns fans? I imagine that you guys are pretty stoked about the trade as you essentially got a great scorer for peanuts. Anyways, I had a trade idea that Iwanted to run by some Phoenix fans. I imagine some will scoff, but its good to get some perspective. Heres my trade idea.

3 team trade:

Phoenix trades Barbosa and Tucker for Jamal Tinsely, Julian Wright, and New Orleans first round pick.

Indiana trades Jamal Tinsely for Morris Peterson

New Orleans trade Mopete, Juju, and a first for Barbosa.

I think with the addition of J Rich there will be limited shots. Additonally Ukic has not impressed, and the older nash gets the more they need a real backup. Also, Phoenix still lacks for athleticism, and for players with a defensive mindset. I think Dudley is great but he isnt very atheltic. Juju gives you a good facilitator who can play good d, and is very athletic. He actually reminds me a bit of Diaw. And I think Tinsley can still play. Addtionally if you didnt want juju, I think that Indiana would be willing to give us the Raptors pick for him, so that you could get two picks, one of which will probably be a lottery pick.

Tell me what you think Thanks.

Whatup Sactown, I'm a hornets fan, and I have a trade idea that I want to run by yall. How important is Shelden Williams to your team right now. The Hornets really need some bench help, and I was wondering if you would make a move of Hilton Armstron and a second round pick for Hilt.

Hilt is not a good player. He can't score or rebound, and he turns the ball over and fouls too much. But he is a great defender. He is long, and has great lateral movement for his size which makes him a good team and one on one defender, because he has learned how to use his length.

What do y'all think. I know Shelden isnt coming back next year for you, but we sure could use him.

Whatup G state. I was wondering how high the dissatisfiaction level is with Maggette. The Horents were one of the teams seeking his services. Would you consider a trade of Mike James, Julian Wright and a 2010 first round pick for Maggette?

Mike aint much right now, but I was wondering if it would be worth it to you guys since its a 2010 contract, and you get juju and a pick. I like juju alot, and I think he'd be great in Nelson's system. He is a smart athletic swing who is capable and willing to play the 4. He also is a great defender, who gets and is committed to team defense and doesnt require alot of shot, which is something G state needs right now.
