These guys are supposed to be our rivals? Here is the money quote; The Miami players were bigger, faster, stronger, better, smarter, better citizens, better students, better sons, better boyfriends or husbands, nicer to old ladies and animals ... I guess it's unfair to base your opinion of your fanbase on one guy, and one article. But shoot, doesn't this guy have some manner of professional obligation to cool off before he calls out the whole squad like this? They lost a football game. It has happened before, especially at Pitt.
Temple is in town, for a football game, what should we make? What should we make? Duh. I take mine whiz-wit-out thank you very much. On to the steaks…
Well, if you cooked the food last week… at least you had the food. Tailgate Thursday returns home this weak, battered, bruised, but not beaten. And ready to eat and get lit up for a noon...
Sorry in advance for the delay, I am wrapping up a short vacation, and didn't get to this until I got back home this afternoon. Commence Tailgate.....
As we finish our cocktails and get ready for the first game of the season, perhaps we should discuss what’s on the line. Tonight eighty scholarship athletes go to bed with the greatest...
I realize this might fall slightly under the promoting your own blog category, but she’s my Mom, and I promised.
I like them. Please refrain from saying fire Ed, or that you don't care about the basketball team.
I looked this up this evening, I was interested. Nick Saban recently signed a contract extension that keeps him at the University of Alabama through at least 2014. His salaries; 2008 - 3.75...
Somebody had to beat those bastards. Might as well be us. Suck it Jimmy Johnson.
Although I suppose this could have been much worse.
Allow me to respond on behalf of The University of Southern California...
USC is the greatest collection of talent that has ever been assembled in the history of the free world, or in Soviet Russia for that fact. Accordingly, we resign from the coaches poll, because their failure to have us ranked number one in various polls over the past decade was clearly a result of jealousy of our manifest awesomeness.
Also, in response to LeBron James not signing with USC as a free agent...
LeBron James is afraid to compete on the highest level. If he chooses to let insignificant facts like, "USC is on probation" and "I don't play football" prevent him from signing a contract , I mean letter of intent, to play football for USC he is simply not the type of player we're looking for.
When we joined the league, we were treated poorly.....
Boise is second, although you'll note that Penn State has a bit of a higher sample size.
One area of Penn State history of which I've always had a great interest, but found little information on, was the negoations that lead to Penn State joining the Big Ten. I was young at the time,...
I am writing something for another venue about great moments for Penn STate in the past ten years. I've selected the moments, and written the text, but cought a fair amount of inspiration...
What if the #bigten ditched the idea to add one team, and went HUGE?
And it is clearly beholden to "Big Meth".
I think they look pretty sweet.
Every once and a while I troll eBay looking for certain unique Penn State items, I don’t have much of a collection per se, but I like to look and see if I can find anything interesting. I...
Decade in review, Penn State/Adam Talifaro is in it for about 30 seconds starting at 2:07.
Today [yesterday] we played LSU. The last time LSU went 11-2 they won the National Championship. They have won two national titles in this decade, although they have no undefeated seasons. ...
Consulting with jhowell.net I’ve constructed my Penn State decade in review. It’s been a great ten years (by and large). Here are the high and low points as I remember them from the...
If you can get pressure on the quarterback with four guys, you win. If not, you lose. And probably by a lot. That's the entire season, and it's not even sufficient for a fanpost. In order to...
Put on the music about two hours ago now. It's time to rock out. Suicide [prevention] tunes. You know who saved the day? Marvin Gaye, What's Goin' On. The Band chimed in...Tears of...
The thing that gets me about this is that Ohio State allowed this guy to be hyped as the best player in the Big Ten. His teammate pretty much says; "look, he's just not that good right now". You'd have to think that Tressel et al. were aware of this fact when the season started. But where are the Paternoesqe "he's talented, but he's got a long way to go before he maximizes that talent" quotes. Avoiding that might have helped Pryor's ego in August, but the weight of those expectations are killing him in October. Maybe Tressel deserves some blame for not trying to keep expectations slightly more realistic here.
Looking at the Bobby Bowden situation through experienced eyes.
You know that law suit from yesterday that involved Rich Rodriguez that was no big deal? Yeah, it seems that he has business dealing with a booster from Clemson that was banned for paying recruits in 2000 while he was an assistant coach there.
