JOEPA, STOOPS IN PLAY FOR SON OF SIMMS?
this sounds intersting read it over on collegefootballtalk.com:
here is the article link and story below:
http://www.collegefootballtalk.com/2009/02/13/joepa-stoops-in-play-for-son-of-simms/
Former Louisville quarterback Matt Simms, son of NFL legend Phil Simms, will attend El Camino Community College in Torrance, CA, before moving back into Div. 1-A in 2010, Simms’ father told a Louisville radio station yesterday.
"He’s excited about it, and I am excited about it for him, too," Phil Simms told the radio station. "He’s disappointed, and I am disappointed that it did not work out in Louisville. Why? I don’t know. But that’s just the way it is. When you are not wanted, leave."
The younger Simms decided to transfer from Louisville following the end of the 2008 season, partly because of the signing of a JUCO QB and partly because of the departure of offensive coordinator Jeff Brohm.
A source familiar with the situation told Vinny DeTrani of NewJersey.com that the younger Simms was considering both Penn State and Oklahoma.

2008 Rule Changes
I found this and thought everyone might want to see all the new rule changes.
going to the Illinois game
A buddy and I are driving up from Columbus to the Illinois game on Sep 27, 2008. I was looking for a hotel or a place to stay on the way back home since the game is at 8pm. Will be a long game of partying and watching Penn State win. I figure the best play to stay is probably outside of Penn State because by now I probably won't be able to get a hotel room. Can anyone recommend a hotel towards Grove City? or anything towards the west?
Thanks

Sounds like we might take over the dome.
Streaming Games
I was wandering if anyone know of a website that you could watch/listen to the Penn State games. I live in Ohio and Time Warner still hasn't signed the contract for the big 10 network. They always play the buckeye games here and I would love to be able to watch the Penn State games. I also don't really like going to the bars to watch it because all you hear about is Ohio State this and Ohio State that. If anyone knows where I can watch please let me know.
Thanks
Penn State tackle pleads guilty, gets two years probation
BELLEFONTE, Pa. -- Penn State defensive tackle Chris Baker was sentenced to two years of probation after entering guilty pleas in two cases involving two separate fights.
Centre County District Attorney Michael Madeira says Baker pleaded guilty Friday to misdemeanor simple assault and criminal trespass in connection with a fight at an off-campus apartment in April 2007.
Madeira says Baker also pleaded guilty to misdemeanor simple assault for a fight at the campus student union last October. All other charges in both cases were dismissed.
Besides probation, Madeira says Baker must pay about $2,500 in restitution covering both cases.
Baker had been suspended from the team. However, coach Joe Paterno has allowed Baker to start working out again with the squad.

Timmons to serve year in program for first-time offenders
BELLEFONTE, Pa. -- Penn State cornerback Knowledge Timmons must serve a year in a probation program for first-time offenders after being charged with two misdemeanors.
Timmons was charged with disorderly conduct and defiant trespass after an Oct. 7 fight that involved three other Penn State players. One man was injured in the campus fight.
Centre County Judge Thomas Kistler placed Timmons in the accelerated rehabilitative disposition program, which is designed for first-time, nonviolent offenders, defense attorney Karen Muir said Friday. Timmons must also perform one day of community service.
The charges can be dismissed and Timmons' record expunged if he completes the program and does not get into trouble, Muir said.
Timmons was suspended from the team this spring, though coach Joe Paterno recently allowed the backup defensive back and special teams player to start working out with the squad.
