Dansby hit on Ochocinco
Of course, in the 2 min I had to step away from the game for an important phone call, I missed Karlos Dansby's knockout blow on Chad Ochocinco.. I still haven't seen it. I found a youtube video of Chad's reaction and he looks like he is crying like a baby. It must've been a hell of a hit. I just want to see how it happened! Does anyone have a video or a link to one that they can share with me?
Thanks
Let's be real here...
First off, I just want to say that I am a diehard Dolphins fan just like most of you here. Although I rarely post anything on here, I visit The Phinsider on a daily basis, and pay close attention to what is discussed in all the threads. The Fins are one of my biggest passions. Win or lose, the joy I get from seeing our team go out and compete every Sunday is priceless. I root for the Dolphins, and am beyond excited for the team's bright future, and the young nucleus the Trifecta has brought in to hopefully contend for years to come.
Anyways, I don't mean to be a Debbie Downer, or rain on anyone's parade, but every season, I see tons of fans get their hopes up to the highest level. Now, it's great to be excited for the upcoming season - I'm absolutely ecstatic, and can't wait for even our first taste of OTA's, as I'm going through Dolphins' withdrawals. However, I've learned while it's one thing to be excited for our Dolphins, it's another to set too high of expectations, because chances are, with so much unproven talent, it will lead to immense disappointment. No disrespect intended, and I'm not trying to single anyone out, but after going through several promising, yet heartbreaking seasons in the recent years (i.e. Daunte Culpepper, Saban's second year, Ricky's leage-leading season where we lost to the Pats to miss the playoffs in Week 17, etc), it pains me to see people on this site talking about how we've instantly become serious contenders and whatnot.
I'm a realist, and just want to point out that people on here are talking about Vontae Davis and Sean Smith like they're Pat Surtain and Sam Madison, when they have only a season under their belts. Really, they had a good year, but they've got a lot more to show before we just deem them the conerbacks of the future. People are saying guys like newly-drafted Chris McCoy are beasts, when they haven't even come close to proving they're fit to take a snap in an NFL game.
Yes, I'm absolutely stoked to have Brandon Marsall and Karlos Dansby on the squad, but let's see them play in their new uniforms before we pass judgements. Remember when Culpepper came in here? SportsIllustrated said it was the best thing for the Dolphins since Marino, and even picked them to win the Super Bowl. The thing is, anything can happen. Nothing is promised.
And while my hopes are high for this season, and many to come, I'm not sold just yet.

Myron Rolle should be our new safety
This man is so articulate, and an amazing athlete. I would love for Myron to be the quarterback of our defense at FS. Just saw him on ESPN First Take, and he has me sold. I know he only projects to go in the lower half of the draft but he could be a huge steal just by the locker room presence he brings, and how dedicated and able he his to learning. He seems like the type of player every coach wants on their squad.
Thoughts on Chris Long?
Hey there, I'm a Dolphins fan... For a long while there was speculation the Fins would take Long with the first pick. I'm curious to know from diehard Rams fans what you think about him... I was actually hoping we'd pick him over Jake. I'm glad we have a Pro Bowl left tackle now but do you think Chris Long is developing well? I know he's got major potential but is he shaping into the #2 pick y'all thought he'd be?
The Wild Porpoise Formation
That formation the Fins used in the game against the Pats was like Dan Henning's spin on the Wild Hog run by Arkansas with Darren McFadden. It was crazy. Every time the Dolphins used it, they got BIG results. I haven't seen a Dolphins' game with this many Dolphins highlights in i don't know how long.
Anyways, I've been calling the formation the Wild Porpoise.
What name have you guys coined it?
Anthony Armstrong Waived
http://www.palmbeachpost.com/blogs/content/shared-blogs/palmbeach/miamidolphins/entries/2008/08/31/armstrongs_dream_ends_in_less.html
Wide receiver Anthony Armstrong, one of the feel-good stories of training camp, has been placed on waivers, said a source familiar with the situation.
Armstrong, a 25-year-old rookie who used to play in the Arena League, was one of six wide receivers to make the Dolphins’ 53-man roster on Saturday, joining Ted Ginn Jr., Derek Hagan, Ernest Wilford, Greg Camarillo and Davone Bess.
Armstrong’s happiness was short-lived as the team replaced him with one of the cast-offs from one of the other 31 teams.
If another team does not pick up Armstrong from waivers, the Dolphins then could add him to their eight-man practice squad.
Armstrong, who played at West Texas A&M, was one of the surprises of training camp, outlasting a three-year NFL veteran (David Kircus) and three fellow rookies (Selwyn Lymon, John Dunlap and Jayson Foster).
Blessed with some of the best speed on the team, the 5-foot-11, 175-pound Armstrong was the Dolphins’ best deep threat along with Ginn, the team’s first-round pick in 2007.
