Survey about DMB

Hey I know a lot of the members on this forum use DMB for their simulation leagues. I was wondering if those who do could take a look at the following link.

http://FreeOnlineSurveys.com/rendersurvey.asp?sid=4nhmhfpie7yas2i568507

It's a 20-21 question survey, multiple choice...very straight forward. It couldn't take more then 5-10 minutes of your time and is completely anonymous. So if you could fill it out, maybe pass it along to some of the people in your leagues I would greatly appreciate it. I only need like 25-30 samples but I was hoping to get as many as I can. Thanks, I really do appreciate it.

In case you are to lazy to click and read:

Now that all of the American League Top 10 Prospect lists are in, could you provide us with an overall AL Top 10 list?

Sean McAndrews
London

Ask and ye shall receive:

1. David Price, lhp, Rays
What he showed us in the postseason was just the beginning.
2. Matt Wieters, c, Orioles
He could be Mark Teixeira—as a catcher.
3. Brett Anderson, lhp, Athletics
The best player Oakland got in the package for Dan Haren.
4. Trevor Cahill, rhp, Athletics
It will be fun to watch his friendly rivalry with Anderson.
5. Neftali Feliz, rhp, Rangers
Just one reason the Braves wish they could undo their Teixeira trade.
6. Tim Beckham, ss, Rays
Yet another multitalented star-in-the-making for Tampa Bay.
7. Eric Hosmer, 1b, Royals
He could be the best of all the special hitters K.C. has drafted recently.
8. Lars Anderson, 1b, Red Sox
Even if Boston signs Teixeira, it will find room for Anderson in 2010.
9. Travis Snider, of, Blue Jays
Of these 10 guys, he might make the biggest 2009 impact in the majors.
10. Mike Moustakas, 3b, Royals
In a few years, he and Hosmer could combine for 70 homers annually.

Should be interesting given the debate around Anderson. :D

Jake Peavy

So I've been reading all of these Jake Peavy rumors for weeks now and it seems no SD fans are willing to acknowledge that Peavy may have a problem. As a Braves fan, I was wondering if you could take a look at his mechanics and see what you think the future holds for his elbow.

I found this by Chris O'Leary and was curious if you came to the same conclusions or not. If you can't find good video or have to much on your plate already, I understand. Thank you in advance, I appreciate it.

Interestingly enough, they have Anderson ahead of Cahill. I remember there being an awful lot of debate over Anderson when the community poll was given and I must say this is very surprising to me. Nothing against Anderson but I just think Cahill is clearly better.

It's rumored Thames tore his right quad last night against Santa Clara. He is expected to be in surgery today and miss at least the next 6 weeks, likely ending his season. I know John really likes the kid and was targeting him with one of his first round picks; does anyone think this will lower his draft stock enough to make him slide into round 2 or 3? I think it's possible he is there at 60.

Maybe it's just me but I can't seem to find the Royals top 20 for '08.

Did John post all 30 teams or does he usually leave a couple out? I was here last year for the lists but thought he posted them all last season. Thanks.

me I guess but in all seriousness the BNSL is about to start its inaugural season on Jan 1 of '08. I've been playing in sim leagues a few years now but wanted to branch out a little and start fresh. I've read all of the other recruitment threads and every league seems to have a few unique aspects so I hope some of you find our approach appealing. We have tried to make it realistic to a point while trying to make what we hope will be small improvements to the way MLB works. I won't go into detail but we will be using Diamond Mind Baseball's software and their projection disk to simulate our league. Our rosters are 65 men deep and we will have an amateur draft every June and a Rule V draft during the off-season.

Each GM is giving a MLB team and their roster as it was the day the WS ended. We used Cots Baseball blog to get each players salary for a starting point. The team roster limit is set to 65 players so depending on how your teams 40 man looks, you will at least be able to choose 25 prospects from your teams minor league system to make up your reserves. The team payrolls are based off revenue figures, a revenue sharing system and team performance.

The rules are still being ironed out for a final version but if you are interested you can email me at jfish26101@gmail.com and we can go over them in detail. We are committed to making this league a success and having a great time. We want everyone to feel involved so opinions can be voiced on pretty much every issue. If you have any interest or questions, again feel free to email me at the address above. Thanks and I hope to hear from a few of you soon.
