Bloody Elbow What happened to BE.com??

Man I leave the country for a couple weeks and when I come back this has become the PC Blog. What happened? and people are getting kicked off for expressing their opinions? very confused...."DO NOT introduce additional political topics"....haha is Dana White running this website now? telling us what we can and cannont talk about?

Why do we care what Dana or anyone else's opinion is? I don't see how that is relavent to fight coverage.

Please lets just get back to fight coverage and stop taking yourself so seriously BE.com.

Bloody Elbow UFC 100 GSP vs. Anderson Silva?

Big fights are coming up on Saturday, however, the results of these fights might be even bigger news for the rest of 2009. With a stalemate at 185 and no clear #1 guy at 205, the winners of the GSP vs. Penn and Machida vs. Silva, could clear the way for an exciting handful of Super Fights this year.

These Super Fights are what is separating MMA from Boxing and making MMA more popular than ever. In Boxing, it is almost never the case that we see the 2 best fighting almost on monthly basis. So if you're a fan of these big match-ups, then the following results could set up some great matches in 2009.

- GSP over Penn

- Silva over Machida

If GSP can get past BJ this weekend, then we might have UFC 100 lined-up - Georges St-Pierre vs. Anderson Silva (main event). This is a fight that a lot of people want to see, think would be very competitive, and could help the argument for #1 P4P.

If Silva were to win this fight, coupled with a Machida lost, could result in a permanent move for Anderson to 205. Silva has said in the past that he would not go up to 205 and compete for the belt because it is his good friend Machida's division. However, with a lost to Silva, a title shot for Machida could be pushed backed for year(s) due to the competition in the division. A move up for Anderson opens up a HUGE amount of fights in 205 and would keep Silva from getting bored and retiring.

A Silva move up would also open the door for a large number of 185 fighters and make the division competitive again (maybe even GSP moving up).

A GSP win over Silva would establish a huge rivalry at 185 and could produce 2 or 3 fights between the two. This would also open the door for Alves and the rest of the 170 fighters to compete for the 170 belt (if GSP were to stay at 185). Further, BJ Penn would continue to fight at 155 and take on the 10-12 lightweights in the world that could push him.

In any case, it is great to see these big fights being set up and hope it continues for years to come.
