If Wayns gets on the court for the Warriors this week, he will be playing with a little added motivation after going undrafted. Does Villanova's Wright have to start over?

"People are questioning us. If they're saying that I can't coach or we can't recruit, if we don't get it going in the next couple of years, then they're right. Maybe we're not getting it done right now. All of us could have done better. I've said that. We evaluate constantly, even when you're 20-1. The biggest thing is sticking to our core values. Playing hard, every day. Playing together, unselfishly. Playing smart. Having pride in playing for Villanova, more than playing for yourself. Last year, we didn't do that." -Jay Wright

Despite difficulty, the Big 5 rivalries live on

ESPN's Dana O'Neil wrote an article today about how the tradition of the Big 5 has carried on despite the scheduling conflicts that arise each year. Jay Wright commented on the issues that the Big 5 schedule creates for the Wildcats saying, "The scheduling is impossible because you always get caught with an opportunity for a national game that you can’t play because you agreed to a Big 5 game on that date. And it’s not like these are easy games. These are really hard games. But you have to decide, you have to be all-in or you’re out. We decided we would be all-in.’’

One would think the presidents would also be in favor of having every team included in the Big East Tournament.

Wright commented on being an honoree, saying, "To be in that position, where they think that you are worthy of being honored, I’m very, very fortunate that I can help them do some great things. It does make you feel a little uncomfortable. It's just because I’m the coach at Villanova, and that means something."
