"The ruling on the field would not have changed," Aiello wrote

The Charger's were lucky they didn't lose a timeout, because they would have if the equipment had been working. The article also gives an explanation for the equipment failure, so sandy eggo fans can quit crying about Shannahanigans.

Not just the refs.

Both 'controversial' calls, stuck to the play called on the field, so the Chargers can't complain that the replay should have caught it. All that they can complain about is the rule deferring to the call on the field.

In the case of the first call, I personally do not think there was incontrovertible evidence for an overturn of the call on the field of an interception (both players displayed control, but one came away with it, and that was the call), but that does not matter. Because the equipment failed, and the fact that the rule defers to the call on the field in that case.

As for the empty hand, the ref called the play dead so Broncos could have given up on the play (I don't think they had a chance at the ball, but they don't write the rules for one situation, they write them for all situations). So again the rules deferred to the play on the field. And again the Chargers were a victim of the rules of the game, imperfect as they may be.

Looks like someone is asking Chad Johnson to pay cash for his narcissism. I wonder if he wishes he hadn't changed his name before talking to the sponsers?

Colorado Springs without cable

I don't know if I am the only person left without cable or satelite, but I only live an hour and a half south of mile high stadium, and can't watch the Broncos game without going to a bar or on my computer. I probably donated close to $200 dollars to local sports bars to enjoy the priveldge of drinking overpriced beer next to raider's fans while watching Sam Adams attempt a pushup after every play. Does a city of 1/2 a million that is a short drive away really not qualify for a local station taking the game? In my opinion, with more and more games getting shifted to cable channels, the Broncos are loosing a major market simply because they are not broadcasting there.

I realize that alot of you are trying to watch games in other states, and that maybe you don't have much sympathy for my situation. But frankly I would think that living so close to Denver would warrant getting a broadcast. Heck there are many mountain towns that get these games, and they are much smaller/farther away.

Does anyone else here who lives in the Springs area agree?

OK, I'm done ranting now.

I just stumbled across this article about the Giants from several years ago about them using yoga to stretch. The article mentions that the Broncos have used the same practice. I remember reading a story about this in the Rocky during the superbowl days. Do they still do yoga? Maybe picking the habit back up would be a good way to combat the pulled hammy's the team seems to be battling.
