So, who do we want from the Phillies?

Chase Utley is out for a month with a broken hand. Looks like they could use Iguchi. Who would we want? Keep in mind that they are in the hunt for a playoff spot and probably need the Legend more than we "need" him.

This is added in order to meet the diary constraints. I'm sorry I don't have more to add, but I thought this at least merited a discussion.

Mark Buehrle had an MRI!

Here's part of an article from BPro, this is the first I've heard that Buehrle had an MRI:

"It's hard to say that going deep into the playoffs has a downside, but there is something to the idea that the extra innings and shortened off-season can cause problems. The White Sox put a big load on their pitchers during last year's World Series run. Given that, it's little surprise that there's some fatigue issues with the staff. Mark Buehrle and Bobby Jenks are having problems that, for the most part, have to do with the junction of conditioning and fatigue. Buehrle had a precautionary MRI on his lower back, but there was no structural damage found and, surprisingly, Buehrle is still on track for his next start."

Check out the poll on

http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb

We are listed as an option in the Miguel Tejada "sweepstakes." That's pretty funny. I guess we are finally getting some respect.

Note: I am in no way advocating anything involving Tejada one way or the other. Just noting that it is interesting that the Sox are listed as an option. We have been traditionally only been listed in such polls as "other."

Do We Like Reinsdorf?

I was thinking, "Do we still hate Reinsdorf?"

There are plenty of reasons to still dislike him. His continuing role as the svengoulie behind the owners group, his treatmet of his sister, etc.

But what about now. An actual World Championship for the White Sox! Plus, in the past few years, he's given the GM job to an African-American, and the manager's job to Manuel and Guillen, two minorities. These are some big plusses in my book. Also, everyone who has played for him in the past has lots of respect for him. This seems at odds with his reputation. Konerko gave HIM the game ball, for crying outloud! That didn't happen in Boston last year.

So, I was wondering, what are your feelings about Reinsdorf now? Does he get any love?

Ozzie-Man of Letters?

There's an eye-opening article about Ozzie at slate.com in regards to his writing. He authors a column for a Venezuelan newspaper each week. There are some translations of his work too. My favorite one is his comment about closers. Enjoy as you prepare for the game!

http://slate.msn.com/id/2128531/?nav=tap3
