So I got the following voicemail from one of my buddies last night:

"I'm just calling to concede defeat. Best of luck to you and the Tribe in the playoffs. Although I'll probably be rooting for the Cubs."

Needless to say, he's a Tigers fan (we both grew up in Michigan).

I've been lurking on LGT all season - I know, shame on me - figuring that I'd jinx things if I got too excited about this team. Stupid on my part, but rooting for Cleveland sports teams since the '80s, I understand the importance of not crossing JOBU. With the magic number at 3, I figure I don't have to worry quite so much.

Anyway, I was curious whether there are any LGT folks in the Washington, DC area. I'm getting geared up for the playoffs (as we all are), and was wondering whether people were going to meet at a local drinking establishment to watch (thx manchildinbeantown for the idea). I think it'd be great to catch the games with some truly knowledgeable Tribe fans. Let me know.

This is an excellent site (best fans in MLB), and I look forward to contributing. I'll do my best not to say anything stupid, or wax poetic about the importance of Wins or Batting Avg. :)
