And The Valley Shook Now that I've had a few hours to calm down...

I just want to say that I'm disappointed with how the game against Arkansas played out.  We all knew this game was going to be tough, and I don't think anyone was overly confident we'd come away with a win.

But what I didn't expect was for us to lose the way we did.

What I've always loved and respected about Les is that he plays to win.  He makes calls that put his team in a position to win.  He trusts his players to make the plays to win.

But today, for whatever reason, and perhaps it doesn't all fall on Les - I felt like we were playing to not lose.  The playcalling, the few decisions that a game hangs on - it seemed all of them were made conservatively by the coaching staff, and I can't understand why.  This season, and Miles' tenure overall, have been defined by his teams' aggressive, emotional, confident approach to the defining moments of each game.  But today for maybe the first time I can remember, each time we had to make a decision between playing aggressively or playing conservatively, we chose the ladder.

I think that's what hurts about this loss.  Clearly Arkansas was better today, against the LSU team that showed up.  But i'm disappointed because that wasn't the LSU team that I've watched all season.  It wasn't LSU football.

Hats off to the players and all of the coaches though.  It's been a great season and I am proud of the way they've represented this university.

Geaux Tigers!

And The Valley Shook last drive of today was the entire season in a nutshell

Honestly, I've been a supporter of LSU this entire season and throughout Miles' tenure.  But heads should roll after coaching as poor as what was shown at the end of today's game.  And that's not for my benefit - I just watch the game.  The players are the ones who should decide the outcome of the game, and today the players got robbed by our coaching staf.  Today they played a damn good game, and the clutch plays at the end by Lafell and Tolliver put them in a position to win the game.  The poor coaching didn't allow them the chance though, and that's inexcusable.

And that's just today, ignoring the handcuffs that have been on our players all year long due to piss poor playcalling.  We have way too much talent to perform so poorly on offense.  It's time for a change, it's time to find someone who will let what the players do on the field dictate the outcome of the game.  The coaching staff's primary job is to put the players in the best position they can to win the game.  If there was any doubt as to the coaches' performance with this prior to today, there can't be now.
