Let's Go Tribe What Would You Do?

So, as many of you I am disgusted with the recent play of our Cleveland Indians. However, baseball is a long season and their will be ups and downs. One the other hand, I do believe there are important parts of the schedule and I think from here to the All Star Break will set the course for management to decide what it will do throughout the rest of the year. So I will throw the million dollar question out.... What would you do with this team to help it to start playing winning baseball again? I have come to the conclusion besides cutting Kearns and Durbin ( I also think we might see a little bit more of T. Buck at 1st base and maybe Laporta back to the OF?) there is not a lot of answers but the players on the field turning around their individual seasons. So what does everyone think? I threw this out there because I am interested what informed Tribe fans truly think.

Let's Go Tribe Starting Pitching?'s

This off-season has been pretty boring so far, but considering the lack of money the Front Office is willing to spend it is not surprising at all. I do like the signings of Kearns and Buck both of who will probably see some time in the the majors this year. And who knows, maybe the light goes on for Buck and he turns into Nelson Cruz a guy that everyone wrote off as a career minor leaguer and then found his stride. I don't really like the Everett signing just seems like if we needed an infielder that bad we should just let one of the the younger guys get some playing time.

Anyway I digress, the real reason for the post was to get peoples thoughts on our starting pitching situation. We have Carmona and Masterson then we have a mixed bag of potential. Most likely Carrasco and Talbot will secure two spots; leaving us a mixed bag for the last spot. This rotation screams out for another veteran pitcher in my opinion. There are some guys out there left that could be had for relatively cheap (I hate the Colon option). The guy that intrigues me the most in Jeff Francis he is a lefty that has had some injuries and 2 sub par years, but also had two outstanding years and I think could have a bounce back year. I was just wondering every ones opinion on the subject?  Below is a list of available Free Agent Starters. Anyone, you would jump on or would you just let the young guys pitch?

Brian Bannister SP
Jeremy Bonderman SP
Brian Burres SP / RP (Left-Handed)
Bruce Chen SP / RP (Left-Handed)
Doug Davis SP
Justin Duchscherer SP
Jeff Francis SP
Freddy Garcia SP
Braden Looper SP
Rodrigo Lopez SP
John Maine SP
Pedro Martinez SP
Kevin Millwood SP
Brian Moehler RF / SP

"Is it hasty to consider the Indians sellers for 2010? Olney writes of rave reviews for Fausto Carmona, who he believes could transform the team's pennant hopes. An above-average offense, good years from Jake Westbrook and Justin Masterson...you never know. "

Buster Onley ESPN Insider:

Sorry if I did this wrong first time with the Fan Shot. Just thought this was interesting. I think that people think that the Indians offense can be REALLY good and with any pitching it will change their entire season outlook...

What does everyone think?

Let's Go Tribe DYE

Hello. New to the board and this is my first FANPOST if I do something wrong let me know (its a blog so I am sure you will). Anyway, I am really confused why the Indians would not scoop up Jermaine Dye he provides everything the Indians need.

1. Power hitting RIGHT handed bat (HR 31,44, 28,34,27) and an OPS of .800 every year until last year it was .790

2. Fielding is really not that terrible considering Ryan Garko was playing the outfield for us last year. Dye's fielding percentage really has been pretty consistent throughout his career. I understand he might have lost some range so that can be skewed

3. I think Dye would play 1B and DH and maybe some LF. We might need him if Hafner gets hurt again or Laporta needs more time.He would be a great fill in.

4. One Year contract for minimal expense.

4. Finally he is better than Shelley Ducan and Austin Kearns.

Thoughts?

Thanks for the great site and I can't wait for the season to get going!
