Bullets Forever On the subject of rebounding...

Something occurred to me last night. McGee and Blatche are rarely ever in rebounding position when the shot goes up. I'm going to ask you guys to chip in on why that is on the defensive end (aside from chasing shotblocks)...

But on the other side of the ball, Blatche is almost always on the perimeter/wing, and McGee is typically working the elbows. That means one of three things:

1. They're not where they're supposed to be on the floor. Which seems unlikely, unless you embrace the notion of full on rebellion and think that the coaches would allow them to stay in the game...
2. If they are in the correct position on the floor, then perhaps our coaching staff needs to adjust its schemes if offensive rebounding is indeed a priority?
3. They're not anticipating when the shot will go up, in order to give them that split second head start into rebounding position.

What do you guys think? Is there any other explanation (besides the obvious ones like bulk, desire, etc.) that makes sense?

Bullets Forever I Want It All and I Want It NOW! Part 84

We want solid, mature vets that don't have a salary, don't mind playing 0 minutes a night, and actually relish losing and teaching. But, wait, they have to be good players, else their teaching is good for nothing. Oh, and they can't take a roster spot either, because we might not be able to take advantage of every salary dump or roster spot clearing trade that becomes available. They certainly can't have PT, lest some imaginary lack of development happens. Winning/championship experience is a requirement, but God forbid they actually have the nerve to want to play for a winning team...

We want our young mid-first-round draft pick players to play great, mistake free basketball, win, AND be developed. Learning through experience should never come with mistakes and bad play. Not being an anomoly or a draft day steal is not acceptable. Giving maximum effort, day in and day out, even through a lack of results, is something everyone of us is born with, why not them?

We want to win and have high draft picks. We want to lose without establishing a losing culture.

We want a solid veteran big man to tie up 20% of our salary cap for the next five years.

We want a GM who can win championships without the requisite luxury tax penalty or superstar. A GM who tells the owner what the overall strategy is.

We want every trade to be a fleece job. And we want first dibbs to every beneficial trade that happens around the league.

What's wrong with this picture???

An athletic marvel, JaVale has the gifts in place needed to shoot up another 10 spots on this list during 2010-11, but we'd rather go conservative with his placement and look like a fool once he starts pouring on the double-doubles and high block totals. Still a project, but one that could change a few games for Washington this season.

Editor's Note: Bumped. Tried looking for the article but it's not up on their website yet. Look forward to it.

The suspended Washington Wizards guard tells Esquire magazine he wasn't using "longevity thinking" when he took out four guns in what he says was an attempt to play a prank on teammate Javaris Crittenton in December.

As of Wednesday afternoon, the Wizards are waiting on the Cavs to see if those potential deals become an actual trade.

"The ball is in Cleveland's court," one source told ESPN.com. "If Cleveland comes back with a firm offer based on the potential deals they discussed, I think the Wizards will move Jamison."
