I've been a Cardinals fan since the day they moved to Phoenix when I was seven. Through the trials and tribulations of the first few decades, I remained a loyal yet skeptical (and admittedly sometimes cynical) follower. I've lived through the burning hot Sun Devil Stadiums bleachers, the seemingly endless turnstyle of head coaches and quarterbacks, the failed draft picks, the epic collapses, the press conference tirades...so there's no need to prove my non-"fair-weather" status. I still have my Jake Plummer 1998 jersey hanging in my closet. But longevity of support is not the point. The point is how you feel about and support the team now. I love pro football. I love Arizona sports. And I love this team, through and through. Maybe too much. Maybe I feel too elated when they succeed, too disappointed when they fail. Maybe I put too much personal stake into each season, like it somehow reflects my own success or failures. But that's who I am. It's why I put on my Cardinal reds on Sundays, braving the hostile landscape of my rain soaked home in the enemy's lair. It's why I hold my head up high when I see the increased national attention of our defending NFC Champs. It's why I'm still too crushed to watch the last two minutes of our Super Bowl. I am an Arizona Cardinals fan. Dig it
