TV viewing area for tonights game?

Hey Ive seen that website on here before that has the map of the TV viewing area for the games, but can't seem to find it online anywhere. Does anyone on AP know where that map or website is. I know the game is being replayed on NFLN tonight right after it is over but im kind of on the bubble being in Oklahoma, sometimes they show it, sometimes they don't. Arrowhead Pride Day before game Q&A

9-28-03-governors-cup_medium

via cbskmoxam.files.wordpress.com

Right now the Chiefs are probably conducting walk-throughs, studying the playbooks, hitting the weights and the whirlpools, or out playing laser tag with Todd Haley. As the season draws nearer, and games are going to start counting we are going to witness alot of emotional reactions here on Arrowhead Pride. Lots of people are getting into their football mindsets, and with that brings lots of heated debates on practically every thread here on AP.

Honestly I love it like that. This is what AP is all about, everyone coming together like some mosh pit at Ozzfest and have it out. People here are going to dislike certain players and coaches, people here are going to question others fandom, and how long they have been a member or how many comments do they have yadda yadda yadda. If you have never been in a Gameday thread here on AP well your going to have to stop in sometime this year, its really quite a treat! I usually stay away from the Gameday threads while the games are going on but almost always check them out after the game just to read through the comments and see how funny some of it really is.

Seeing as how Chiefs news is typically slow before a game, and tomorrow is the Battle for Missouri, lets lighten things up around here and go with a simple Question and Answer thread just for fun. I'm going to drop some questions, you drop some answers. Its all in good fun, and if anyone has any good tailgating tips, recipes, ideas, or anything drop them in here! Okay here we go......

1. What does your typical regular season Kansas City Chiefs gameday look like?

2. What type of vehicle do you drive, and is there anything Chiefs related on it?

3. What other team, of any sport, do you follow as closely or almost as closely as the Kansas City Chiefs?

4. What is your favorite program on television these days?

5. What is your favorite thing about Arrowhead Pride.

Those are the questions, I'm only going to leave it at five for now, but after a while if someone wants to do a hijack and post a few more questions then have it!

Arrowhead Pride What to do when you can't watch the Chiefs every Sunday?

95567117

via cdn.bleacherreport.net

If its one thing we are all in agreement on here at Arrowhead Pride its our love for the Chiefs. For me I know the players are always going to change, guys I like will retire, get cut, or get traded that is the nature of the beast. Regardless of the situation, how poor the team has been in the past, or who fails to show up at the beginning of the season, right around this time of year I know I will get to see the red and gold on the field. Even though its preseason and to many a completely pointless time of the year, just seeing those uniforms on the field gets me excited. Preseason was always the school is about to start time of the year and the games were about to start counting time of the year, not to mention it was going to start getting cooler and deer season was right around the corner!

Growing up in Southwest Missouri starting around 1990 when I first caught a Chiefs game I was hooked, and up until I shipped out to MCRD San Diego in October 2003, right in the middle of that awesome season mind you, there isn't one instance I can remember of missing a Chiefs game on Sunday. It was my families ritual, it didn't matter what was going on, who was where or what, there wasn't any plans on Sunday if the Chiefs were on. I'm sure many of you have similar stories to that, and continue to enjoy living in an area where you can adjust your schedules to catch each game.

Well this year it seems I won't be watching very many of the games. Just like during my three deployments to Iraq, I'm sure the Sundays I will spend not in front of the television during football season are going to be painful. Luckily in Iraq I would usually get to check the internet once every week or two and see just where we were at in the standings and every so often they would have a game on that we would get to watch. Over there I was in a different mindset though that allowed me to miss the games and not be so upset. While I was stateside I was lucky enough to be able to afford Directv and the NFL package so living in Oklahoma, I was able to watch all the games on Sundays!

My question to Arrowhead Pride today is what can I do, as a person who is about to start working in a specialty role in the oilfields, do to watch the games on Sunday? I'm not very up to speed with the electronics in the world, the phone I have is just a basic free phone, that doesn't get any internet. I don't know if any of you have worked in the oilfields or not, but my schedule is really not going to allow time to take off and watch the games and the pay is something that I just cannot pass up at this time seeing as how they were the first company to even want to higher a disabled veteran as myself.  I was wondering if there is some sort of phone out there that you can actually stream the games on live, or maybe a computer package that I can set up, and at least record the games on my computer and be able to watch them when my shift is over. I know I wont be missing every game, which is a good thing, and actually plan on going to Arrowhead for a few games when my schedule will allow it. The Sundays I do have off I will be able to do my old routine like I did while I was stationed at Camp Pendleton and find a sports bar and a TV early and keep my eyes glued on it.

I no longer have Directv, because I would have just DVR'd them and refrained from seeing any scores until I could make it home to watch them. I'm sure some of you are in the same boat as myself, people who have to work on Sundays or travel alot and miss the games so any information you could pass my way would be greatly appreciated!

Royals Review What if Washington would have quit?

   Streets-trenton_medium
Way back a long time ago where it was actually really cool to wear tight pants, wigs, and make-up (no offense to emo Royals fans of present era) a bunch of British citizens decided they had enough of the King of England and declared Independence. Yes you all know about the Declaration of Independence and how really awesome it must have been to have been flipping the bird to good Ol' Georgie from across the pond. But then something happened, a huge army showed up and started kicking some Rebel butt.

While it was all fun and games a few deaths here and there all these big Rebels were out proudly thumping their chests, much like I do every April at the start of the annual Royals campaign. We all know Generals back in the day didn't like to fight in the winter, well cause it was alot colder back then cause there was no Global warming. But I can relate to these fine gentlemen cause when April rolls around I get pretty excited about Royals baseball for some unknown reason much like they all must have been when they heard the drums beating.

 2004-d03-198_medium

via www.springfieldmuseums.org

The Rebels had a certain fellow by the name of George Washington who they trusted with their little rag tag wanna be Army and thrust him out into the field to try to gain everyone some Independence. Morale was high after the Siege of Boston and everyone was elated. After suffering defeat in the Battle of Long Island our Georgie had to retreat all the way through New Jersey and into Pennslyvania all the while losing at the Battle of White Plains, and the loss of the Fort bearing his own name, Fort Washington. Many people were calling for our Georgie's head, they wanted him out and replaced by a person who's name I will not mention but will only list his rank, just like they do at West Point as General.

While time would prove that certain General was not a very loyal fellow, our Georgie and the boys pushed on, much like Ned and the gang of today. The majority of the populace had already quit on them and turned their attention and loyality back to Tony LaRussa, err,  I mean Cornwallis, Howe and the King. It was as Thomas Pain put it " These are the times that try men's souls"  Many a good man trying to stay loyal to the cause were losing their lives and as Winter crept up on the Pennslyvania side of the Delaware River General Washington knew something had to be done. He had messed with lineups and orders of march throughout the entire campaign and nothing seemed to be working anymore. But he didn't quit, he decided to go on the offensive.

 Passage_of_the_delaware_medium

 via upload.wikimedia.org

On December 25th, 1776 our General once again rallied the troops and set out to cross the Delaware River. On the opposite bank the King of England had rented a bunch of well trained troops much like the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox of today do. These were the elite Hessian troops led by Colonel Johann Rall. Believing they would be drunk due to Christmas Washington crossed the Delaware River and set out for Trenton. What followed was the Battle of Trenton. (It was never proven a fact that they were drunk.)

The original boys in blue took the garrison by surprise in a blinding snow storm and inflicted severe casualties on the rented troops. The Hessians Colonel Rall along with the three other Hessian Colonels were all killed. This genious stroke obviously boosted morale and once again breathed life back into the cause of the Rebellious men wear blue.

While I know some of you may not like how I have twisted this story to involve baseball into it, I see on Royals Review all the time people calling for so and so's head, and this person is horrible and that, and I share your frustration. It is pretty hard to stay in the losing corner week after week, but always around this time of year I start asking random people questions about how we gained our Independance and what it took from these men to accomplish the feats they did and sadly lots of born and bred Americans have no clue. While I admit when it comes to the sabermetrics and alot of the stuff on this site you all discuss I'm left out in the dark, but I have been making an effort to research and learn these traits. Many are complacent with their Made in China fireworks and glad they don't have to labor for the day. While I will also have the 4th of July off I did spend two of them in Iraq. Take that day to actually remember that for all of its faults, and problems, and whatever we live in a land where we can root for whatever team we want, wear what colors we want, call for Ned Yost's and Dayton Moore's heads, simply because Washington didn't quit.

While the victory was still many more years ahead for those Continentals, they stuck through, just like im going to do every single day with the Royals.

Arrowhead Pride Okay for Thanksgiving I will pull a Brett Favre and unretire from my retirement.

 Presidential-pardon-1_medium

via static.howstuffworks.com

Yes that is right, weeks ago I pulled a Brett Favre and retired from posting fanposts on Arrowhead Pride. Well Im back, honestly just because I have a few spare minutes to spare, that is why they are called spare minutes. I doubt I will be on Arrowhead Pride at all tomorrow due to fact that I will be eating high volumes of that precious bird that is currently thawing in my sink. No its not that one that a certain President is pardoning up there, and please dont think this is some sort of political post because it is not I promise, because I will get to the Chiefs!

Okay to the Kansas City Chiefs. As some of you know, well not many of you seeing as how the landscape of AP is constantly changing, you know that I am currently undergoing a move to the Big Apple! Ya for me, great pizza whenever I want it. Well moving really makes me sad, because finally when the Chiefs are doing good, I have to pack up all my cool Chiefs stuff. Including that brand new Lenny Dawson autographed football I got a few weeks ago to go with his autographed helmet and all my other cool stuff. This makes me sad, because finally when I get a chance to brag about the Chiefs to everyone I know, I am only a few weeks away from never speaking to any of them again and living in Jets and Giants country, so yes please feel sorry for me. Because I feel sorry for you that you aren't going to be getting a NY slice anytime soon, unless you are from NY, which if you are you need to hit me up so we can take over some bar there and paint it red!

Yep that guy, the only President from Missourah. Do you think the guy holding the Gobbler got shat on?

Truman-with-turkey_medium

via blogs.nationalgeographic.com

Yes that is right another Turkey pardon picture! Which actually bring me to the ummm Turkey and Yams portion of this post.

Seeing as how we are in first place in the AFC West for now, as some of you would say no thanks to Matt Cassel, or that damned importing Dwayne Bowe, if you were President of 'Mrrka, and you could pardon one, yes one single Kansas City Chief for his play so far on this season who would it be?

Me I would pardon Tim Castille. Yes that is right that same Tim Castille that is always a game time decision to dress, due to the man of men named Mike Cox. The same Tim Castille who threw an interception last year, and immediately caused me yell curse words for about 10 hours straight, that if sometimes I have bad cell phone reception and it starts breaking up I can hear again through the static. Yes that is right I would pardon Tim Castille.

So AP in keeping with a somewhat new tradition, well I probably wont post this next year, who do you pardon on the Kansas City Chiefs?

Fastest defense in the AFC West?

Is it just me or last night did it seem that both San Diego and Denver have faster defenses than we do? I know we can hold our own on offensively with Dex and JC in there, but I kept watching their defenses last night and to me it just seemed that both of them have alot of speed to the ball. Hopefully I am mistaken, and hopefully it doesn't hurt us in the coming weeks.

First snow game on Sunday?

Im watching the weather channel and it appears that Sunday's forcast for Denver is calling for snow showers. Anyone think this is going to play into the strengths of the Broncos? So far we are 1-1 in games with poor weather.

Question about NFL commercial

Has anyone seen the one commercial they play on CBS, its kind of like a mini highlight reel, and it has Bernard Pollard being stiff armed by a Titans player? Has anyone else seen that the name on the back of the jersey has been taken off, and all you can see is his number? Ive noticed this several times and vaguely remember the commercial being around last year, and his name was still on the jersey. Wonder why they did that? If anyone knows let me hear about it.

jrcnc's solution to the JC/TJ issue.....(sarcasm)

Here is my solution to the Jamaal Charles and Thomas Jones situation, trade them both to the Eagles for Michael Vick. Okay seriously though that was a joke, but if you all notice certain trends here on AP we go week to week with a completely crazy idea, last week it was bringing in Michael Vick because Cassel sucks and Vick looked good, this week the JC/TJ issue, what is it going to be next week? Chambers grumpy after his 2 catches? Berry disgruntled with his lack of INT's cause because Haley is now calling defensive shots? Nick Wright takes over Ryan Succop's job and kicks a 75 yard FG in Overtime for us to down the 49ers and we were stupid and this is further proof the 2009 draft class was a waste? Calm down folks, the season is brand new, we are half way throught the FIRST QUARTER of the season, we are winning. Some of you out there are going to give yourselves heart attacks and high blood pressure with all this stuff! All I have to say is, GO CHIEFS! and I really think that Battle guy should get some more carries, damnit he looked good in preseason right........:)

Anyone going to the Chiefs Colts game?

Hey I'm about to by the tickets this week, is anyone heading up there or from that area that plans on going to this game? We are going to drive up from Oklahoma so if anyone on here wants to get together and tailgate let me know on here.

Chargers fans. It's inexcusable. If the Chargers were perennially awful (something that would not be all together unfamiliar to Chargers fans), it would be one thing, but how much success does a team need to have before people can be bothered to go see them? If you live in San Diego and refer to yourself as a Chargers fan, you can go ahead and spend your Sunday detailing Gilbert's loincloth.

over 1 year ago Chiefshelmet_tiny jrcnc 0 comments

• Speaking of invalidating wins -- and yes, this opinion is heavily biased -- the Chiefs win over the Chargers was a textbook example of a "the better team just kind of ran out of time" game. Goofy weather always helps the underdog, the Chargers made a few mistakes that snowballed, and the Arrowhead crowd provides the most tangible boost to a home team in the league.

Arrowhead Pride Proper planning prevents

Proper-planning-for-sheds_medium

At some point this season, I fully expect our Kansas City Chiefs to get exploited. I am already embracing the fact that some team out there, I do not know which, is going to figure something out on us and use that to their advantage. Whether it is exploiting our defense, finding flaws in our offense, or shutting down our special teams I am preparing to witness it on televison. After the jump I will tell you all what we have on our side that is going to help minimize this exploitation.

Arrowhead Pride Thank you for getting NASTY!

Arrowhead3_medium

via assets.sbnation.com

As I fully expect this post to be bumped away in a matter of hours once the faithful wake and start blogging, I wanted to say Thank You to the defense for finally getting nasty! That goalline stand is something I am never going to forget. Great job, but I'm sure they know it, my biggest Thank You goes to my fellow fans!

For once in a long long while I felt the electricity from Arrowhead Stadium in my living room. From the opening Kickoff until the victory formation, the fans were there in full force getting NASTY! Rain soaked, losing your voices, you stood your ground and backed up our team. The announcers kept mentioning it, I kept mentioning it at home, and now the entire country knows that the new Arrowhead Stadium is rocking, so you better not come knocking!

Even though we still have a long ways to go, starting with Cassel, it feels good to sit down on my couch and know I'm going to lose my voice along with 80,000 others. It feels good to see you all up there, taking up the camera shots. Last night the cameramen tried to zoom in on some Charger fans but with no luck, there you were filling up the shot. Seeing all of you up there, and knowing many more from across this country and others stayed up late, changed our weekly routines just to watch this game fills me up with pride.

See all this started months ago, bringing the fanbase back into training camp by moving it to St. Joseph. Giving us something that we want to watch and go out and root for. Seeing a defense that is littered with first round picks getting out there and yes I'm going to say it again, getting NASTY, is what Kansas City Chief football is all about. This year the Chiefs Will get nasty, the Chiefs will get their fans back, the Chiefs will surprise the league, the Chiefs will struggle at various things, but this is a team that has a certain pep in their step. There is no other place I wish I could have been last night than up there with you, but I'm happy I found Arrowhead Pride.

We have all been here for months talking and debating. Yesterday the fans were out there in full force starting at Eight O'Clock in the morning. The participation in Red Friday isn't just limited to Kansas City, I know all across the country people were out there. Last night on the typical Monday Night Football shot of the host city there were buildings in downtown Kansas City that were lit up with Arrowheads. People from all over the country who thought we weren't going to play hard in this game, saw first hand what a motivated city and fanbase can do for their team. While the stats won't be pretty in some areas, there is one stat that is always overlooked and that is the difference the fans made. You did make a difference, you got into Phillip Rivers head, he should have gotten a flag for unsportsmanlike conduct for kicking that ball, you all that were there really ushered in the New Arrowhead Stadium the right way, the Chiefs way.

Not only did you usher in the New Arrowhead Stadium, just stop for a second and pat yourselves on the back, because out of all the rookie classes in 2010, our Chiefs rookie class by far got the biggest welcome. You all had to have had a difference in helping them calm their jitters and butterflies. This rookie class is getting born into something that is going to be great. Not only them, I'm 100% sure that the reason Glenn Dorsey and the rest of the Defense got NASTY tonight was because of all of you. That is the first time I have seen Dorsey play that way, that is the first time I have seen all of the secondary pumping the crowd up and feeding off your energy in a really long time. I wish I could be in the meeting rooms when they come in today or tomorrow and just hear what Coach Haley tells the players. I think he is going to tell them that if they can keep this up, they will have 12 players on Defense, and all season long the fans will be behind them, and that has to be a good feeling for these young guys and ones that were here and never felt it before!

Soon we will have the best breakdowns coming from Joel and Chris, Kalo, and Bewsaf. Comments are going to pour in and posts are going to churn out at a cyclic rate, so while I can't be up there with you all, I will say Thank You again to all that were there, and Thank You for getting NASTY again on National Television for all to see! Nothing but smiles and props go out to all of you from me, and its a priviledge to have watched you all last night and cheered with you from afar!

A better Chiefs team was visible on defense and special teams, while the offense struggled. But defense has been such a problem in K.C. for the last decade, the performance against the Chargers provides them with hope.

Arrowhead Pride Need a place to catch the Chiefs game? (updated)

Ready to see this guy in action yet?

Whew, I was going to put this up last night but after a huge Rosh Hashanah (Happy New Year by the way from the wife) dinner and a few glasses of wine it was time for this Chiefs fan to hit the hay! Let me tell you if you have never had authentic Jewish food you are missing out, this backwoods Missouri boy has put on a few pounds since he put on that ring!

Anyways here is the list of establishments that Chiefs fans from across the nation have gave up to me in previous posts. Ive compiled this list mostly this summer so if anyone has a new spot, or know of some place where Chiefs fans gather on Sundays let me know and I'll add it to the list. Even for those like me that feel like they are on a Chiefs isolated island if your ever on the road or visiting family in one of these areas, hopefully this list will get you surrounded by a few other fans to catch the game!

I know alot of chain restaurants like Hooters and Buffalo Wild Wings show the games on Sundays. Some of these people can actually franchise or adopt certain locations as the official headquarters of their team, like the Hooters in Oceanside, CA is the "Eagles Headquaters". When I was stationed out there that is where I had to catch the games and they always had a huge following of Eagle fans that showed up on Sundays and hung up banners and such. Im very interested to know if there is a Chiefs place out there like this? After the jump is the ever changing list.

Arrowhead Pride 16 games 16 beers (pt. 1 weeks 1-8)

Spaten-optimator_medium

via www.brew-dudes.com

Under a week until we get to real meaningful football. As much as I like the preseason, I'm glad it is over and we can finally get to the games that count. This post is going to highlight a plan that I put together over the weekend. While some of you traditionalists will stick to your one and only beer for game day. This is going to be a weekly breakdown of each and every beer I will consume starting with week 1 and going through week 8 in this post. Shortly before week 9 starts I will let you all know the beers I will consume to finish out the regular season, and hopefully have up a postseason beer breakdown!

Obviously these are all my own opinions. I do not encourage or promote underage drinking. Hopefully this post will be something where all the beer lovers on AP can get together. Im very interested in hearing about your local brews seeing as how many on here are from far away and hopefully one day will have the opportunity to taste them all.

"Beer is living proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy." -
  --  Benjamin Franklin

Week 1: San Diego Chargers at Kansas City Chiefs. Brew of choice, Spaten Optimator.

One of my all time favorite beers that I just starting drinking two years ago. While on my honeymoon in Disneyworld, my wife and I stopped at Epcot, the only place you can drink in Disneyworld. In Epcot they had the little Germany setup and immediately I tried this beer. Spaten Optimator is from Bavaria, and pretty hard to find in Oklahoma. Luckily being a Marine stationed at an Army base, they have alot of German connections here like the food and festivals. Apparently someone else here has a taste for Spaten Optimator and I just recently found it. This is the beer I have decided to open the season with!

Week 2: Kansas City Chiefs at Cleveland Browns. Brew of choice, Boulevard Pale Ale.

Uhh the Browns, seriously why can't we beat them? Week 2's beer is one that I'm sure many of you are familiar with. I have never been to the Boulevard Brewery and this is the only option of Boulevard I can purchase so far away from Kansas City. If the game turns out anything like last years, by the fourth quarter I may be pouring a few shots of Jack in with these beers!

Week 3: San Francisco 49ers at Kansas City Chiefs. Brew of choice, Budweiser.

Back in the days when the 49ers had Joe Montana and Jerry Rice, the beer of choice for my old man was Budweiser. Im going to drink Budweiser week 3 to reminisce about the good old days. The Chiefs back in those days fielded pretty good teams and I can always remember hearing the beer pop open on those Sundays. Budweiser is one of my favorites believe it or not.

Week 4: Bye week, Im open to suggestions here if anyone has one.

Week 5: Kansas City Chiefs at Indianapolis Colts. Brew of choice, whatever they serve at the stadium.

As of right now, my wife and I will be attending this football game. We haven't bought tickets yet, but this is probably going to be the one Chiefs game I get to attend all season. Seeing as how the wife is a Colts fan, I hope they have some good brew at the Stadium. If the plan falls through and we don't get to attend, I have selected this as Bud Light weekend!

Week 6: Kansas City Chiefs at Houston Texans. Brew of choice, Sam Adams Octoberfest.

Seeing as how by this time Autumn should be in full swing, and Halloween is only two Sunday's away, I will start my seasonal beer intake. Top the list every year for me is Octoberfest by Sam Adams. I have actualy already been scouring the stores for it here and have as of yet been unsuccessful in locating any. By the 17th of October when this game takes place Im confident it will be in the stores and ready for me to drink!

Week 7: Jacksonville Jaguars at Kansas City Chiefs. Brew of choice, Spaten Oktoberfest.

After drinking Spaten Optimator at Disney, and finding it locally, I tried the Oktoberfest. This is a perfect autumn beer. Not my all time favorite in that catagory, but pretty high up there. Its actually ranked number one here. I don't hold much stock in the rankings of beers by others, just like mock drafts, and point spreads, if you haven't tried this beer I would highly encourage it. This is a week that the Chiefs may be on top of the world if we do good the previous two weeks, or yeah we could be flat-lining. I will have a little satisfaction that Sunday no matter the outcome due to this brew.

Rogue_dead_guy_ale_2_medium

via 4.bp.blogspot.com

Week 8: Buffalo Bills at Kansas City Chiefs. Brew of choice, Rogue Dead Guy Ale.

This game, being Halloween and all calls for this beer. All the Chiefs pumpkins will be carved and setting out front. Hopefully the pesky trick or treaters will stay away until after we win. I really want to celebrate a good Halloween, see all the cool costumes and people dressed up at Arrowhead and sit back and enjoy a highly celebrated beer. I actually saved a bottle of this (empty) after I enrolled at a local eateries World Beer Tour. Its very good and just makes you feel Halloween.

So that is weeks 1-8! I will be back closer to the start of week 9 like I said and have the end of the year beer list. To close out the season you are going to see alot more beers that are widely brewed and distributed such as my new last game of the year favorite seeing as how we are usually down in the dumps Milwaukees Beast! Last year was a pleasant surprise though.

Like I mentioned up above I'm very interested in reading about some of the local brews available to all of you out there. Drop a few lines in the comments and let me know about the brew and I will try to find it and try it out. Also does anyone here work in a brewery? Other than working for the Chiefs in some capacity I think working at a brewery would be flat out awesome, especially in the beer tasting department!
