Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed how one of the most storied (it makes me sick to write it) rivalries in College Football has become one of the "who cares" games of the year. After hearing Charlie (Northern Fat Boy, Fat Phil's Southern Cousin, etc......)Weis run his mouth about Michigan, then try to back-up faster than a politician, that is about the only fire that will come from this game. I hope that this game much like I did last year, ends in 0 - 0 tie. I use to like Michigan, a little, and I always lothed ND, but after some of the Maze and Blue haters decided to chime in on RBR and show their ignorance, there is no way that I will pull for either team. This will be one of the most boring games of the year.

I can't remember in all of my over 40 years of being a Bama fan, can't remember any one Wide Reciever that has the hypa and hope of the Bama nation so high. I truly hope that he lives up to it all and we can enjoy some magical catches over the next four years. With that being said, it got me a little nostalgic, and I began to debate with others who are the greatest recievers in Bama history. I know we didn't always pass the ball much, through the 70's and 80's , but some great ones came through. So I am going to make my list and would like to see some other thoughts.

1. The Wizard of Oz, Ozzie Newsome

2. Joey Jones

3. Tyrone Protho

4. Don Hudson

5. Dennis Homan

6. Albert Bell

7. Paul Bryant (ok, I'm cheating a little, so bite me)

8. Kevin Turner (ok he was a FB, did you see some of the catches he made)

9. Patrick Hape (again a personal pick, I know him)

10. Well. my mind has gone blank, so how about a little help!!!!!

there was a program about the Alabama football program, and specifically about Coach Saban. I thought that it was tremendous. It showed our football team in a great light especially the players and the attitude they have and the spirit of winning, pride and commitment that I have not seen there in ages. Rashad Johnson was one of the players interviewed and he was well spoken and very upbeat. I was very impressed by him as well as the rest of the players talked to.

But most of the time of the show went to Coach Saban, and was I completely blown away, WHAT A GUY! His work ethic and attitude with the players was one that I was more than impressed by. I would send my son to play for him, not just because of the football knowledge but because of the commitment he had to the players as young men and students also. The academic center they showed was something else too.

I truly believe in Coach Saban even more than before, and the man that he seems to be. I look forward to many years of not just great football, and great football players, but great young men that will come from Alabama, having been coached by a great man. Roll Tide.
