I feel like I need a shower after linking to PFT. But hopefully this is true.

It makes sense: La Confora reported it was Reese and an unnamed other. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported Kahn was a finalist, but then based their assumption Reese was the other off of La Confora's report. Lately John Clayton has reported that Schnieder is still in the mix.

So hopefully, it's Kahn & Schnieder as the finalists, and Reese was simply trying to do some self-promotion and create a market for himself.

Field Gulls Seattle signs Edge, according to PFT.com

James Signs in Seattle

Got to say that if this is true, IMO it's a head scratcher.  Mainly because of what it means for the bottom of the depth chart - makes it a lot harder for Forsett to stick again.  But James & Jones seem to be the same RB to me, at this point of their respective careers.  So I don't see an upgrade, or an effective platoon.  Unless this is a clear indication they think duckett won't cut it as anything more than a short-yardage guy.

Phillips plays SS, is 6'2", 220lbs and '09 will be his age 30 season.  He has a rep as a good run defender - the Tampa fans that I know pointed to his absence as one big reason why the Bucs run D caved over the last few games of '08.  The downside is that Phillips has problems staying healthy: he's only played one full 16 game season his entire career.
