Opinions wanted: Article on Lee for MVP

Dayn Perry writes in Fox sports that his choice is for Lee as MVP and one of the statistics he uses is from Baseball Prospectus. RBI opportunities and RBI-Per-Runner. It shows something that has been talked about here all along - No one on base in front of Lee, fewer opportunities. His RBI-per_Runner is higher than the players he's compared to; Pujols and A. Jones.

I've felt all along that Lee has been more vital to the Cubs success, than Pujols or Jones, although I feel Pujols is awfully close.

Thanks Al, for your Blog, your attitude, and your pointing me to Retrosheet. I distinctly remembered some details of the first baseball game I ever attended in person, but I didn't remember the date. I found it at Retrosheet. 6/4/71 at Dodger stadium. Claude Osteen Vs. Tom Seaver.
First Cub Game,at Wrigley, lots at Dodger Stadium, was Mets Vs. Cubs on 9/23/90. I think it was Fan Appreciation day. Sat in the first row by the Cubs bullpen. Gary Scott was honored that day for being minor league player of the year! Hector Villanueva tossed a foul ball he caught,while protecting the bullpen pitchers, to my friend on the left of me and a foul ball off, I believe, Howard Johnsons bat, hit the TV the guy to my right was holding. He was watching the Bears game on the TV! Me? I just got to enjoy the game, even though we lost. What a great game Baseball is. I now live in Ohio, married a girl from Wheaton, Il and my best friend from High School, in California, is a native of Illinois. Guess I was just destined to be a Cub fan even if I grew up watching the Dodgers.

He's slumping, he's been hurt in the past and his OPS has been dropping yearly. Is this the LF we've been looking for and what would it take to get him if he's not just another player that had a good rookie season and never perfroms near that level again. We already have a LF'er like that but seems to me the upside on Kearns is better than that of Hollandsworth, who I prefer off the bench. I'm interested in your thoughts, especially since Cincy seems to have a logjam in the outfield anyway and could be selling, cheap. Or....do we already have a better player in Dubois if he can just start taking some walks like he did in the minors?
