The origins of the WerdumFace—finally revealed
The WerdumFace.
If you haven't seen it, you haven't been on an MMA site in months, and if that's true, I wanna know how the heck you're reading this article. (Seriously. Telepathy? Braille computer monitor? How are you conjuring this magic? I mean, I JUST posted the image, like, one inch above. So obviously you're lying about never having seen it. Why would you do something like that? Are you just trying to be a jerk or what?)
Anyhoozers.
A lot of people have been throwing around theories concerning where the face came from—his strange sense of humor, the 4chan troll face, localized seizures or strokes—but I've finally pieced together the evidence to come to you with the truth:
Emotional trauma. And only one man is responsible...

Anyone know of Chicago bars showing Strikeforce on the 12th?
Me and my Ukrainian girlfriend (who loves MMA, thank-you-gawd-for-the-blessing-I-have-recieved) are desirin' of some Fedor ass kickery. Unfortunately, while the UFC has taken ahold of the bar scene here in the Chi, it's way harder to find places that show Strikeforce.
You would think, with the hype on the tournament, and the fact that our native Belarussian Arlovski is on the card (I used to see him walk his pitbull in the mornings. Dude was flossin)... Somebody has to be showingthis thing.
Any ideas?

Mini documentary about Bruce Lee. His wife recalls seeing him defeat a challenger by submission. Proof that Lee was using mat work in fights?
Dan Hornbuckle's BJJ
Here he is, part of a HL, fighting with Team Megaton in the 2007 World No-Gi Championship. Only a blue belt but insanely talented. Check out the "sprawl" at 2:22.
I've seen Hornbuckle fight MMA twice in person, and I've seen him fight twice in BJJ tournaments. He was even more terrifying in the tournaments.
Check out a very cool guard pass -- arm drag -- triangle combo he throws in this video.
Cung's Missed Throw in Round 2
At 1:35 of the second round, Le attempted a judo technique against Smith and only succeeded in moving Smith around for a few seconds. Mauro Ranallo, in his infinite wisdom, referred to it as "almost a judo-type throw, almost looked like a, uh, maybe an attempt at an uchi mata," pronouncing those last words uncomfortably.
Nope. Nice try. But instead of just yelling at my TV, I thought I could diagram the throw Cung DID attempt—my personal favorite—the Harai Goshi. I've also included an example of the throw done correctly.

There is a rumor in the MMA blogo-knitting-circle-osphere that Brock Lesnar submitted Gabriel Gonzaga in an informal grappling match recently. Its also rumored to have been debunked by a Lesnar teamate.
The announcement of the grappling upset was detailed and well-written, showing some effort towards sounding authentic and journalistic. No real sources can authenticate the story or the denial by Lesnar's camp.
Is there any way that real MMA journalists can be heard better when stories like this appear weekly all over the internet?
"Paul Malignaggi Rips Judges' Decision, Boxing After Controversial Loss"
The post-fight rant in all it's glory, with Malignaggi ripping boxing to pieces immediately follwing his controversial loss. It's telling that even the HBO interviewer acknowledged he would never get fair judging in Texas
