Rotoworld says that TLR says he might rest Glaus once per series.   We'll see what happens, but this comment could be interpreted to mean that TLR is ready and willing to give a lot of playing time to Ryan (and hopefully not Miles).

I know this is an old subject, but does anyone know why the Cardinals ended their agreements with Louisville and Arkansas oh so many  years ago?

 

 

My guess is that Luna can be acquired for next to nothing, if Toronto has not already released him.

Also,

a) he can play ss and 2b
b) he can probably be signed for not much money
c) LaRussa always seemed to like him

Two questions--

1. Do you think the Cardinals will try to get him?
2. Do you think the Cardinals should try to get him?

If the Cardinals start the season with Kennedy at 2b (likely) and/or Ryan at ss (maybe likely if they don't resign Eckstein) and they want an inexpensive Plan B for either position, is Luna an option to consider?  Or are there better cheap Plan B's out there?  Luna is a known quantity, good and bad, to the Cardinals.

My assumption is that the Cardinals are not going to spend a lot of money on a backup infielder to use in case Kennedy tanks again.
