Moved to Oakland in '73. I Loved everything about the A's right from the start. Crazy uni's, crazy owner, mustaches and long hair (not allowed by most teams), and winners on the field. I endured the late 70's, I was there for BillyBall, the Bash Bros, and then... Moved out of the Bay Area in '91, but I've never wavered, I'm an A's fan for life- (probably NRAF unless I win the lottery) unless some owner pulls an Irsay or an Al Davis. That might tear it... Now, finally, after almost 20 years of only getting to see maybe 3-10 games per year, either when they made the playoffs or were playing the Red Sox, I can finally watch nearly every game, thanks to CSN!

A Fan Of...

  • MLB Oakland Athletics
  • NFL San Francisco 49ers
  • NCAAF California Golden Bears
  • NHL San Jose Sharks
  • NBA Golden State Warriors

Headed to bed, 4-6-3. This has been a spirited discussion without rancour, which I heartily enjoyed.

This is true. I'm not exonerating him, just admiring his feats, which is what I beleive the Hall should do.

I'm not sure Beltre gets in or anything. If he does, it will be more or less a validation of WAR as a counting stat, I'd say.

I don't see Fielder making the Hall. I think Cabrera should make it eventually. I also see Beltre getting there...

It is just as likely that Vogt cools off by October as it is that Reddick rides the pine in October.

There are many AN'ers who are a bit 'different'. (I.E., highly interesting). Trainman is amongst the most different of all!

Norris/Jaso/Vogt def trumps Terry, and I loved Terry. Doolittle hasn't had as much time as Eck, but he's been performing better than Eck, and it's not controversial to say so.
