"The naming rights partnership between our stadium and LIVESTRONG provides an opportunity to spread...

"The naming rights partnership between our stadium and LIVESTRONG provides an opportunity to spread health and wellness messages that emphasizes the spirit of cancer survivorship. LIVESTRONG’s focus is the fight against cancer and the support of 28 million people around the world affected by this disease, and we believe strongly in this mission. The statements made last night by the Lance Armstrong Foundation speak for themselves: moving forward and continuing the fight against this horrible disease."

Sporting CEO Robb Heineman responds to questions about Sporting Kansas City's connection with the Livestrong Foundation in light of the Lance Armstrong doping investigation.

Thierry Henry Will Miss Match Against Sporting KC This Weekend

A little bit of good news, at least for Sporting Kansas City, in regards to their match this weekend against the New York Red Bulls. Kristian Dyer, who covers the New York Red Bulls, tweeted the...

Lance Armstrong to be stripped of Tour de France titles, will receive lifetime ban from cycling

I know this has nothing to do with the game of soccer, but it does have to do with the name of Sporting Kansas City's stadium, Livestrong Sporting Park, and if the club will want to continue to be associated with an organization founded by Lance Armstrong. For me, it's a no brainer. I have absolutely no problem with Sporting Kansas City being associated with Livestrong, a foundation that has raised millions of dollars in the battle to fight cancer. Did Armstrong take performance enhancing drugs that helped him win seven Tour de France titles? Maybe. But even if that's true, it doesn't change the positive impact his foundation has had. Sporting Kansas City and the Livestrong foundation agreed to a six year deal back in March of 2011.

Thank you, Kei Kamara. Thank you for saving Sporting Kansas City from what would have surely been a disappointing result Saturday afternoon at BMO Field against Toronto FC. Kamara's 83rd minute...

Supporters' Shield Race Heating Up

With the win against Toronto FC, and San Jose's 3-1 loss to the Montreal Impact tonight, Sporting Kansas City now only trail the Earthquakes by one point for the Supporters' Shield. It's going to be a crazy end to the regular season.

Three Questions with Duncan Fletcher of "Waking The Red"

Sporting Kansas City will take on Toronto FC up at BMO Field tomorrow night. The last time the two teams met, Sporting Kansas City were able to come away with a 2-0 win at Livestrong Sporting Park,...

US stun El Tri 1-0 for first win in Mexico in 25 years

And of all people to score the game-winning goal for the US? Michael Orozco Fiscal. Crazy. Graham Zusi came into the match in the 60th minute. Matt Besler, although an available sub, was not used by Jurgen Klinsmann.

Manchester United land Lucas Moura?

I'm not sure how reliable the Mirror is (I'm stateside), but they're claiming a transfer fee has been agreed to. I'm hoping it's BS.

Sebastien Le Toux Traded From Vancouver to New York Red Bulls

Traded from the Philadelphia Union to Vancouver before the start of this season, Le Toux heads to the east coast in exchange for Red Bulls midfielder, Dane Richards. Rather odd to see such a good player shufflle between teams like this. Reminiscent somewhat of Dwayne De Rosario's journey last season.

Dynamo Defender Geoff Cameron To Join Stoke City

Definitely a big loss for Houston (not that that's a bad thing). Great news for Mr. Cameron if this actually goes through.

Winning Technique

"There is nothing inherently more talented about Brazilians or Spaniards when it comes to the game than Americans, and when the greatest player in the world stands at a whopping 5′ 7" after having growth hormone therapy because he was a stunted little runt, I’ll submit that maybe we are looking for the wrong things when we start assessing talent." Great piece from James Staritt over at SportingTimes.net on American soccer. It's a few weeks old, but I'd highly recommend giving it a read if you have a chance.

The Footy Chronicles Interviews Jimmy Conrad

Isaac Knopf of The Footy Chronicles got a chance to talk with Kansas City soccer great Jimmy Conrad. Most interesting to me was Jimmy's candor when it came to talking about his exit from Kansas City, and his relationship with Peter Vermes. Awesome stuff from one of Sporting KC's youngest bloggers.
