Just an avid lacrosse fan, one who follows the sport daily and loves to give my opinion on the entire sport. Creator, editor and writer of SB Nation college lacrosse blog COLLEGE CROSSE. Spent two season's working for Coach Desko and the Syracuse Orange lacrosse team as a student manager where I learned more about the sport in one month then I had in 19 years.

I reside in Manhattan, New York and grew up on Long Island.

Studied writing and sports journalism in college and have written for Inside Lacrosse, the Springfield Republican and Patch.com (AOL Owned).

Started writing for SBNation in November and have loved the opportunity they have given me. As the sport of lacrosse grows, I hope to see this website grow as well.

Love all the feedback from everyone!

Is Nike really praising Syracuse and knocking, oh, I don't know, Cornell or Hopkins? You decide and sound off in comments. Regardless, the commercial is pretty sweet and makes us all remember again just why it is we all love lacrosse.

The Future is Here: Inside Maverik's 60 Second Commercial

Maverik Lacrosse debuted their feature 60 second commercial during the Towson-Johns Hopkins game on Friday night. Over the past week, the commercial has been to the lacrosse world what the...

"I just went in and played the best I could for my team," he said. "I saw the ball really well today." One half of the Syracuse Orange goalie rotation, Matt Lerman, on his first career start in the Carrier Dome. Expect to see a lot more from Lerman in coming games. The kid can flat out play and is one of the better ball stoppers Syracuse has had in the past few years. More to come on Lerman, as we will speak with him later this week about the 2012 season and what it meant to start Sunday's 12-7 win over Albany.

Connor English becomes newest member of Cornell Big Red

Ben DeLuca and his Big Red just got a major boost to their already scary attack unit as former Virginia Cavalier Connor English has transferred to Cornell and will be eligible to play for DeLuca and the big Red in 2012. A Long Island native, English played with Rob Pannell and Steve Mock over the summer, both L.I. natives as well. English was a highly touted recruit out of high school and never really found his way on a crowded Cav's team. With guys like Steele Stanwick, Chris Bocklett and Matt White in front of you, English always seemed to be the odd man out. English has 17 points in two seasons under head coach Dom Starsia. English will fit in nicely with the Big Red, who lost senior David Lau, a guy who put up 28 goals and 21 assists from both the midfield and attack position.

Some answers to the holes at the Syracuse midfield?

This might answer some of the questions and concerns I wrote about two weeks ago with the Syracuse Orange offense as a whole. In my mind, this really opens the door for Tom Palasek to be the quarterback of this 2012 Orange offense. It seemed many of you fans agree that Palasek is the man you want leading the offense. There is no doubt Marasco has shown signs of excitement from the midfield and a player of his caliber will be able to adjust to the position. The only thing is Marasco is a little undersized for the position, but it will be interesting to see how he fits in.

Someday's I sit and wonder about the next great MCLA team to make the jump to division I. Arizona State has been to the MCLA championship game and lost to Michigan by a goal in 2010. Don't forget about them as a potential option to become the next MCLA team to make the jump to D-I.

2012 NCAA Preview: #18 Colgate Raiders

The Colgate Raiders were an interesting team in 2011. No star players that really jumped out at you. No big wins that stare you in the face and make your jaw drop. Their 11-5 record does make...

Derek Boogard: A boy learns to brawl

I know we have some hockey fan's on this site and this article from the New York Times about former NHL enforcer Derek Boogard is one of the better expose's of the life of fighter in the NHL. It talks about the road Boogard took to get to the NHL, the fights, the opponents, the battle's with prescription drugs and fears of fighting some of the league's toughest and strongest men. John Branch of the New York Times was able to speak with Boogards parents, Len and Joanne about their beloved son, also known as "The Boogeyman." The article also talks about the trauma the brain takes from repeated blows to the head from opposing fighters and what years of ultimately bare knuckle fighting can do to a person. A great read and the video's, "An enforcers story: Punched Out" are great to watch as well.

The guessing game: Who will emerge as the go to guy for the 2012 Syracuse Orange?

As the 2012 preseason All-American list was released on Tuesday, a quick scan of the list, (first and second team) saw no Syracuse offensive players on the list. Strange for Syracuse, but could it...

I.L. releases 2012 Coaches Rankings

No surprise here as the top two don't change between the coaches poll and the media poll. Virginia and Duke one and two respectively. Syracuse takes a big jump going from seven in the media poll to four in the coaches poll. Bucknell cracks the top 10 as well. Coaches top 10 looks like this: 1. Virginia 2. Duke Blue Devils 3. Johns Hopkins Blue Jays 4. Syracuse Orange 5. Cornell Big Red 6. North Carolina Tar Heels 7. Denver Pioneers 8. Maryland Terrapins 9. Notre Dame Fighting Irish 10. Bucknell Bison Sound off in the comments below. Team previews and College Crosse rankings to come over the weekend and coming week.

Sad news from Princeton lacrosse

The wife of Princeton men's lacrosse team Chris Bates passed away after fighting cancer for almost ten years. Ann Bates was 43. As we talk about many times, the lacrosse world is a tight knit community and anytime anyone passes away its a shock and shame to everyone involved in the sport. Our condolences go out to Coach Bates and his family, as well as the entire Princeton lacrosse family.

The dog days of Syracuse

We all know what has gone down in Syracuse the past week and a half. With the firing of Bernie Fine, the school has been put into the media limelight. Front and center. In the lacrosse world, the...

Former Syracuse Orange coach and legend Roy Simmons Jr. to speak at Syracuse Stage tonight

For all of you in the Syracuse/CNY area, don't miss the chance to see legendary Syracuse coach Roy Simmons Jr. speak at the Syracuse Stage tonight (more info in link above). For those of you have haven't listened to a Simmons Jr. story or heard the man speak in public, Simmons Jr. is a man who brings every story to life and leaves every listener in awe. I had the chance to listen to him speak before the 20009 and 2010 men's lacrosse teams at Syracuse and his pre-game speeches were unforgettable.

The Art of Lacrosse

It wasn't all that long ago that I met two men who truly define what the saying "art of lacrosse" really mean.  Alf Jacques and Vincent Ricasio are two men who have kept the sport of lacrosse alive...

In case you missed it...

It seems the sport of lacrosse is starting to get some more national recognition as two of the sports biggest names were nominated for awards at last night's 2011 Espy Awards. Cornell's Rob Pannell was nominated for the Best College Athlete of the Year while Virginia's Dom Starsia was up for the Manager/Coach of the Year. Both men lost in their respected categories, but still big news to see the sport gaining some national spotlight and be recognized as one of the top college sports in the country. Also, Maryland's hidden ball trick was one of the final 16 plays that fan's got to vote on and the Orange's Tim Desko's behind the back goal against Starsia's Cavaliers was in the opening montage.
