Why couldnt the Giants just make a trade with the Marlins who are trying to cut payroll? I was thinking they should try and get Dan Uggla and Cody Ross. Uggla hit 31 Hr and 90 rbis. Cody Ross hit 270. with 24 HR and 90 rbi. They both have relatively small salaries and the Giants wouldnt have to give up a TON for them. But i dont know exactly what the Marlins would want. What would u give up for Uggla and Ross? The lineup would be this:

3b Sanchez

Rf Ross

1b Sandoval

2b Uggla

C Posey

Lf Velez

Cf Rowand

SS Renteria

Would it not make sense to just add 2 pieces to our lineup that would make us an above average offense? Well, I know those two pieces. Those two pieces are Chone Figgins and Matt Holliday. Both of them could be easily placed into the lineup and the lineup would look like this:

3B-Chone Figgins

2B- Freddy Sanchez

1B-Pablo Sandoval

LF-Matt Holliday

C-Bengie Molina

SS-Juan Uribe

RF-Nate Schierholtz/Andres Torres/Eugenio Velez

CF-Aaron Rowand

P Tim Lincecum/Matt Cain/Barry Zito/Randy Johnson/Brad Penny

Set-Up- Jeremy Affeldt and Sergio Romo

Closer-Brian Wilson

Now that is a playoff roster maybe even a championship one and I have not mentioned names like the likes of Jonathan Sanchez, Buster Posey and Madison Bumgarner. They could potentially be trade bait for other bats. And forget Edgar Renteria, please.

The Giants Needs

go giants

I really dont understand when people say that the giants need to get starting pitching. That's our strength. I would love to go into the playoffs with lincecum, cain, johnson and zito pitching with sanchey in the bullpen and wilson closing. That is a championchip formula. But, the bottom line is we need offense. We need a 2 hitter and a 4 hitter. We need to get 2b Freddy Sanchez from the Pirates and Lf Matt Holliday from the Athletics. I would to go into the playoffs with a lineup of rowand cf, sanchez 2b , sandoval 3b, Holliday Lf , Molina C, Winn Rf, Renteria SS, Ishakawa/Aurilia 1b, pitcher. I think we could beat any team in the national league.

I think for first baseman we could even get nick johnson for a prospect or two. I think we have something special and should go for it.

yankees still 3rd in the al east?-I say no

I've been hearing alot of analysts saying the yankees are going to finish second at best in the al east. they think either the rays or the sox will beat us out. i think we will win for many reasons.

Yankees-They are going to win for these 3 reasons:

1. Additions- We have been the most active team obviously. We have signed the three best free agents available. With Sabathia,Wang,Burnett,Pettite{he will sign eventually because with so many pitchers available he will get nothing more than what the yankees 1-10 M offered.}and chamberlain we have the best rotation in the al east in my opinion{yes, even better than the sox's beckett, lester, matsuzaka, wakefield, penny and the rays kazmir, shields, sonnastine, price, garza. With teixeira that gives us a lineup of damon{LF},jeter{SS},teixeira{1B},a-rod{3B},posada{C},nady{RF},matsui{DH},swisher{CF},cano{2B}.THAT is the best lineup in the al east.To go with a good bull pen we are DANGEROUS!!! I expect us to win 98-100 games this year.

2. What's bad about the rays and red sox-The rays basically just snuck up on teams last year. They're not going to do that this year. They won 97 games last year. I expect that to drop to 92 or 94 wins. For the red sox they didnt get any better. All they did was get a washed-up brad penny. I say the yankees got 8 or 10 wins better.

3. We're the Yankees- If something doesn't go as planned we could always make a trade. I do expect everything to go pretty smoothly, but hey, if it doesn't we could make a move.

i have been hearing rumors that we were going to try to use phil hughes as our fifth starter if we dont get andy pettite.i think we should forget about that and andy pettite and just go out and get either sheets or lowe. we have the money and i would rather have sheets because it is on the short term.he is a 1 or a 2 starter on any other team and he is just going to be the 4 on ours. I would give him a 2 year 30 million dollar contract.

manny ramirez is a MUST for the yankees.who is going to be our #3 hitter? He could slide easily into that #3 spot in front of a-rod and that can be BETTER than the manny-ortiz duo that terrorized teams for years. we could hace a lineup of damon-jeter-manny-a-rod-posada-nady-matsui-cano-swisher. to go with a starting rotation of cc-aj-wang-pettite or lowe or sheets-chamberlain. all of this combined with are bullpen we could really be dangerous!
