Looking for Broncos Fans in the Chapel Hill area

Hello MHR community,

This summer I moved to Carrboro/Chapel Hill North Carolina.  I lived most of my life an hour south of Denver and lived the good life of getting to see every Broncos game every season.  I've been looking into ways to watch the games out here.  I'll probably try finding streams online via howtowatchfootball.com and going to the sports bar alone in hopes of finding another lone Orange and Blue fan.

But then I thought, well I'm a part of this fantastic community, so maybe I should look here.  I'd love to find some people in the Chapel Hill/Carrboro area that are just as crazy about the broncs as I am.  Whether it's getting together with somebody who is lucky enough to have Sunday Ticket or meeting at a bar, I'm always willing and I'll always buy a round.

So if you're a Bronco fan in this area and are looking for someone to watch games with too or just to be friends, give me a shout in the comments or email me (My address is on my SB nation profile page).  Hopefully, we can support the best team in football together.

Go Broncos!

OK, folks. Some thoughts from a day at Broncos camp:
1. Kyle Orton on arm strength ???s: "Perception in this league is kind of comical to me; I can make every throw that I ever need to make."

Simms on no QB competition: "There probably are people that would've jumped off the top of the building if they named me the starting QB."

I keep hearing about Orton's lack of arm strength but he overthrew the speedy Eddie Royal on a deep post.

The defense has excellent coaches, but not sure it has the personnel to excel in a 3-4. Fields is solid at NG, but where's the depth?

DJ Williams admits that he's still adjust to 3-4. Says it will take time, but that guys are coming along quickly, particularly at LB.

There is no shortage of optimism, despite outside perceptions about team. The Cutler drama broke the day that Brian Dawkins was being ...introduced, but Dawkins told me he would have signed with Denver even if Cutler had already been traded. Interesting.

The Broncos tied for the NFL lead with 7 red-zone turnovers in 08 (4 ints, 3 fum). Orton's career RZ #s: 12 tds, 2 ints.

My apologies to Orton: He has thrown 22 tds in the red zone.

McDaniels incredulous that no one is talking about Pats' effective running game when he was there. Says Broncos will run effectively.

Cutler's shadow still looms over org. Check out interesting quote about this when SI's preview mag comes out. (that's called a tease). lol

As blasphemous as it sounds, I think the offense will be better this year if Marshall is on the field _ particilarly in the red zone.

My issues are w/ the front 7 on defense. It needs upgrading. Secondary could be good, but age/potential injuries are a concern.

A nice summary article. Some actual reporting. It seems that once reporters actually attend camp, they see that there will be no problem on offense.

"Keep in mind, Orton had a .636 winning percentage after two years in Chicago, where he received substantial playing time. His supporting cast in Denver is significantly better than what he had in Chicago. The offensive line is one of the better units in the league and he has a full complement of

Tucker also realizes that, while there are still issues on defense, it is a better unit than last season

If you want to understand the battle between the MSM and the blogosphere, this is it in a nutshell. Leitch, the author of the hilarious and widely read Deadspin, goes head to head against Bob Costas and Bissinger, author of Friday Night Lights, and they blow their lids and the more they talk the older they sound.

NSFW language.

Carucci jumps the gun and lists his top 10 matchups on NFL.com. A couple of teams have 2 games listed (Patriots, Panthers, Steelers), but the Broncos are the only team with 3 games on his list. Here's the games he's picked.

Broncos v. Patriots
Broncos v. Chiefs
Broncos v. Eagles

UPDATE: The press conference has been moved back to 1:30 pm MDT.

Pretty self explanatory. Kyle Orton and Chris Simms will be introduced at 11am mountain time today and they will take questions from the press.

It sounds like mostly speculation to me, but NFL.com is citing a Cleavland newpaper saying that Denver could trade the #18 pick to the Browns for Quinn.
