A common notion is that employees are constantly being watched. When they arrive and leave, where they’re going within the building and who they’re talking to. Indeed, the technology exists at the Chiefs’ offices, as it does in many corporate settings, to monitor phone calls and emails. But here, some staffers even hesitated before using their cell phones or speaking inside the building, because, like Haley, they suspected that conversations were monitored.
"As a coach or decision-maker in an NFL building, you don't care what round they're drafted in, you don't care who drafted them. You don't care if they're short, fat, whatever. You just care: Can they play? So all that other stuff is poppycock.
The problem is, there's so much misinformation. For people that study it, you'd see that we've probably had more shotgun or spread offense than anybody in the league over the last two weeks. We're up 30% of what we were in the first four games.
The goofy thing is, it's almost like if he doesn't have success it will be anybody's fault but his. It's almost that kind of polarizing thing. They'll say it could be his supporting cast, or the type of plays. At the end of the day, we are what we are. We're doing everything we can to win, and we're finding out about a young quarterback, good, bad or indifferent."

Broncos Fans: Defend the Stands
I want to talk about one play from the Lions game. Easily the most embarrassing play on all levels for the Broncos in recent memory.
http://www.nfl.com/videos/auto/09000d5d8239d43b/Young-scores-on-41-yard-pass-play
Titus Young scores a 41-yard touchdown after Brian Dawkins and Andre Goodman messed up and leave him wide open in the end zone.
That's not the most embarrassing part of the play. Young then proceeds to jump into the South Stands and the fans let him. The South Stands for cryin' out loud.
Young made it out alive and unscathed. That wouldn't happen in Oakland or Kansas City. It would happen in San Diego and I'm afraid Broncos fans may be headed in that direction.
The Lions showed no respect for the Broncos on the field and after the game. The Broncos let them. Then they showed no respect for the fans and the fans let them. Broncos fans shouldn't be doormats.
Next time a player tries to jump into the stands, push them out. Pour beer on them. There is no rule that you have to let a player jump into the stands. He should understand the risk.
Of course, Titus Young understood there was no risk in the South Stands anymore. He understood that Broncos fans have been tamed.
So please, Broncos fans who are able to go to games, toughen up. Protect our house. Just because our team is going to roll over doesn't mean you have to. Do not let yourself and your Broncos brothers and sisters be disrespected.

Tebowmania in Pictures: Scenes from game day in Denver
David Jacoby reports for Grantland and paints a less than flattering picture of Broncos fans. If you didn't think we are the butt of the jokes, think again.
Vickerson to IR
And another DT goes down. This is going to hurt a lot. Big Vick was a huge part of our defensive improvement.
Growing Up On NFL Violence In A Violent Neighborhood
Ta-Nehisi Coates, senior editor of The Atlantic, writes for Deadspin about the appeal of the violent nature of the NFL for him growing up. He uses Steve Atwater as his prime example.
DirecTV brings NFL Sunday Ticket to Android tablets and the PS3 this fall
Now you don't need to sign satellite contract to buy Sunday Ticket. Still expensive, but it's clear the NFL is trying to reach as many people as possible including the new wave of people who only stream their video and don't subscribe to satellite or cable.
Despite what you hear or what's been reported, Kyle Orton hasn't been told anything about his status. Nada.
According to ESPN, Denver has signed former St. Louis Ram TE Daniel Fells. He's listed as 6-4, 272. Here's the best highlight I could find of him.
Wrapping up Week 1 of Football: A list of my thoughts
Howdy fellow Broncos fans!
Thanks to the poor season last year and the lockout, I haven't contributed anything more than the occasional comment to this community. When football came back this week, I once again became obsessed, constantly checking Twitter and Broncos blogs for updates. Hooray! Back to football.
This first week has been frenzied - although less so than it was hyped to be - and over-analyzed, but I felt it necessary to organize my thoughts and summarize my reactions to this first week in an easy-to-read list format.

Broncos WR DeMaryius Thomas just tore his achilles. More info to come. It happened during an offseason workout in Georgia. Still not sure if it was a full or partial tear.
Filed by myself and @AdamSchefter to ESPN: McDaniels to Rams as offensive coordinator is now a done deal.

ESPN Page 2 interviews Mark Leher, Owner of FireJoshMcDanielsNow.com
This is who the media thinks represents Broncos fans. As the kids today say, shakin' my head.
Ted Bartlett's thoughts on what others think of Josh McDaniels
Classic Ted article:
"If the McDaniels regime is allowed to continue, and some better defensive talent is acquired, this team will win more games. The offense will gain continuity from repetition, and the defense will have better depth (a huge problem right now) and the key players will also mostly be in their second year in the scheme. If Pat Bowlen gives in to the idiots in the local MSM and the fan base, and fires McDaniels, we should get used to losing, because it’s bound to continue in the near term. I’m just glad to see that Bowlen seems to be keeping calm about this."

Jay Glazer provides some additional details about the video controversy. Says Josh McDaniels knew how illegal video taping worked in New England and that his coaches are beginning to turn on him after they got chewed out by McDaniels in front of Pat Bowlen after Raiders blowout.

CSU Volleyball coach Tom Hilbert becomes all-time winningest coach at CSU
The win was the 11th in a row for the Rams (21-2, 10-0 Mountain West Conference) and made Hilbert the winningest coach in school history in any sport. Legendary men's basketball coach Jim Williams' teams won 352 games and lost 283 during his 25 seasons at the helm.
Hilbert's record in 14 seasons at Colorado State University is 353-87.
Get a free 9" x 12" unframed Broncos photo of your choice
The Broncos have opened up a new photo store and to celebrate the grand opening they are giving out coupons for $29.95 (the price of an unframed 9" x 12" photo). Shipping is $6.
So basically for $6 you can get a photo of your choice. The selection isn't great right now, only current players and shots of Invesco. Most of the photos seem pretty plain, but there are some cool ones. I got the one with all the old helmets sitting in front of the 2 Lombardi trophies.

How the new CSU Mascot came about
The guy who runs the CSU football blog Ramifications is also the guy who is the brains behind the new mascot. Whether you like the new design or not, it's interesting to see how it came about.
According to Baltimore Sun, the #Broncos @ #Ravens refs average 145 pen yds/gm, most in the NFL. Most PI (10) & 2nd most holding (15) calls
Inactives: 3rd QB Quinn, CB Thompson, RB Moreno, FB Larsen, G Daniels, G Olsen, T Clark, WR Decker

Day 6 PM Practice Video
Here's the visual proof of Bay Bay lighting it up.
Rookie #88 Thomas is lighting it up
How about some good news? Bay Bay Thomas looks to be the real deal. He even beat Champ and then broke Bailey's tackle attempt. Can't wait to see him on Sundays.
Kenny McKinley + Josh Barrett on Injured Reserve. Jamal Williams passed his physical and is off PUP.
Filed to ESPN: Denver LB Elvis Dumervil suffered a torn pectoral muscle during Wednesday's practice that will sideline him indefinintely.
