So last week my post did not get go over well. This time I took the advice of my fellow fans, seeked out a sport bar and watched the Dolphins play! The Fins were playing very well, Ginn played great and the running game got going!

We have to give credit to the offense again establishing another drive late in the game when needed to go down and score the winning field goal!

It is encouraging to know that the Fins have the ability to come back and score some points. Next week the Patriots are a much better team than the Raiders, and the Dolphins are going to need to stay solid and play with no mistakes in order to win.

The Patriots are one of if not the hardest team left on te Fins schedule. Cassel is improving and is learning to manage the game and their running backs are getting healthy and they have a better idea of how on the 6-4 Dolphins play. We all know that the Pats are not the team they were last year but they are still able to capitalize on little mistakes and because of that have the ability to gain a large lead.

I know you all will not agree but they are just thoughts.

A win is a win I will take it, but to be on our heels against a team riddled by injuries and losing to everyone in the league is horrible!

Matty please do not post next week that it would be a good idea to see henne when we are up in the fourth.

I live in New England so I only see what happens over NFL.com but it seems like our D was not where it needed to be, but Ted Ginn and Ricky Williams seemed to look pretty good today.

The regime will have the team back on track next week but still this is Embarrassing!

Last Point on a QB

With Matty's "ideal draft" again people made their points for a QB. Heres the thing, the Fins stink right now, they have no supporting class to help a young QB or any QB succeed. They are rebuilding! Therefore I believe, no matter who the Fins take, Ryan with the first or Henne/Flacco with 32nd they will struggle. Beck was taken in the 2nd round last year, what makes people think a QB in this draft will do better on the Fins this year.

My thoughts are you keep Beck there now, rebuild around him with a better OL, better WR, give him a good running game and a defense. If he does not do a good job then then the Dolphins draft a good young QB to excell with the supporting cast.

This weekend I went to a coaching clinic in New England where various coaches from Division I-A and I-AA come to speak. I sat in on a couple sessions with a defensive assistant who coached against Matt Ryan in the season, coached against Chad Henne in the season and last year coached against Brian Brohm when he coached in the Big East.

He says Brian Brohm is just coached well and did not blow him away when preparing to face Louisville.

Chad Henne is the most fundamentally sound QB with the best arm and awarness he has seen. He can stand in the pocket and avoid the rush and make some great throws. He also stated that Henne played the whole year with a bad shoulder and sprained knee.

When I asked him about Matt Ryan he said Ryan can make some plays that makes you turn your head and say WOW (Like looking one way then throwing a strike the other). But hes not fundamentally sound, does not have a strong arm when gets flustered he throws poorly and seems to panic. Ryan always trys to make a play and makes bad decisions most times. When Michigan State played BC this coach said he was very surprised that Matt Ryan was not only suppose to be the #1 QB but the #1 player taken.

You make your opinions, but after speaking with him and seeing some game tape of Ryan at the clinic I am sticking with my gut that the Fins should not Draft Ryan.

If your a fan that really wants a QB then hope for Chad Henne in the later rounds.

As one memeber wrote early the Dolphins have 8 Million needs in the offseason. A lot of people are putting Gelnn Dorsey in as the Fins 1st overall pick in this years draft. I think he would be a great addition and a good pick but I think we also need a CB, a LB, a Saftey and stan out WR maybe a OL to protect a QB which we may also need.
Thoughts on top 4 picks

Ask me a couple months ago, I had hope. I thought we could keep Cam in and re-build a team. I thought our O-Line was decent and the D needed help and we could develop into a good team down the road. Now I know we have injuries but the o-line is falling apart the D still looks bad and the team needs a lot of work. The Fins need a coach and staff to draft well and make the right moves in the off season. I am tired of this team being embarasement. The highlight now are pitful but I like seeing Jason Allen, Will Allen, R. Wright, Crowder and Joey Porter coming on strong as of late. I want to see Beck, Ginn and the O turn it on so I can have hope.
Thoughts

Well its another loss... but we have been accustom to that. And as a fan we need to find the good in anything to have any hope to keep sane. I was unable to watch the game, but some hightlights I look at. Jason Allen is showing he is not a bust with 5 tackles and 2 INT's. This probably will make a lot of people happy. Channing Crowder has 12 tackles, Joey Porter has been picking it up as of late... and for the big one... Ted Ginn leads the team in recieving today and had a punt return. I know it is sad to say but you need to find hope somewhere. The offense looks solid it just needs toe score when they get the opportunities and the defense needs to come up with stops when needed.

Rebuilding Team

As a Dolphins Fan let me just stress how bad it sucks to see the Fins in the state they are and that I am already looking to next year.

However the fact that the team had come out and said this is a rebuilding year is such a relieve. Next year the team will see some minimal success but will be well on its way to the top. I definitly think the team should trade Jason Taylor the Fins can get late first early second for him and let him play in a place he can win. The team should start playing young players like Rod Wright, Quentin Mosses, Derrick Pope, and lets see what Jason Allen really can do; they lost when he was on the sideline so can he really do much worse. Then in the draft the team should address the defense and put together a roster that can build together, and finally find out what Beck can do, if Ronnie can come back from a blown knee than the only weakness on the offense I see will be the quarterback. Keep the team and staff together and let them grow. Thats the way to win.

Team Revamp

So many fans of football really urk me with their thoughts on building a team. They think they can go in and trade and pick up and sign who ever they want, with out thinking about a.) the money b.) that a Free Agent has an opinion on where to go it is ultimately up to the player.
Also this season is tanked, the Phins should still prepare to win and try to do it every Sunday, but they need to play for development and respect. It is very difficult for a new coach to come in bring in a new staff and players and expect them to compete as a successful team. There are talks out about bringing in Bill Cowher and revamping this and that, however what people neglect to understand is that there is an whole trust and chemistry issue. Start with the coaching staff, the part of the Phins recent suckyness in the last years is the change of Offensive Play caller. The Phins have had 3 different ones out of the last four years. No way will I be against Bill Cowher coaching which I do not think it will happen, but give Cam Cameron a chance to put together his team, let him find players to fill voids and to built respect with.
On my opinion of the team, well the offense looks decent to me, I can not watch them play alot but they seem to click, but the defense puts us back a few points we do not have the talent to score quickly. Plus penalties kill. I say keep the Offense intact. Do not change the o-line, cause the need to gel. The quarteback is the only change that I can not make. The Defense however is a problem, its too old with not enough replacement. Next year let JT and ZT go some where else to win a championship, you can not hold it against them, they put in their loyal time. Also get something in exchange so the Phins can better themselves. Let younger players develop, put Jason Allen in at safety NOW so what if he gets beat no one else is doing a better job. Same goes for Daniels. Give Derrick Pope a shot, he did well when he played as a rookie and he has the size, hes been on the team for some reason. Let Roth and R. Wright develop and let Joey Porter and Channing Crowder lead. If we go into next year knowing its revamped and a rebuilding year then we have no expectations. The Phins need draft right too, and it starts on D.

Your thoughts?

I am not one to write off seasons with only 1/4 of it already completed. However the Phins looked horrible on Sunday, I never liked the idea of getting Green and releasing Culpepper, but it happened. What I find funny is that some people may say we can look forward to the first round pick of the draft. Although that may be a little pre-mature, heres the funny part: who would the Phins draft first, we drafted Beck with the second so we all know the Phins won't take Brohm or Brennan. We have Ronnie Brown so no McFadden or RB. Ginn, Chambers and Booker will prevent them from taking a WR. Our offense looks solid I think, we need defensive help but who drafts defensive players within the Top 3 draft picks. And thats what I think is funny.
On another note, Beck is a rookie, but Beck could throw 4 picks vs. Cowboys and two vs. the Raiders. I say give the phins and Green a little more time; if it still goes the way it is going then intergrate Lemon and Beck to give this team maybe a much needed spark.
