Silver And Black Pride My dream draft for the Raider Nation...

I know the 2009 football draft is over but I wanted to make one last dream mock draft. Half of us are disappointed with our draft and the other half are feeling positive that it will work out. I think my picks would have had all of us happy and not arguing with each other. This is with our original draft picks and not trading down with NE in the 2nd round. Okay boys, here it is!

1st round pick 7 Eugene Monroe OL-he dropped to us, has too much talent and upside to pass up, could be the anchor on our o-line for the next 10 years and would help J.Russell maximize his potential by not having to worry about his blind side

2nd round pick 40 Ron Brace DT-some people felt that Brace was better than Raji at Boston College and has the ability to eat up blocks in the run game, he would definitely help to upgrade our 31st ranked run defense

3rd round pick 71 Ramses Barden WR-big boy at 6-6 230 and would be our possession receiver, perfect to move the chains and in the red zone for the fade route where we struggled, ranked best blocking WR in the draft and would help our run game soar

4th round pick 126 Michael Mitchell SS-I really think he still would have been here as I probably liked him the best out of our picks but if he wasn't then I would be fine with Eugene and Branch being our starting safeties. If Michell wasn't there then I would have picked: Jasper Brinkley LB-he would also help our run defense as he could man the middle at 6-2 270 and move K.Morrison to the outside with T.Howard for a pretty scary linebacking core

6th round pick 202 Fui Vakapuna FB-my final pick in case Oren O'Neal doesn't recover from his injury and to help our three headed monster of RB's to go off this year

Tell me this wouldn't have been an awesome draft for us as we would have addressed every single one of our needs to help this team back on the winning track. All are studs and have upside, no attitudes and no reaching would have had to be necessary to accomplish this.

Silver And Black Pride Holy Freaking Shit!!!!!

Al Davis, are you freaking serious????? We had E.Monroe, BJ Raji and M. Crabtree all on the board and we take D.Heyward Bey because he had the fastest 40 time. He barely can catch the freaking ball and was projected to be an early 2nd round pick, maybe late 1st round at best. OMG...I'm so freaking disgusted right now, davis is slowly killing me softly and he wonders why we have been the laughing stock of the NFL for the last 6 years. Every single person in the sports world is shocked right now along with all us loyal raider fans. Now it looks like we can look forward to another disappointing year thanks to senile davis and no balls cable!

Silver And Black Pride Check out my mock draft!

All the mock drafts have us picking Maclin or Crabtree in the first round but heres what I would do if I could pick.

1st BJ Raji DT - It doesn't matter how much points we score if we can't stop the other team from scoring. Our defense has ranked in the bottom of the league for the last 6 years and we need to change that as Raji will plug the middle and take on 2 blockers every play so our LB's can make tackles. The last impact player we drafted on the DL was Darrell Russel back in 1997 and we need to change that to 2009.

2nd Max Unger OL - We could have Larry Fitzgerald and Andre Johnson but it wouldn't matter if our O-line doesn't give J.Russell time to throw. We need a dominant O-line so D.McFadden can go off this year and we can control the clock with M.Bush when we have the lead late in the game(lost 3 games in the 4th Q last year). Unger is a beast that can play anywhere on the line except for left tackle.

3rd Ramses Barden WR - Big boy at 6 foot 6 230 who is a jump ball threat and would be an asset to J.Russell as he has a strong arm but is not the most accurate. Barden would be good for us in the red zone where we sucked and perfect for the fade routes.

4th Patrick Chung SS - I personally think M.Huff is a bust as he consistently missed open field tackles that I think Chung will not do. Branch and Eugene did a pretty good job last year but they are free safeties. Chung is a strong safety that can cover tight ends and upgrade the run defense.

7th Kaluka Maiava LB - A solid physical linebacker who has good closing speed and is a sound tackler. He would be solid at strong side LB as he reminds me of Pisa Tinoisamoa from the St.Louis Rams(fast and athletic) and could learn more from K.Morrison.

All of these draft picks would address our team needs and hopefully help turn us back into a respected franchise. I also think we should bring in Roy Williams at safety as he may struggle against the pass but is a solid run defender and he could mentor P.Chung. I would also like to take a chance on LB Willie Williams and DE Rulon Davis and sign them to rookie free agent deals. Both of these players have talent and potential.
