Awesome Article About Non Traditional Hockey Markets
A SBN article from the Preds site that deserves a read. Super intelligent, well written, and heartfelt.
SI.com - Logan Couture Deserves More Calder Attention
Good article about the lack of attention the league office has been paying to our boy and rookie sensation Logan Couture.
Are We Winning?
I can't recommend this book enough. Will Leitch of Deadspin fame has written a truly touching and memorable book about his love for baseball and what it means to him and his father. Any AN'er will enjoy it.

I saw this on Neyer's Blog, a pretty funny send up of Dallas' kingdom.
San Jose is moving closer...
There were two pretty small stories that came out this week that caught my eye. First, MLB and Lew Wollfe had lunch with the San Jose Mayor's office on Monday.

Today, it was announced that San Jose has sold two downtown properties to Sobrato for $20 million. It says this money will be used to purchase the final two parcels needed for the downtown ballpark site.

Deadspin Previews A's...Compares to Expos
Will Leitch, the founder and Editor at Large over at Deadspin has started publishing his previews for each MLB team. His previews deal much more in the "what it's like to be a fan of ____ team" than actual baseball. However they are well written and very entertaining.

In today's post he covers our beloved A's, gives a shout out to Leopold Bloom, and compares our team to the Expos in a sad and loving way...

Is Susan Sussler no longer covering the team
Anyone else noticed that the Chronicle has been running AP stories and no longer has anybody as a beat writer for the A's? Is Susan Sussler one of the many people laid off from the troubled paper, or did they just decide that nobody was paying attention this late in the season?
This also got me thinking, who is the best beat writer the A's have? I would have voted Sussler, if I could still find her anywhere.
Giambi in '09?
In this morning's blog, Buster Olney had this little nugget for us A's fans:
• If the money can be worked out, a reunion of Jason Giambi with the Oakland Athletics might well happen in 2009.
