In Kansas City, Pioli would have a chance to form a special partnership with 43-year-old chairman Clark Hunt, son of the late Lamar Hunt, whose history in the game - and loyalty to his employees - is well-documented. This is Clark Hunt's first big hire and if he hits it off with Pioli in the interview, Pioli might look at a young roster, plenty of salary cap space, a weak AFC West, and see a quicker-than-expected Bill Parcells-like turnaround as a very real possibility.

Jerry Jones regrets...

If we keep Thigpen as our QB, I too think we need to keep Chan Gailey as the OC. If we move in another direction, we'll risk losing Tony G., and we'll probably delegate Thigpen as our backup QB.

I don't know if losing LJ will be such a great thing. I don't know if Charles or Smith will be good enough runners to replace LJ.

It all starts with the GM.

Jamaal Charles speed...?

I've been waiting all year long for Jamal Charles to break one. He finally catches a nice screen pass, gets good blocking, and fails to beat the corner to the end zone. Then I had to endure watching a highlight on the NFL Network, when Deion said if he was a little faster he would have scored.

Is he still banged up, or what? Why didn't he put it into that last gear?

Should we still trade Tony G?

I say no. Since that whole trade debacle went down, TG is getting the ball 8 to 10 times a game. He's catching everything thrown his way. He's taking the best corner from the other team, freeing up DBowe and Bradley.

Is he merely showcasing his talents? I hope not. I'd rather keep him too long instead of trade him when he has a few years left. Even though his trade value has to be going up with his stats.

Greg Robinson lost his job with 2 games left in their season.

I wonder how much longer he'll continue to get jobs. I remember those days when he ran our D. Phew, I'll Gun over him any day.

Robinson was a longtime NFL and college defensive coordinator, but he'd never been a head coach. He was hired to revive a Syracuse program with a long tradition of success that had gone stale.

does Thigpen allow KC to draft other needs?

After watching him vs. Atlanta, I was ready to cut Thigpen right there. Now, he's put a few games together, and we have hope that a seventh round pick is our QB of the future? I'm starting to think that we can now pass on a QB as our first pick. I think we need a pass rusher. I'm reading about Orakpo being a beast. I'm sure he's going to fly up the charts after scouts see him lift, and run.

So the quesiton remains, do we pass on Stafford, or the other QBs and go D?

I have to admit. Since our offense has been together for a few weeks, I like the play calling. I don't know if LJ really suits this spread offense. Charles is proabably more suited towards blocking, and taking the quick screen passes.

Obviously like / love the pick up of Mark Bradley (forget his drop). I'm now happier that we hung on to TG. I think we have the makings of a decent offensive team. If we can do something about McIntosh and the right guard (not sure if Jones is the answer).

All in all, I"m please with Gailey not forcing his offense on Thigpen. He's figured out what his players are most suited for, and he's designed it.

Derek Anderson is our guy.

I think Anderson may be our guy. Let's hope Quinn has a good game against Denver's bad defense. Then we can offer up a 2 or 3 for him.

Mark Bradley

I think I like this guy Mark Bradley. Now we have two WRs, a TE, a few RBs, a young D.

Bradley has made a few catches, and now the long throw to Thigpen. That showed his athleticism.

Now, as Herm was asked, we need to be sure we have the right people to coach them. I'd like to see Gunther open it up a little. I liked the offenese the past two weeks. We're finally coaching to the players strengths.

Let's see what happens the rest of the way, but would that be a trip if Thigpen turns out to be our diamond in the rough.

The game was very competitive. I was able to cheer from my couch in NJ. They were ahead, and should have won the game if TG did not get called for the push off. Barber clearly mugged TG, again. That should have been a first down, and maybe game over. I won't fault Charles for the fumble, b/c he's young and will learn from it.

Barth kicked well. Thigpen look competent too.

All in all, the game was fun to watch. Yes we lost, but this is our year for the draft. Cincy won today. So now only Detroit (just signed Culpepper) has a worse record than us. Keep the games fun to watch, and keep losing. I want a top 2 or 3 pick this year. Let's just hope Carl (if he's still here) can sign him.
