Texans left tackle Duane Brown said fans cheering Schaub’s injury was "disgusting." Yates called the applause "disrespectful." J.J. Watt said those who approved of Schaub’s pain are leading a backward life. Reactions from Andre Johnson and Arian Foster were stronger. "It’s bad when members of the other team are saying that’s messed up that (fans) would do something like that," Johnson said. "It just shows no class. It wasn’t all the fans. But those are the same people that you’re out somewhere with your family and you tell them they can’t have an autograph right now, those are the same people that tell you you’re rude.

Hitting Zone causing more knee injuries

Here’s the problem with Rodgers’ complaint: Elam’s hit was in the legal hitting zone. Defensive players are allowed to tackle ball carriers by hitting them in the knees. If Rodgers doesn’t like that, he should take it up with the NFL’s owners, who determine the league rules, not with Elam. Rodgers did acknowledge that Ravens safety James Ihedigbo told him on the field that defensive players have been instructed not to hit offensive players high, so it’s only natural that they’re going to hit low.

Last month, someone fabricated a rumor that the Giants had traded (not might trade, but had traded) receiver Hakeem Nicks to the Lions for running back Mikel Leshoure and a third-round pick. This month, the Giants have 15 days left to try to trade Nicks.

Kaepernick efficiency

After three quarters Sunday night, Colin Kaepernick had completed 4 of 13 for 45 yards. And San Francisco led, 24-3. Kaepernick finished 6 of 15, but it’s the accuracy that has to concern offensive coordinator Greg Roman. It’s declined from 62 percent last year to 56 percent now.

Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs had three sacks by that point, making the most of a matchup with left tackle Jonathan Martin, and the Dolphins offense couldn’t score points in the second half.

The Baltimore Ravens are set to acquire a former first-round draft pick to add to their depth along the offensive line. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN.com, the Ravens have agreed in principle to a deal, pending a physical, with the Jacksonville Jaguars to acquire offensive tackle Eugene Monroe.

The Titans are the only team in the league without a turnover through four games, a stat that went a long way toward boosting them to a surprising 3-1 start. But turnovers were an issue for Fitzpatrick in Buffalo, where he threw 54 interceptions and fumbled 23 times (losing 13) in 45 games over the past three seasons. Fitzpatrick suffered 22 turnovers in 16 games last season, throwing 16 interceptions and losing six fumbles. His ratio of interceptions to attempts in 2012 was 3.2 percent, which tied with Jay Cutler for se

Zach Ertz lined up to the left of Jason Peters at the Eagles’ 46 yard line. When the ball was snapped, he took off down the seam before turning his head around, finding the ball, making the catch and somersaulting to the ground for an 11-yard gain. Ertz got up, found the official, tossed him the ball, looked towards the sideline for the next play and set up at the exact same spot in-line next to Peters. Not a lot to think about for the rookie after his first career catch. The Eagles were about to run the same play twice in a row. In fact, Chip Kelly called the play three times on one drive in a span of two minutes, two seconds. And in the first quarter alone, he went with it five times. The concept is one we wrote about all preseason: packaged plays. The idea is to combine run and pass options so that calls can be made quickly and the offense can move at a fast pace.

Fast, Faster, and Fastest The Kansas City Chiefs, under first-year coach Andy Reid, have run 79 plays in their first two games in which the clock did not stop after the play. The Eagles have run 91 plays under similar circumstances. Here is a breakdown of the time it has taken between those plays: 40 seconds or more Chiefs, 37 plays, 46.8 percent. Eagles, 8 plays, 8.8 percent. 30 seconds or more Chiefs, 55 plays, 69.6 percent. Eagles, 33 plays, 36.2 percent. 30 seconds or less Chiefs, 24 plays, 30.3 percent. Eagles 58 plays, 63.7 percent.

Dustin Colquitt, P, Kansas City. In a 17-16 field-position game at Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City’s most valuable player was the punter in the win over Dallas. His seven punts landed at the Dallas 23-yard line, the 5-, the 10-, the 10-, the 15-, in the end zone, and at the 4-. That last one made it impossible for the Cowboys to rally in the last minute of the game.

CB Morris Claiborne: Claiborne was limited in practice three days after dislocating his left shoulder vs. the Giants. The injury has affected the range of motion in his upper body and will force him to wear a harness. Claiborne doesn't seem to be concerned about his achy shoulder. "I got a chance to catch some balls today and did pretty good." he said. "It loosened up a lot. I hope by game time it will be even be looser. I'll suck it up. Cowboys plays

1

The Cowboys ran 51 pass plays, including two sacks, and only 21 called running plays despite never trailing in the win over the New York Giants. (A knee-down and fumbled snaps weren’t counted in either category.) In other words, they ran the ball 29 percent of the time. By comparison, the Cowboys ran the ball 34 percent of the time with pass-happy Garrett calling plays last season, when their 355 rushing attempts were the second fewest in the league.

The late Andy Reid era just felt bad all the time. Off-the-field tragedy, the "Dream Team" crap, Jason Babin, the debate about whether Vick deserved a second chance. Just stuff that sucks the fun out of cheering for a team. I was starting to worry I was in for another six months of anonymous sources, guys calling each other out, and a coach who keeps saying mindless platitudes to get through the week.

Romo will play

After playing with a punctured lung and broken rib two years ago, Tony Romo isn’t going to let anything less than that keep him off the field. Despite wincing with every step as he walked out of the Cowboys’ jubilant locker room here Sunday night, Romo insisted he won’t miss a beat despite two Giants meeting at his rib cage in the second quarter of Dallas’ 36-31 victory at AT&T Stadium.

DeCastro cuts Pouncey

5

Pouncey was blocking on a run play when teammate and right guard David DeCastro dove directly into his lower leg. What exactly DeCastro was doing is unclear. Pouncey had his man blocked up high, and had DeCastro made contact with the defender it would have resulted in a 15-yard chop-block penalty. That outcome would have been preferable for the Steelers to what actually occurred, with DeCastro going helmet first into Pittsburgh’s best offensive lineman.

As an All-American linebacker at Wake Forest, Curry was viewed as a sure-thing future NFL star. When the Seahawks took him with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2009 NFL draft, he was widely regarded as the safest pick on the board. Under the NFL’s old salary structure for high draft picks, Curry signed a six-year, $60 million contract with $34 million guaranteed.
