Quincy Russell goes down with an injury tonight
San Antonio Sam Houston Defensive Lineman and Texas committ goes down with a leg injury tonight on the second play of the game. Just saw the local news KSAT12 here in San Antonio and he had to be carried off the field and looked to be pretty serious. I will try and post a link as soon as I find one but the footage looked like the left knee. Of course that is just what I was able to glance over and see once I heard the newscast talking about him. Hope everything is going to be OK but if anyone has any update put something out there.
looking at body of work
lets forget about the emotions that go along with following our favorite team and wishing them well on a great regular season. we have all gone through countless reasoning of why 1 team should or shouldnt represent its conference. we can all admit that the "HOT" team right now is getting all the love and is looking very attractive. i tried doing some research as to which team actually looks better overall. now i dropped the names of the teams and dropped the names of the opponents because i feel like they are too subjective. i just want to bring up a few numbers
is it panic time yet?
as soon as we looked at the schedule all or most of us were particularly scared of the first 5 games of the schedule. well none of us thought that we would start the season in such a horrible manner. After the steelers game i thought that the steelers were just a very good team and probable a AFC title game good team, but then they looked terrible against the eagles and that made me second guess the steelers as a top tier team and with that makes me feel even worse about our team.
on sunday i was hoping that history wouldnt repeat itself because lets face the Titans own our team. i think we are like 1 - 12 in the history of the texans against the titans. at the beginning of the year i said that this would be the year that we wouldnt be the bottom dwellers of the division and called for a season sweep of the titans. well now that shit went out the window and i am starting to panic and really contimplating a 0 - 4 start to the season.
the jags have some issue of their own and had to make a great last minute comeback against the colts to avoid their own 0 - 3 start. we play the jags well every year and usually steal at least 1 from them a year. also looking at the schedule we have the colts who arent looking like the team of old and more like just an old team, but still possibly looking at a 0 - 4 team.
but then have a stretch of 3 very favorable games against the dolphins, lions, and bengals. after that stretch we are looking for a possible 4 - 3 team that is coming off a 3 game win streak. so with this information is it really panic time yet? how long before the organization hits the panic button and the schaub project is scrapped in favor of the sage-flavored texans? i am hoping that we wait until mid season to make any changes to this team. of course i am just looking for something to put a possitive spin on my team and keep looking foward. let me know what you think and if you are in panic mode or looking at a possible 4 - 3 team going into the second half of the season?
thoughts from last night
this was the first live game i was able to watch of my texans team. it was tough to swallow the final outcome but it was a very good game and here are some things that jumped out at me during and after the game.
Durant may have to wear an Oklahoma jersey
with all the excitement of NCAA tourney and all the ex-horns in the NBA who are making contributions to their respective teams, seatle supersonics are looking for a new home and ownership. from what i've read on several sites is that Oklahoma city is the front runner to take over the team. I personally have no desire to see KD in anything affiliated with oklahoma. I know my hatred is kinda strong for a state that i know nothing about except for the fact that their school is our biggest out of state rivalry and that because i have burnt orange running through my veins that all i know is that i am supposed to hate oklahoma. So am i the only one who is saddened by one of our own may have to bear the colors of an Oklahoma franchise. and if so, what about the merchandise? would you turn your back to our beloved son just because you wouldn't be caught dead cheering and rooting for anything Oklahoma related. Just want to know how you guys feel?
i know what we think, but
what do the bcs peeps think about the texas longhorns. if im correct the first bcs polls comes out today or monday, and with all the crazy close games and the numerous upsets what will the longhorns look like in the poll. i know for the past couple of games we look like a top 15 team and dont belong in the bottom 3rd of the polls. let me know what you think will be our new home in the ranks.
can't do anything about it now, but....
I know of a lot of so called UT fans are already jumping off the bandwagon and talking so negative about the longhorns and to those of you who started rooting for texas when they were winning rose bowls i say don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out. I got so many calls on my cell during the game of my friends who jumped to UT when the going was easy and everything was peachy cream, and they were talking about how the players are garbage and how colt mccoy is nothing and how the longhorns aint sh!t anymore. well i've been a bleeding burnt orange the minute i stepped on the DKR field when i was 9 years old and my peewee coach took us to see the longhorns play. I only have 1 regret from this weekend,
