Hopefully, the Royals can move one of Buck, Pena, and Olivo.

I'd imagine that Dayton would rather trade Buck or Olivo to clear salary space and eliminate seemingly duplicate players.

What's a relatively pricey catcher worth in this market?

Maybe this is rehashing a subject that's been covered thoroughly in the past, but while reading the mailbag on the team website, I followed the link to the intro music for players and couldn't help but notice Teahan lists a Jose Lima number in his walk up music.

Is Teahan joking around with Lima or what?

Gload, German

Ok, haven't posted, commented in quite a while, but I've been attempting to keep up with the commentary on the site. Moving on....

In the last two weeks, German has had 18 AB's. In the same period, Gload has had 19 AB's.

Their respective lines and contracts:
Gload:.211/.211/.263 (2yrs/3.2M)
German: .222./.222./278 (1yr/1M)

When is Gload moved for peanuts or 10 bats (occured last week in an independent league)? Is this possible, or do we just continue to pay him to do explode on the bench?

Should the same route be taken with German, or do we see how he responds if Pena is released? (We don't need to go through his stats.)

I hope I don't see, "They're bench players. We don't need to expect much from them."

Just some stats of our former players, some with extremely small sample size. Thought it'd be neat to see, I'll see about updating it every so often.

All players are still in the big leagues or likely to be so after a return from injury.

From 2007:

Jason LaRue (STL): 0 for 11, 4 Ks, 2BBs

Justin Huber (SDP): 2 for 4, K (pinch hitting extraordinaire)

Emil Brown(OAK): .261 .286 .370 in 46 AB

Mike Sweeney(OAK): .298 .382 .362 in 47 AB

Odalis Perez (WAS): 0-3, 4.35 ERA, 13K, 9BB in 20+ INN

From 2006:

Doug Mienkiewicz (PIT) .227 .393 .318 in 22 AB

Matt Stairs (TOR): .294 .324 .382 in 34 AB

Paul Bako (CIN): .364 .462 .485 in 33 AB

Jeff Keppinger (CIN): .327 .387 .491 in 55 AB

Mark Redman (COL): 1-1, 2 GS, 5.06 ERA, 7K, 3BB 10 INN

Todd Wellmeyer (STL) 1-9, 3GS, 4.00 ERA, 20K, 7BB in 18 INN

Andy Sisco (CHW); Tommy John Surgery

Ambirox Burgos (NYM): Recovery from Surgery 15 Day DL as of 3/21/08 - I'd give more detailed info but as I'm at work, many sites are filtered, so someone else will have to fill in some proper details, but we all know what happened here (Highway Robbery).

Scott Dohman (TBR); The other half of the Shealy trade: 7 INN, 4K, 1 BB, 3.68 ERA

Kyle Snyder: Recently DFA'd after limited work and a ERA over 21.

Note: Most stats were taken from www.baseball-reference.com since it was so easy to search around on just one site.

Okay, who is Missing in Action?

PTBNL

First, I'm new around here and hope to participate, but really have no idea how often I'll be commenting. Anyway, in PTBNL trades, what are the rules on when that player is named?

For instance, if Ramon Ramirez starts the season off with a great first two weeks, does his price go up? Or are their a variety of players that are put on a list when the trade is made that are deemed to be acceptable?

Hopefully, we'll come out on top in these end of ST moves. There's probably one more move to be made: Bye Bye Maban Grudzman...
