To the games in Miami next week?

Just curious. Wondering if we should try and set up a meeting place. Could see a clinching game !! :)

I can likely go Tuesday...very unlikely wednesday....and Thursday..I might pull a Ferris Behuler.....I'tll likely be HOT Thursday afternoon.....

Also have a link and code to the Fl Marlins site for discount field boxes on Wednesday...leave me "an e-mail" and I'll forward....do your address like joesmith@nospam_yourrealddomain.com...so you don't get junk....

I emailed the discount code to Al....so he might post if he sees nothing that will cause BCB harm in posting it.....

Why the Cubs really frustrate some of us BCB'ers...

I did a little rudimentary analysis on scoring efficiency. That is the percentage of baserunners that score.

My methodology was basic and made some assumptions. I didn't account for errors. I assumed that total baserunners were hits + base on balls. I then divided runs scored into that number to get a percentage. This should get us fairly close to a comparison statistic as runners on by error probably cancel out hitters trying to stretch out singels in to doubles, etc. For basic analysis, this should be good enough.

See also...

http://mysite.verizon.net/brak2.0/score.htm

Let's see who's bellyin up (or as NOT Bruce would say...mannin up)....

MEN -- St. Louis Card ooopss..Deadturd offense...a stellar example of clutch hitting...6 of their 10 baserunners (and one of those were erased in a DP)scored tonight...an excellent blood lusting hungry and EFFICIENT 4/9 LOB choke factor.....while their pitching basically got the Pirates to pull a Chicago Cub...2 of 13 baserunners scoring....10/17 CHOKE FACTOR....and Honorable mention to Chris Duncan...a .264 hitting outfielder...who ai'nt afraid to step up and WIN....3 RBI's tonight to have 69....nobody in the Cub outfield is even close ...

BOYS...as is the case all year...all the Hendry chicken$hit$ are afraid to win...2 of 11 baserunners...and the little PITP's....chicken$hit$ GIDP'd 4 times (actually 5 times....guess the ninth led to more choking)...whick certainly helped the 6/14 choke factor...still waiting for those names.....

CUB OFFENSE CHOKE ROSTER
D.Lee in the first...guess thats the home run pressure price to pay.

4th..Kendalll...but Honorable mention to Jones..who probably coulda easily done it himself with the FC....nice set up Jones.

6th ---The usual suspect...Jones...

8th..DWard...this is becoming an all around offense failure...

9th...who else....Jones again.....

HENDRY...Thanks for this fu^%&in OFFENSE....

I'll name names once ESPN updates the box score to where we can start pinning blame....CHOKASAURUS CUB...I now have....

MEN Ney York Yankees....BLAST their closest wild card rival

MEN ... Milwaukee Brewers...Clutch pitching leads to an awful cublike 10/22 in runners left on base for the Astros......

Go ahead ans start the flames....but this is clutch time people...and this is EXACTLY WHAT I'm COMPLAINING ABOUT ALL YEAR

...and the Daytona Cubs.....

I've had the opportunity to (sauna) and watch the Daytona Cubs a couple games this past week and have a couple of observations to make about fundamentals...

We all like to complain about the offense....I saw numerous well executed hit and runs and sacrifices by a "poor" hitting team. So...I believe that those fundamentals MIGHT be being taught well thru the Cub farm system.

Diporak (sp?) was the DH...I seem to remember him being a "hot" prospect....why is he in A ball? He played (hit) pretty average from what I saw.

The Cubs MUST teach the pitching staff that there is no defense behind them. I saw a kid...#30....srike out the side....but gave up a home run in the same inning....had a good (perhaps overly) competitive deameanor...cept he only went about 5.....a sa a starter...threw LOTS of pitches.....this guy is lights out above the Notre Dame kid pitching wise at this point...

BUT....even the pen comes in and throws lots of pitches......it's like there is no defensive strategy....strike'em out or deal w/ the consequences.....

I'd love to see a comparison post from someone who's seen the Peoria Chiefs.....

While enjoying (very MUCH...I'm originally from Central Illinois) this weekends sweep of the Cardinals, I thought, if the Cubs could have 10 games back, where could they be....:

I can find 10 games
Easy that would make the difference between this miserable mess and being "in contention" for a wild card spot.......(I may start a diary for...find 10 games....)...please chime in and make your own top 10 ......

1. O for San Diego.....The Cubs should have taken 2 in SD and Dempster blew his 1st save in Chicago a week later.
(3)

2. The Cubs should have swept the Braves Memorial Day weekend...not the other way around.
(3)

3. Houston, June 16...0 for 9 with RISP.
(1)

4. Florida 5/23 ...Dempster's 2nd blown save.
(1)

5. White Sox 7/1. AJ's revenge...another blown save.
(1)

6. Mets July 16 (or July 14)...Todd Walker's fielding meltdowns.
(1)

7. There are several other 1 run losses out there to pick from....and have listed more than 10......

Woulda, coulda, shoulda.........
