Jamal Williams cut by Denver

I'd take him. Not sure what kind of salary he'd command, but he's a real NT to bide time until a draft pick is ready...hopefully by '12.

Schefter: After Leaving KC Shaun Rogers visited Saints

After visiting Washington and Kansas City, former Browns DT Shaun Rogers visited the Saints. No more visits scheduled for now.

Chiefs teammates vote Jamaal Charles MVP, Eric Berry ROY

Jamaal Charles earns his second consecutive Derrick Thomas MVP Award, while Eric Berry is named the 2010 Mack Lee Hill Award winner

Jamaal Charles 2010 FedEX Ground NFL Player of the Year

Longhorns had their targets set on Weis?

So Weis to Texas was all but a done deal before Muschamp bolted. Sounds like Weis knew for awhile his stint in KC was one-and-done.

Mawae says players "got such a great deal" in 2006

I would think Mawae would like to take this line back...

So...apparently Tamba won't be playing in the Pro Bowl

I guess this makes sense in light of the Babb Red Zone post today. "Shaun Phillips replaces Tamba Hali, who replaced James Harrison."

Jamaal Charles is the Chiefs lone representative on AP All-Pro Team

I'm ok with this. Tamba may be deserving, but it isn't easy taking Matthews or Harrison off the team.

Schefter's take on Chiefs next OC

Anthony (New York City, NY): Any news on the OC for the Chiefs? The earlier the better as the progression of Cassel & the Chiefs' 2011 draft might be different until an OC is hired??!! Adam Schefter: Anthony: No matter who the Chiefs hire as their OC, it still sounds like Todd Haley will call the plays. I've gotten a lot of questions about the Chiefs OC, but it's really one of the more insignificant hires that will be made. The Chiefs offense will have Haley's imprint all over it.

Chargers announce Greg Manusky as the new defensive coordinator.

Kent Babb Interview

This is a week old, but I just saw it, and there are plenty of interesting comments: "I think the Chiefs like Albert but haven’t seen enough from him to know that he’s their long-term left tackle. Kansas City will need to upgrade at the tackle position again this off-season, and while the team absolutely needs a right tackle, it also might be tempted to go after a left tackle as well." "It doesn’t appear that Jackson will ever be productive, and after a pretty forgettable second season, it’s looking more and more like last year’s third overall pick is a bust."

Chiefs re-sign 7 players to future contracts

WR Jeremy Horne; TE Cody Slate; G Darryl Harris; DL Bobby Greenwood; LB Pierre Walters; LB Micah Johnson; and LB Justin Cole all signed deals for next season. OLB Dion Gales is the only one out of Kansas City's eight practice squad players not to re-sign as of Wednesday morning.

Can we stop comparing Oakland and Baltimore: Oakland, #2 in the NFL in rushing, 4.9 ypc (better than KC). Baltimore, #14 in rushing, 3.8 ypc (ypc is 28th in the NFL). Oakland #2 in the NFL with 47 sacks Baltimore 4th worst in the NFL with 27 sacks Baltimore is a great team, particularly they are good against the run, #5 in the NFL. That is the challenge that is posed to the Chiefs, running the football. This is not a particularly similar team to Oakland. Mayock and whoever else that thinks so...sorry, I just don't see it. The comparison I've heard is that they are both 'physical.' Ok...maybe, but their strengths and weaknesses are almost polar opposites. Again, don't take this that I'm not concerned about Sunday...I'm very concerned. I just don't think we're going to lose by giving up 5 sacks and letting them gash us for 200 yards rushing. If we lose, I think it will be because we can't run the ball and Flacco makes a couple more plays than Cassel.

Coach of the Year Article

This is written by the NFL writer for 'The Big Lead' This guy lives in KC, and is a Chiefs fan, for some background info. I agree with his take...sorry to drop this in the middle of all the Weis talk. I'm just doing everything I can to stay off those threads.

Looney says game is on tv

Schefter: Broncos Plan to Start Tebow vs. Raiders

Let's see if he can part the Black Hole

Babb Leans towards Cassel not playing Sunday vs. Rams

"I'd say 60-40 he doesn't. But I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he did or did not play. RT @dswbbq odds of Cassel playing this Sun?" This really surprised me. In my own mind, it was around 70-30 or 80-20 that he would give it a go. Especially based on Cassel's quotes. Damn...

Vegas: Chiefs open as 1 point favorite @ Sea

Seattle is 3-1 at home, including a win over SD. We need this one.

Via Babb: Chiefs injury report lists Moeaki and McGraw as out for Sunday

McCluster, Waters, Lilja, Lewis and Washington as questionable.

Charles and Jones to flip the switch for Plaza Lights

Pretty sweet. Undoubtedly the best day of the year in KC.

LaCanfora: Raiders expect Campbell to start

"Jason Campbell took all starting reps for Raiders today. Gradkowski still has issues with his shoulder. Raiders expect Campbell to start" I would wager a lot of $ that if you asked Gradkowski, he would tell you he's good to go. Al isn't going to break up an offense that has put up 92 the last two weeks. My opinion.

Report: Chiefs "not interested" in claiming Moss

There is also this 'The Chiefs did not put in a waiver claim on Randy Moss.' That's from Babb...

From Jay Glazer: Shawne Merriman to Buffalo

"I'm hearing now even stronger that bills gm buddy nix has gone as far as informing merriman he's claiming him" Enjoy the winter, Shawne.

Schefter trims down destinations for Moss/Merriman

"Potential destinations: Randy Moss -- St. Louis, Oakland, Tennessee. Shawne Merriman -- SF, Miami, Baltimore. But we'll see after 4 pm ET." I'm pulling for the Rams at this point for Moss, I don't want him in our division, and Tenn is a tougher opp left on the schedule.
