I just heard that Jason Elam has been released by the Atlanta Falcons. This is not really surprising given his poor performance this season (12 of 19), but I feel sad for the guy who kicked brilliantly for the Broncos for many years. He was the very first Bronco I met at training camp at Greeley, and he was clutch for our team.

If this is the end of his career, I hope the Broncos can sign him in the off season so that he can retire as a Bronco. It was always strange to see him in red and black, and he needs to retire dressed in orange and blue.

Finally, with Matt Prater kicking extremely well this season, it was probably for the best that the Broncos declined to offer Jason one last contract.

Here's to Jason Elam! My favorite kicker of all time.  

For all of you doubting Kyle Orton,

Did you see that our ex-quarterback threw 5 picks against the 49ers last night, including one in the red zone with eight seconds left of a four point game? After Monday night, I thoroughly enjoyed watching Cutler and his big arm lose the game after his defense kept him in it. No doubt about it, Kyle Orton would have won that game for the Bears if he was their quarterback.

Thanks again Jay for securing us a high 1st round draft next year. I hope it turns into a stud DL or OL lineman that your team really needs.

All I can say is go Broncos and go Kyle on Sunday against the Redskins. Let's get back on track and go 7-2!
