Baseball fun again for B-Mets' Holt
Trying to not get overly excited about Mejia, Harvey, and Holt.
The Beningo-ization of the Mets Fanbase
The other day I got into a Twitter back and forth with a fellow Knicks blogger who happens to be a Yankees fan. Essentially he was insinuating that the Mets were a jinxed and awful franchise. My first instinct was that he was another ignorant Yankee fan who couldn't name a single player outside of the Bronx. However, as he pointed out, this point of view is actually perpetuated by a large portion of the Mets fanbase.

Havens & F! - "Sleeper" Prospects
Not sure if anyone reads Project Prospect or has seen this post where they rank the top 10 "sleeper" hitting prospects, but they're pretty high on Reese Havens (#2.) They also still believe in Fernando Martinez's (#6) ability to hit and offer a common sense way to solve his injuries.
In Defense of Jerry Manuel
There has been a strong anti-Manuel sentiment around this blog for some time now, and probably with good reason. However, I figured I would take a stab at playing devil's advocate and attempt to convince some of you that maybe Manuel shouldn't be fired.

ESPN NY "Mets Blog" launch
I only put Mets Blog in quotes because the entries are pretty lengthy. Otherwise, it's actually pretty good so far. I really like the minors report and the series preview. If they keep these features up it shows promise.
What's wrong with the CY Young picture? - Black Jack on the White Sox
" Now that they have officially allowed full season 15 game winners to represent the best in the game, you start to worry about perennial low ERA, high strikeout guys like Vasquez being propelled to the highest level of respect...when they shouldn't. What is the difference how many strikeouts a guy has if they can't ultimately win games?"
Between this and the news of Tony B.'s "Oppo Plan" I think I need some air.
