I am 29 years old. I live in Lexington, Kentucky (HOME of the Kentucky Wildcats!) where I was born and raised. I graduated from UK in 2002. I have an adorable three year old son and a twelve year old stepson. I am a HUGE UK fan and have been for as long as I can remember, and being employed at another Kentucky university, tend to take quite a bit of heat for it! I am currently pursing my masters degree and plan to become a teacher. I definitely "bleed blue" and LOVE talking about anything UK. It was actually quite a blessing to find this site. My husband is a UK fan as well, though not anywhere near the extent of my "obsession" so he tends to grow tired of my endless UK discussions. My stepdad is an avid UK fan but the rest of my family are very mild UK fans (as in they enjoy watching a game if they happen to be home with nothing to do when one is on tv, but have no desire to sit around and discuss every facet of UK there is). So, ASOB has become my haven, so to speak, where I can sit and chat with others that hold UK as dear to their hearts and lives as I do!

UK Football Freshman To Be Charged With Assault
Hat Tip KSR.
...as usual the comments over there on this are disgusting.
UK Basketball Releases Three Walk-ons
Looks like Matt Scherbenski, Adam Delph, and Dwight Perry have been dismissed from the team. The only walk-on that will remain is Mark Krebs.
From WKYT's website:
Sources have told 27 Sportsfirst that 3 Kentucky Basketball Walk-ons will not be back next season.
Matt Scherbenski, Dwight Perry and Adam Delph have been dismissed.
Coach Calipari told the media in one of his earlier press conferences that he would only keep a few walk-ons.
With these players leaving it ups the total to 12 players that have left the program.
Mark Krebs is the only walk-on left on the team.
Thoughts? I hadnt heard about this and saw it on KSR. Needless to say, there were a wide range of comments over there.

Sad and Disgusting
I hope Erin Andrews keeps her head up and does not allow this disgusting behavior discourage her.
Landon Slone
Seems as though there were quite a few Kentucky fans that were really upset over the whole Landon Slone "situation" - specifically that Slone apparently wanted to meet with Cal and wasnt able to and Cal's "apology" tweet sent out in reference to that. I was just curious as to what people here thought about the whole deal.
I, personally, was not really bothered much by the whole situation and was kind of suprised at the number of people that were really upset and the level of the complaining over this. I wish Landon much luck and success in the future wherever he goes.

Patterson To Test NBA Waters
Hat Tip: KSR
Dear Wildcats
Dear Wildcats,
Please accept this letter of encouragement and support.
Go out there and have some FUN and leave it all on the court!
Meeks - here's hoping, you have another high scoring game.
But we'll gladly take your average though since that will work just the same.
Patterson - get mad and mean and show them you're our beast!
Block all their shots and rebound, too - and one NASTY dunk, at least.
Mike Porter - believe in your shot. We all know its there.
When they leave you open and dare you to shoot, sail that ball right through the air!
P.Steve - you've showed us your skills and made some damn big plays.
We need your A-game, that's for sure, today above all days.
Ramon Harris - we all know, on defense your the man of the hour.
Making scorers disappear tonight will be your super-power!
Liggins - be steady, be strong, and be sure to make good choices.
That combined with your passing skills and your sure to raise some voices!
Darius Miller - be confident! You have done this all before.
You've scored some points and made some plays, now go out and get some more!
Galloway - you may get some time. Make every second matter!
Heart and toughness in minutes played - that's how you climb the ladder.
J. Harrellson - keep fighting and scrapping like we all know you can.
Your gritty style of play makes you our "garbage man."
AJ Stewart - show us your skills when you are put to the test.
Help keep the team on an upward keel when giving our big guys a rest.
To the guys on the bench - there are some that wont see the floor tonight.
But you are all still part of this team and this is still your fight!
To Billy Clyde - coach your heart out, and let's go and beat the Gators!
After the win, you'll hear the crowd roar and drown out all the haters.
Here tonight the losing stops! Bring on the change of plans!
Just know we're here and we've got your backs; Love, your UK fans.

Meeks Makes History: Oh What a Night!
Surrounded by a sea of orange, Kentucky took the floor.
They had won their opener in the SEC, but they wanted something more.
Tennessee and Kentucky is a long-time rivalry, that's true,
But tonight there was a special feeling in the air for the team wearing blue.
"Rocky Top" was blaring its ode to the mountain man.
The whistle blew to start the game and history began.
A few minutes in and it was clear that Jodie Meeks was "on."
The Vols would need some defense quick if not to become his pawn.
They tried all different combos, but Meeks' shooting was divine.
"I had my hand right in his face and, hell, I'm six foot nine!"
Dont worry, Wayne, it's not just you. No one could hold Meeks down.
He can shoot from anywhere - up close or from downtown.
JP Prince tried and failed. Pearl searched his bag of tricks.
It must have been empty though cause at the half Meeks had twenty-six!
Second half, more of the same, Vols fans are feeling low.
Kentucky fans were loving life and enjoying the one-man show!
Meeks shot the two, he shot the three, he was perfect from the line.
But then the history happened and sent shivers down my spine.
Meeks had already tied Tony Delk in most threes in a single game,
But tonight he sunk TEN and put that record in HIS name!
The crowd amazed and speechless, Meeks continued his hot hand.
No more "Good Ol' Rocky Top" coming from the UT band.
Meeks, again, went to the line and the Vols were looking shifty.
The shot went in and to Bobby Maze, Meeks smiled and just said, "Fifty."
Fifty points and still not done, Meeks left us one more token.
Four more points - thats FIFTY FOUR - Dan Issel's record BROKEN!
Issel's record set in 1970, was before young Jodie's birth,
But tonight a prophecy was filled, Meeks DID inherit the Earth!
