Malzahn Turns Vandy Down
Finally, there is someone else reportiing this and not just getting info from Twitter....
Malzahn to be Named Vanderbilt Coach?
Not sure how true this is because I can't find any other site that is reporting the same story....
Muschamp to be Named New Florida Head Coach
Very interesting choice....
NCAA Rules Cam Newton Is Eligible, Auburn Limits His Father's Role
Now we can all finally put this behind us...
Malzahn Tops Vanderbilt's List
In case you haven't heard, Robbie Caldwell announced his resignation today effective after the Wake Forest game. According to some, Vanderbilt has inquired about Malzahn's interest in the Vandy job.
Personally, I do not see this as something Malzahn would take because it's not a program where you can win consistently. If Malzahn takes a job it's going to be at a place where he can actually win. Just my thoughts....
Auburn To Wear Blue Jerseys Saturday
Something tells me that Ole Miss is about to try something gimmicky...Gimmicks do not work well. Just ask Georgia about their black out when they got humiliated by Alabama.
ESPN College GameDay Headed To Auburn
The ESPN College GameDay crew will head to Auburn this Saturday as we take on the Clemson Tigers. Saturday is also True Blue Saturday where fans are encouraged to wear navy blue!
Scarbinsky: Finally, the real Tuberville's back, with gums blazing
From an Auburn fan that has now become a Texas Tech fan thanks to Tuberville, I thought I would share this with you guys.
Done deal: Alabama's James Willis to Texas Tech
Here is the confirmation that all of you have finally been waiting on. I know you've received reports of it happening but now it has been confirmed.
Tuberville To Be New Texas Tech Coach
Not sure how much truth is to this but according to ESPN's Ivan Maisel, Tommy Tuberville will in fact be the new head coach at Texas Tech. I personally think this he would have fit in better at South Florida but maybe he can do some good things there. It should be interesting to say the least. Feel free to read the story here.
So what do you think of this? Was this a good move by Tuberville or should he have waited out for a better job? And I'm not saying that Texas Tech is not a good job I just don't trust the President and Athletic Director out there. But that's just me.
BREAKING NEWS: Urban Meyer Stepping Down as Florida Head Coach
If you're watching the Meineke Car Care Bowl you probably just heard the breaking news that Urban Meyer will step down as the Florida head coach. Jeremy Foley, UF Athletic Directory, has confirmed this and you can read the press release here. To say this is shocking is an understatement.
Thoughts? Reactions? Who will Florida go after now to replace Urban?
Please feel free to discuss as I continue to type to reach the 75 word limit.
Charlie Strong to Louisville
That's according to ESPN.com. Here's the link: Source: Louisville to Hire Strong
Or you can read it here:

Archive <!-- end mod-article-title --><!-- begin story body -->Louisville is on the verge of hiring Florida defensive coordinator Charlie Strong as its next coach.
The school has called a meeting of the personnel committee of the Louisville Athletic Association Board of Directors for Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. ET, where it is expected that the board will be asked to approve the hiring of Strong, a source close to the search said Tuesday.
Strong interviewed with Louisville athletic director Tom Jurich on Sunday in Gainesville. He is expected to be introduced in Louisville on Wednesday.
Louisville is seeking to replace Steve Kragthorpe, who was fired after three disappointing seasons.
Pat Forde is a senior writer for ESPN.com.
So with Florida losing their defensive coordinator who will they now go after to replace him? This is the 2nd year that Urban Meyer will be asked to replace on of his coordinators after he lost Dan Mullen last year to Mississippi State. I think it is an AWESOME hire by Louisville and wish Strong the best of luck.

Bobby Bowden to Retire
According to ESPN's Mark Schlabach Bobby Bowden will announce his retirement sometime tomorrow. This comes after Charlie Weis was shown the door earlier today. Jimbo Fisher has agreed to contract terms to replace Bowden after this season. So now that Bowden is out and Weis was shown the door, what other coaching changes could take place? I'm typing all of this up because of the word limit and I'm hoping I've reached it. You can read the rest of what Mark Schlabach had to say by going here: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=4701625
Prediction: Auburn v/s Furman
Hello and welcome to the official prediction thread for this week's game. We're facing an FCS team this week so we should be able to rest most of our starters after the first half, maybe even the first quarter? Regardless this is a game that is much needed. Nobody is giving Furman a chance but could they keep it closer than the experts think? I really don't think it'll be close, maybe the first five minutes when we're both tied at 0 but after that Auburn will runaway with it.
My prediction: Auburn 56 Furman 17
So, go ahead and make your predictions!!!

PREDICTIONS: Auburn v/s Ole Miss
Well, I thought JD might return with the thread but he must be really busy this week. Me starting the thread has not gone so well in the past because Auburn is 0-2 when I make this thread.
So if I am jinxing us I am sorry in advance but might as well get this started.
I have also predicted Auburn to win each of the times I started this thread but that changes today, unfortunately.
Why? Because it's an early game and history tells us that we don't do good in early games. Here lately we haven't done well with the late games either but the early games are never kind to us.
I think we will see some sign of our offense this week but Ole Miss and McCluster will run to a victory.
My Prediction: Ole MIss 24 Auburn 21
I'm really, really hoping I am wrong but we'll see on Saturday...
Chris Todd to remain starting QB
I thought I would share this with all of you courtesy of Charles Goldberg.
Chris Todd will remain Auburn's quarterback.
That's the word from coach Gene Chizik this Sunday following Saturday's offensively-challenged 31-10 loss to LSU.
``We're not going to make a change this week,'' Chizik said. ``After going back and looking at it, we would have loved for the offensive production to be better. But we're in the month of October and we're going against much tougher competition. We're at the point we have to execute better.
``We still think Chris gives us the best chance to win. It's not like our offense hasn't done it. We have.''
Todd hit 8-of-14 passes for 47 yards against LSU as Auburn lost its third straight game. The Tigers will look to rebound at home against Ole Miss on Saturday.
Chizik said the biggest difference in the passing game is the problems throwing down field.
He said Auburn was passing for 250-260 yards in wins, but it's dropped, overall, to less than a 100 yards in each of the last two games.
"It's not every play, but right now, we're not producing at the level to win these tough football games,'' Chizik said.
Chizik said teams are catching up with the offense. He said it's natural.
"When you get to game seven, eight and nine, they have all your film, and everybody has a good idea what everybody is doing.''
`"We have talked in depth on things we need to look at offensively as a whole,'' Chizik said. He said he and offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn have discussed changes, "but it wasn't specifically related to one guy.''
You can read the rest of what Goldberg got from Chizik's Sunday meeting with reporters by clicking the following link:
http://blog.al.com/goldmine/2009/10/auburn_sticks_with_chris_todd.html
My Thoughts: I don't feel changing QB's right now will change anything. We knew this was going to be a very difficult season but Chizik must also realize that he doesn't have the honeymoon period most new coaches get in their first year (at least I don't think he does but what do I know). But thanks to the previous regime we have no depth what so ever on offense or defense. You can only do so much with what you have and it's times like these we must all practice patience. I know it's been said a million times since our loss to Arkansas but that's all we can do as fans. I will be in Auburn for the game against Ole Miss for the dreaded 11:21 start but let's be honest, the late games haven't been all that great lately either. Maybe we can get things turned around this week. I will be honest, the way Ole Miss played Arkansas this week in that time slot has me extremely worried. Especially with flashbacks of how we played Arkansas. I've got my fingers crossed though. Anything can happen.
Auburn vs. Ole Miss to Kickoff at 11:21 CST
It looks as though we'll get the early game come October 31st against Ole Miss. That was probably expected after our loss to Kentucky Saturday. Here is the line-up from secsports.com. I am not particulary pleased with this but I know there are some that prefer the earlier games. As a reminder the Auburn Athletics Department is asking everyone that attends the game to wear Navy Blue.

PREDICTIONS: Auburn v/s Kentucky
JD must be running late again this week so I'll go ahead and post the predictions thread. Last week I didn't do so well. This week maybe I'll be closer to the actual score. Kentucky has little to no defense (not that we can say much) but I look for Auburn to win this one and I really don't think it'll be close. Why? Because I think our defense will be ready THIS WEEK after losing to Arkansas the way that we did. But anything can happen.
My Prediction: Auburn 45 Kentucky 20
And the following is brought to you by the folks at the Mobile-Press Register. To view the full post click the link: http://blog.al.com/press-register-sports/2009/10/sec_extra_matching_up_auburn_a_4.html
Game within the game: Kentucky coach Rich Brooks might not reveal until Saturday who he plans to start at quarterback, which could complicate Auburn's defensive preparations. Starter Mike Hartline is out with a knee injury, and backup Will Fidler and true freshman Morgan Newton are the top candidates to replace him. Receiver/Wildcat QB Randall Cobb also could be in for an expanded role. Hartline was a known commodity with plenty of film available for Auburn to study, but the newcomers could make it more difficult for the Tigers to rely on anything more than "educated guesses," coach Gene Chizik said.
PREDICTIONS: Auburn vs. Arkansas
I haven't seen this posted yet so I thought I would go ahead and get it started. Auburn is favored by 2.5 so what do you think the final score will be?
My prediction: Auburn 48 Arkansas 31
This is from the Mobile Press-Register, you can read the entire post by clicking this link: http://blog.al.com/press-register-sports/2009/10/sec_extra_matching_up_auburn_a_3.html
SEC EXTRA: Matching up Auburn and ArkansasBy Press-Register staff
October 08, 2009, 9:00AMGame within the game: Auburn had a more conservative pass rush against Tennessee quarterback Jonathan Crompton, and while the Tigers hurried him several times, they registered no sacks last week. Putting pressure on Arkansas quarterback Ryan Mallett will be essential. Unlike the Vols, the Razorbacks will spend little time trying to establish a running game. Three-fourths of Arkansas' yardage typically comes through the air. If Auburn gives Mallett too much time to throw, he can be especially dangerous.
Auburn vs. Kentucky, 6:30 Kickoff on ESPNU
The TV schedule for October 17th has been set and Auburn will be heading back under the lights. After having five straight night games, we'll return for the next two weeks following the 11:00 kick-off this Saturday. Auburn vs. Kentucky will kick-off at 6:30 CST. The following week, Auburn vs. LSU is scheduled to kick-off at 7:00 CST. Here is the complete schedule for October 17th:

| SEC Network | 11:21 CT | Georgia at Vanderbilt |
| ESPNU | 11:30 CT | Miss. State at Middle Tenn. State |

Auburn/Arkansas Tickets
I have three tickets to this Saturday's game that I am looking to sell. Something has come up that is preventing me from traveling to Fayetteville. If you or someone you know is interested let me know via email at kerr024(at)aol(dot)com. Tickets are located in Section 112, Row 12, Seats 48, 49, & 50. Tickets are $45.00 each but I'll take $90.00 for all three, it helps me get them off my hands and helps someone else that can go. Thanks!!!
Here's the seating chart: https://admin.xosn.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=6100&ATCLID=1569543
By the way, the seats will be in the Auburn section and if it is like two years ago you'll be close to the band. :)
No Tiger Walk at Neyland Stadium
So I just read over on al.com (courtesy of Charles Goldberg) that the University of Tennessee has asked that we not have Tiger Walk at Neyland Stadium. Here's the post from Charles:
**There will be no Tiger Walk at Neyland Stadium on Saturday, according to the Auburn website. The message was this:
"For safety and security measures requested by the University of Tennessee, there will not be a Tiger Walker at Neyland Stadium."
Here is the link to the entire post he made concerning tonight's practice, etc.
http://blog.al.com/goldmine/2009/09/auburn_preparing_for_the_noise.html
So...what do you make of this? I'm a little disappointed because I was looking forward to attending Tiger Walk but I guess I can find something else to do.
The Tennessee Game
I just wanted to see if there were any other Auburn fans headed up to Knoxville this weekend for the game. This will be my first trip up there and was curious as to parking, etc. From what I have heard parking is extremely hard to come by. If there any places you can suggest I would greatly appreciate it.
Due to the posting requirements I had to type this sentence to get to the 75 world limit. Hopefully I have now gone over that. haha...
War Eagle!
Polls Released; Top 5 Gets Makeover
Ok...so really, only the 4th and 5th spots were changed but after that the 6-10 were changed somewhat too after some of the Top 10 teams on Saturday suffered losses. When you look at both polls you'll see that Auburn failed to crack to Top 25 in both the AP Poll and the Coaches Poll. It's clear they are not drinking the Kool-Aid but that's alright. We do better under the radar. The top three spots remain the same but LSU gains the 4th spot while Boise State takes number 5. Click the link for both polls.
Auburn Game Delayed, Will Kickoff @ 6:30
This is from Evan Woodberry over at al.com...
The start time for Auburn's game against Ball State has been pushed back 30 minutes to 6:30 p.m.
Loud thunder and heavy rains rolled through Jordan-Hare Stadium at about 4 p.m. Saturday. The normally pristine turf was already showing a little wear from last weekend's showers, which delayed the start of the Auburn-West Virginia game by more than an hour.
