The Poached Becomes The Poacher
The Big East plans to invite Boise State, Air Force and Navy as football-only members, and Central Florida to compete in all sports, after it doubles the exit fee for current members to $10 million, a conference official told The Associated Press.
Huh.
Belmont Question Open Thread
Good evening, Wisconsin fans! Belmont graduating senior and basketball super-fan KevinF here to answer all of the many, many questions you undoubtedly have about the Bruins from Nashville. What are Belmont's major strengths and weaknesses? What style of basketball do they play (I'll give you a hint: it's the opposite of Wisconsin's)? What's up with that Rick Byrd? And is the team the Mitch/Mark/Mack Hedgepaths and the player the Belmont Bruins, or is it the other way around? I really don't get it.

KC Star reports Nebraska to the Big 10
I assume that the Star wouldn't post the story if it wasn't accurate... but then again, all logic and moderation in posting news about conference expansion has disintegrated, even in the most well-established and moderate news sources. Apparently the Board of Regents is in a closed session right now. We will hear the official announcement in an hour or two, I would guess.
Boise State to Mountain West
Does this make them a BCS conference?
This came up when I was playing Oregon Trail. Some kind of weird, 1980's computer-generated prophecy, I think.

Don't count out Mizzou - ESPN blog post
Apparently, Mizzou is tough at home and regular-type tough as well. Thanks Dana O'Neil!
Mid-Season Analysis of Mizzou's Non-Conference Performance
Mizzou's performance in non-conference play this year has been exactly what we (should have) expected it to be: the bipolarity characteristic of a young team, with everything from good wins (Illinois and Georgia) and several unpleasant losses (especially Oral Roberts). Though full perspective on our non-con performance will come with time as the teams we played either triumph over or flounder in their own schedules, why not take a look now?
