Why Charlie Villanueva has to be traded
The Bucks have put themselves in a situation where they have to make a trade at the deadline or be forced to choose between Ramon Sessions or Charlie Villanueva. If the Bucks can't trade Jefferson (difficult), trade Redd (impossible) or trade Gadzuric (are you kidding!?) before the trade deadline, we're essentially saying goodbye to the VanillaWafer.
The truth is there isn't much interest in Jefferson. All the team injuries have actually helped Jefferson's value, but there is better talent for less money available. It breaks my heart to think about dissolving this talented and exciting young group, but that's exactly what will likely happen unless Hammond works a miracle this week.
Negotiating a sign-and-trade deal with Villanueva this off-season will be next to impossible since we'll be forced to take back additional salary. If we can't find any takers for Jefferson, the Bucks best option is to trade Villanueva before we lose him and get nothing in return. Villanueva's trade value is at an all-time high and if we could package him with Gadzuric for some expiring contracts, it might be our best option.
