How do the Nets Survive the "Super Team" era in the NBA
I know that the Nets current plan has them at a 5 year mark before they are expected to compete for championships. I wonder does that plan still remains with the sudden change of climate in the NBA?
We now have super stars lobbying to play with players they once considered to be their rivals. Boston showed that when done correct this can lead to a team winning a championship. We all know about Miami and many are expecting them to be competing for championships for a while. Now with CP3 wanting to play for the Knicks and Carmelo to decline the Nuggets offer and become a free agent. We could very well have another super team in NY.
My question how do the Nets survive this era and remain in the mix of hopefully competing for a championship? The problem I see is Miami and their core are still very young and could be on top for the next 5 to 6 years.
Another problem is all these "Super Teams" are being forged in the Eastern Conference which only makes it harder for us.
Plus with all these other players are joining super teams will this new trend become popular. Will we see Deron going to join Dwight? Roy teaming up with another super star?
