I'm an aspiring journalist. I've run Bleeds-Green.com since January 2009 and I consider myself quite a passionate Philly sports fan, as you might expect. On BGN on a daily basis. Since June 2011, I've been an associate editor at SB Nation Philly, too.

Before you know it, Election Day will be here. Sticking to that theme, I decided to open up some polls for Eagles fans to gauge the opinion of some of the Philly faithful.

Just wondering...

Top 5 Eagles Stories of 2011

It's New Year's, so why not take a look back at the most popular headlines of 2011?

NFL Week 17: Eagles Vs. Redskins Preview

With their aspirations gone, the Eagles are now focused solely on finishing a disappointing 2011 season on a positive note, and they'll try to do so against one of the few clubs they've dominated this year--the division rival Redskins.

Eagles have been on extended plan for success all along (Reid sticking around)

I literally finished writing this about the same time Route_36 posted his case for Reid's firing on the home page. In this, I basically looked at why the Eagles will keep him around...works for both those who want him gone and want him around.

NFL Week 16: Eagles Vs. Cowboys Preview

Philadelphia was all but eliminated from playoff contention just a few weeks ago, sitting at 4-8 in the cellar of the NFC East division, but heading into Week 16 of the 2011 season, the Eagles could have a chance to put themselves in a grand position vs. the rival Cowboys.

Eagles need help from Redskins -- Look at new scenarios

Eagles need Giants to lose today to stay in division race. If not, other scenarios, even more unlikely, open for Wild Card. Listed here.

NFL Week 15: Eagles Vs. Jets Preview

The Eagles have a slight chance of making a miraculous turnaround, but perhaps the toughest challenge for the remainder of the '11 campaign will come on Sunday in the form of the Jets, who boast one of the league's top defenses and are looking to make their own statement en route to the playoffs.

An updated look at the Eagles' playoff chances

The gist: Because the Giants won, the following needs to happen for a division title... --Eagles win out --Giants must lose to 2 of the following: Redskins, Jets, Cowboys --Cowboys must lose to either Buccaneers or Giants

NFL Week 14: Eagles Vs. Dolphins Preview

The Eagles have seemingly faced "must-win" scenarios for over a month, but this week's showdown with the 'Phins figures to be an authentic determination of whether or not the Eagles continue fighting for their desperate postseason hopes.

Just want to say one thing to all the people bashing Jason Babin. The guy has been criticized for not "caring" against the run and so forth, but we really need to look at his addition as a good one. Maybe he's better off as a situational guy, but he is doing exactly what he is asked to do in this system. Under Washburn, he excels on playing simple--firing to the quarterback. Doesn't anyone remember that was the entire plan Washburn brought with him? Babin has done nothing but stand out in his role, but the absence of a fitting LB and safety corps to go along with the Wide 9 has doomed the run defense. He might be a little too concentrated on getting stats, but this guy was one of the fiery "leaders" in Training Camp and has done more than enough to be praised as a pass rusher.

NFL Week 13: Eagles Vs. Seahawks Preview

If the Eagles plan to make a miraculous swing past the Giants and Cowboys to make the playoffs, they'll need to make drastic improvements right away, as the similarly battling Seahawks host the club's Week 13 matchup on Thursday night.

Hey guys, was just looking for some feedback...just opened up an online Eagles-themed store for my site. By the way, giving away a copy of Les Bowen's new Eagles book; have to make 1 purchase within the next week to have a chance. Let me know what you think...this is just one of the designs, kind of a simpler one. Here's the link.

For anyone interested, a detailed preview of the game with key player matchups, things to watch, etc.

NFL Week 12: Eagles Vs. Patriots Preview

New England, which has provided Philly with a few heartbreakers in recent years, from the Super Bowl XXXIX decision to the Birds' 2007 near-upset of a then-undefeated team, will certainly provide a challenge for the Eagles on Sunday--a challenge that might ultimately determine whether or not this club is ready to make a deep run toward the promised land.

NFL Week 11: Eagles Vs. Giants Preview

The postseason doesn't begin for months, but for the Eagles, the playoffs will essentially kick off this Sunday, when the Giants play host to a potential season-ruining divisional matchup. Here's a preview of the Week 11 showdown.

Playoffs? Not likely, but 2011 season still holds value

Time for critical evaluation of coaches, players, etc...chance to see which players truly want to persevere. Also, believe it or not, Eagles not eliminated from playoffs just yet (not that team has shown enough to warrant postseason consideration, but the playoff picture is still open).
