Revenge of the Birds Posting a question on the RB spot

There has been some talk of this outside of ROTB but not much if any on here about the RB spot on the Cardinals.  I have seen where people are saying the team needs a player that becomes the difference maker at RB.  Because the production of Wells and Hightower hasn't been all that great.  Whisenhunt I don't think has been all that happy with Beanie either over the past two years.  Now I know people will say it is the OLine or because of injuries but even with what success the team has had doing some running it has also been a dismal failure.  So does anyone think the Cardinals fix the OLine at OT or OC/OG and try to pick up a new RB at some point in the draft or FA?  It may be something the team leans towards fixing if they can't find a QB to make decent throws next season.  Or if the team won't retain Breaston or get a new contract for Fitz.  Tell me what you think the team will do.

Revenge of the Birds NFL Draft Compensation

I have read that Arizona may have another 2 extra compensatory picks in the 2010 NFL Draft.  It would probably equate to 5th and 7th round picks.  That could really work out to grab some depth at key spots.  But this is all I have read so far here.  (The one thing that I don't see figuring in is when the Cardinals ended up taking Beisel back.  That is still four guys lost overall and two signed.)

Revenge of the Birds Power Rankings (Running Back?)

http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/powerRankings

The Cardinals have dropped the most on the power rankings.  Which everyone knows is just their opinion.  Then it says, "If the Cards aren't bluffing and do settle on Matt Leinart to run the show in 2010, No. 1) Look for a RB in the draft, plus a ball-control style offense come September."  Another running back in the draft?  When they already have Wells, Hightower, LSH, and possibly Wright for next year.  I have heard rumors of the team being interested in RB Lonyae Miller from Fresno State and FB Rashawn Jackson from Virginia.  Which leads me to believe they have some sort of plan in place to get to Whisenhunt's old idea of playing smash mouth football.  But I don't know how many running backs they can have on the team.  Could they carry 4 or 5 RBs and then 1 or 2 FBs?

Revenge of the Birds Miami RB coach to Arizona Cardinals

Miami running backs coach Tommie Robinson has taken the same job with the Arizona Cardinals, according to the Cardinals' Web site.

Staff changes are common after signing day, but coach Randy Shannon gave his assistants the rest of the week off, so nobody was available to comment on this one. Unlike former Miami recruiting coordinator and defensive line coach Clint Hurtt, Robinson would be leaving for a better opportunity at the next level. Hurtt, a former Miami player, left his alma mater for Louisville. Shannon already replaced Hurtt with Rick Petri -- a good hire. But now he has to make another one.

I wonder if he will make a difference but maybe we will see more of an actual running game from the Cardinals next season.

Revenge of the Birds Trade Deadline

Has anyone heard the stories about the trade deadline for the Cardinals?  Part of what I have read about is that Dockett is still unhappy and is still looking for a trade.  They say it will take a first round pick for 2010 to take Dockett.  There are a few teams interested but I doubt any of this is true.  He is playing really good and there isn't much talent and depth behind him so I don't think he will be going anywhere by Tuesday.  Then there are people suggesting that Boldin be traded too.  But Boldin has been quiet and respectful about his contract so far so I don't see it happening either.  What do you fans think about any possibility of something happening?

Revenge of the Birds Insider Draft Picks

All of the "insider" reports would cost too much to be able to read all of the articles if I had to subscribe to them.  So there are a couple of ones I was interested in but I can't read them.  There is one that says the Cardinals visited the Nebraska Pro Day and are interested in an offensive lineman.  It said that Reggie Wells may have some competition this year.  That would only be Lydon Murtha or Matt Slauson.  They both had good combine and pro days and gained a bunch of interest around the NFL for a tackle or guard.  The other report today says that they fancy a top rated defensive tackle prospect in the draft.  Does anyone know which defensive tackle could that be?  Does anyone know more about Murtha or Slauson?  If no one knows I guess in about a month we will all see what happens on these OLine and DLine picks.
